LD32 April 17–20, 2015

Innobec is in!

This year, I have asked my colleagues for help and we’ll be participating as a team! Innobec makes custom software, so I expected that we’d have an over-abundance of programmers, but it turns out some of us have hidden talents: we have a 3D artist, a chiptune composer, a shader specialist, and yes, a bunch of programmers with different backgrounds. I hope this will allow us to create something more complete than what I’ve had the time to make on my own last time, the way-too-short “I’ve Seen This Room Before“. We’ll be using Unity, Blender and Ableton.

Oh, and we’ll be streaming the whole thing! Come see what our office looks like :)

I’m In: First Time

This will be my first LD and it’s going to be a “Go hard or go home approach”:
New to the engine? Check
Do all the art yourself? Check
Do all soundFX and music yourself? Check(might default to a good friend’s music if time’s short)

And to top it all off why not Livestream the entire thing over on my Twitch =D

Engine : Unreal 4
Art: Paint.net & Blender
Sound: my mic, my voice, and audacity.

It’s going to be an adventure people!!

Obligitory In Post

I’m in! This time last year I managed to complete the Drowning Man, which I think did reasonably well, in a fun if depressing kind of way. That was built in Phaser, which I’ll be using again this year. Music using Reaper, graphics with Photoshop or Gimp.

I’m in (first time)

Hello folks,

I’ve been developing games and engines for a while now. Not sure if I’ll have time to dedicate myself to this LD, but just want to give my first try :)

I’ll be using LIBGDX.

I’m in! LD32!

Very excited for my first LD ever! My last uni exam is literally right before the jam so I will be ready!

Count Me In

My first Ludum Dare, and second game jam!

I’ll be using

  • Gamemaker
  • Photoshop
  • sfrx
  • Four Track on iPad (to record sound effects and music)

Excited to participate!

I’m in, my first LD

My weapons of choice:

  • Unity 4.6 / C#
  • Photoshop/Illustrator/Paint.net
  • Spriter 2D
  • Audiotool/BFXR
  • Dora the Explorer (Every episode to keep the baby entertained)
  • Caffeine

Pumped for the weekend!

Soooo looking forward to this weekend! Going to be my first time doing Ludum Dare. Unfortunate I have work for a few hours but hopefully that won’t effect my end product too much!

Tools:
GameMaker Studio
Photoshop/aseprite
Audacity (Maybe other sound generating programs)

Going to do a Time-lapse too. Hoping all goes well.

Have fun everyone!!!

I’m IN!

Finally I can say – I’m in! I wanted to join for so many years now, and this weekend my dreams come true! ( No idea how it will work out, but that is quite the reason, why we all do it :) I’ve been part of PyWeek couple of times. I’m gonna use these tools:

Coding: C#, VS 2013, Wave Engine (new engine to learn)

Graphics: Gimp, Inkscape (I do suck at this >:D)

Sounds: FL Studio 11, (I am missing my keyboard, where I compose usually), Mic, Ukulele, Violin, Harmonica etc.

My university (Charles University in Prague) has offered all LD participants a shelter in our school building (right under the Prague castle), for the whole time. How cool is that?

Round 4

All the possible themes have now been revealed, this last round has quite a few ideas I’d enjoy doing. The older rounds are closing one by one, if I had to guess I’d say ‘Companion’ has a chance of winning, going by how popular it was in round one. Better think what can be done with that 😛

  • 1000 years (this was is really appealing to me, just think of all the different interpretations!)
  • Abandoned
  • Foreign worlds
  • Grow
  • Harvest
  • Hive Mind
  • Playing Both Sides
  • Rapid Expansion
  • Transformation
  • You are the power source

I think I’ll do this Ludum Dare in Java, I’ve been having too much fun with the language recently to attempt to refresh my memory on Javascript. Its much easier to do 3D renders in Java which is ace 😀

It’s Finally Happening!!

It’s finally Ludum Dare time once again and I am super stoked for this weekend. I will be preparing in advance by buying chips, dip, and other goodies to keep my mind focused on what I am going to make this time.

I’m considering using either Unity or Javascript with the Phaser engine for my project.

Good luck to everybody and have fun!!

Surprisingly In

I didn’t expect to have time, but it seems like I have time. So, let’s participate!

