October Challange! – Light Labyrinth

finalcover2I’ve release my game into the itch.io game store so i can take part in this challange!

It became 2nd on an Innovative Competition, so I’m quite happy with it!

I’d appreciate feedback, and of course if I’d be really happy if you’d buy it and support me, I’ll be updating the game frequently!

October Challenge try ! “BOOM!”

Hey!

I just uploaded my super-experimental text game “BOOM!” !!

SO SCARY!

While the game is actually completely free, there is a pretty “Support This Game” button under it! It’s the first game I upload with a way to support me financially.
Even if you don’t want to or can’t support me, it’s totally OK but please do let me know what you think about the game! As I said, this is highly experimental and I am very interested in any remarks you might have on it!

Thanks!
Be safe!

Escape from the Bunker

Bunker

So as to win the october challenge I must sell one copy of my game – a little FPS in a randomized maze. I finished, fixed and released my project on Itch.io – also you can download all games which are on my page for free (see others by clicking the link at the bottom of the page – View all by Geckoo1337). By waiting the next LudumDare, I have did something from an old project. I hope to receive just one buck for what I have did so as to validate my participation. See you later for the next LD session. My friends – I wish you the best ++

Escape from the Bunker

October Challenge attempt 2

Since Piet, the game I originally submitted for the October challenge has yet to earn a single penny (and cost me $25 to submit to the play store), I doubled down and made another game. :) Odds are I won’t make anything with this one either, but at least now each game only cost me $12.5 😛

feature

Meet Galaxy Launch. It’s not quite as pretty as Piet, but it’s a whole lot more fun to play. :)

what engine you use?

Does LibGdx require those permissions? Just wondering because I was considering trying it out. Right now I use the normal Android library but I wanted to try to try it so I could export to IOS.

October Challenge: Bionic 1.0.0 Alpha

Hello devs,

I posted here about the alpha version of my game, Bionic, a couple weeks back (and this is not an accidental post like a couple nights ago). The game is a multiplayer fps, and I’ve spent time on my own putting it together over the past year or so. My deadline is today, so here are links to my precious game (that you can check out for free):

I’ve entered it in the October Challenge… hopefully I can earn $1! ☺

There’s bound to be many problems related to networking… so please tolerate any inconvenience for now. I will continue to add to the game in the afternoon, when I am not busy.

Find me on Twitter and Facebook and expect an event to play with me this weekend. Thanks for reading, enjoy!

I’ll be on Bionic only for an hour now. Good news is that there’ll be an event tomorrow around noon, hopefully!

Tactical Superiority 1.0 – October Challenge

Screen5

It took a good month and a half to get it all done. The October challenge came as a bit of a bonus, I wasn’t even aware of it until last week. It did help pushing it out, deadlines can be a fine thing indeed.

Stereoscopic tunnel for October Challenge 2015

stereotunnel icon

Hello fellow ludum-dare-ers!
So I split my october in half, wanting to maximize on my chances of crossing the finish line with *something* that makes $1.

First half I cleaned up and fixed a hack I’ve made a few years back. It’s not exactly a game, but it’s got 3D graphics so close enough for me; it’s a stereoscopic 3D tunnel effect. Made a cool menu GUI for it, fixed a couple of stupid bugs, and uploaded to the iOS app-store as free with ads, which was a very enlightening experience.
Turns out, I was done with the code first week of october, but only managed to get it approved, with ads running, 2 days ago! So lesson learned: if I want to release something on the appstore, and have it up at a specific point in time, do it a month early :)

I also decided to release the code under the GNU GPLv3, because what I’ve ended up with, is a very nice example (I think) of a simple UNIX make-based build system for building cross-platform mobile apps. This code currently builds on PC (linux/mac at least, I think also windows but haven’t tested), iOS and Android. iOS has it’s own xcode project (included), but everything else builds from my makefile.

Github source code
iOS appstore page (or search for “stereoscopic tunnel” on the store on an iOS device).

Please check it out if you have an iOS device (it’s free with ads), because right now I’ve just made 40 cents off the ads, and I want to hit the full glorious dollar by the end of october to feel like I’ve accomplished the October challenge :)

bump_sz35

The second half of october I was making an actual game. It’s obviously not done, but I’ll extend my own personal october challenge to november, because I really want to release this before the holidays, as it’s an xmas-themed game. I’ll edit this post with extra info if I ever manage to finish, release it and make money out of that one. For now I’ll leave you with a development screenshot:

just testing something

hey guys just testing a local rss scraper so i can stay up to date on ludum dare posts without coming to the site

Excited for the december LD!

EDIT:

Sweet its working. Link For Download if anybody wants a copy

It is written in python and requires BeautifulSoup and Requests

I just have it running silently every 10 minutes on my linux media box and rssowl linking to the box from my windows pc.

Currently it is just creating the ldfeed.xml file in the current working directory. If you want a specific location you will have to change line 40

LD needs an rss for EVERYTHING lol

October challenge