  • Coding: Phyard Builder. I feel like I should use something else, but not this time.
  • Graphics: GIMP, maybe Inkscape.
  • Music: probably Sonant Live. Abundant Music is fine too.
  • Streaming: unlikely.
  • Timelapsing: yes. I mean, Chronolapse.
  • Warmup: yes. I mean, I drew a space ship, made it move and composed a music loop.
  • Wallpaper: yes. I mean, this one. I have to clear up my desktop now to enjoy it fully.
  • Eating: food.
  • The last list element: next one.
  • Reader: you.

I’m In !

For my second LudumDare after a point and click in team I will try for something new !

My main skills are for 3D modeling and 3D printing, why not use that to make a game ? I’ll try to buid a 3D printed board game then !

My tools :

  • 3D design : Blender
  • 2D design : Inkscape, Gimp
  • Programming : Paper and pensil.
  • 3D Making : Makerbot Replicator 2 , PLA , NinjaFlex
  • 2D Making : Classic printer, Vinyl/paper cutting machine sihouette Cameo, cisors and knifes.
  • Electronic, conectivity (if needed) : Arduino, MakeyMakey.
  • Motivation : Soda, cofee and a lot of junk food.

The goal is to make something fully reproductible in a FabLab.

Let’s do it !

I’m In!

In for my something-somethingth Ludum Dare! (I lost count). This year I’m going to be traveling a bunch during the jam weekend, so I’m keeping it simple and portable.

I figured it would be a good opportunity to give Twine a try, since I have never made a Twine game before, nor have I ever made any interactive fiction!

(Well, unless you count that TI-83 choose-your-own-adventure game I made in Pre-calculus in high school)

So, Twine it is. Twine 2, I guess?

I’m in!

I’m in this time! Last time didn’t go so well for me, as I couldn’t come up with any ideas. This time, I’m dead set on making something, whatever it might be. Plus, I’m (finally) getting a new computer, so what a great way to wear it in!

Here are my tools:

  • HaxeFlixel
  • Pyxel Edit
  • Ogmo Editor
  • Flashdevelop
  • Reaper
  • bxfr

Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

Doing LD again. Do not check out my LD29 game. It was awful, but now I have a second chance! LD32!

I’ll be using Unity, Paint.NET, MonoDevelop, SFXR and Bosca Ceoil and maybe some kind of font editor (probably fontstruct).

Pachow Studios Is In!

Well I just realized this was happening this weekend and I’m not busy, so why not? I’m going to challenge myself and enter the compo.

Here’s how I’m doing things:

  • Engine: Unity
  • IDE: Visual Studio
  • Audio: sfxr for the sound effects. Not sure on the music, I’ll practice making some ambient beats with FL Studio tonight.
  • Graphics: Simple shapes in Unity. I’m not an artist.
  • Streaming: No. This is my first Ludum Dare so I can’t really afford the distraction.
  • Preparation: Tonight I’ll see what I can make in a couple hours to get a little practice.
  • Fuel: Cocaine (Nah, just a 12 pack of Hot Pockets and 6 liters of Mountain Dew)

All in all I’m very excited. I’ve never tried making a game in such a short period of time so I’m very curious to see what I can do when I push myself to the max. As for what category I’m most excited for? I would say “You Are The Power Source” looks very intriguing.

I can’t wait to see all the amazing games everyone creates!

I’m in!

So I decided to take part of LD and it would be my third time. Last two games weren’t that great because I kinda didn’t knew how to make a great game, I’ll try better this time. Let’s hope that the theme is something good and I’ll get a good idea for the game.

The tools I’ll be using are

  • Engine: Unity
  • Art: Photoshop, PAIN.NET(maybe)
  • Music: cgMusic
  • Sound Effects: SFXR, Audacity
  • Modeling: Blender

Let’s hope everything goes well and I wont encounter a bug that can ruin the entire game.

I’m In!

Yeah, haven’t entered in a while for one reason or another. I think I can enter this time around, though.

I’ll be using Phaser as my library of choice, with IntelliJ as my IDE. Graphics will come from some combination of Aseprite and Paint Tool Sai, likely. BFXR for sounds, and hahaha I’ve never reached music before for a compo entry ever. (SunVox if this becomes an exception, though, I suppose)

With Javascript, what could possibly go wrong except for everything ever?

I’m in

Since I failed to complete the last LD due to life interrupting like many others i’m going to try my luck again! Hopefully i’ll be able to complete somethi

I’ll be using HAXE/OpenFL, together with Photoshop for the graphics. Not sure about sounds yet..

Good luck everyone!
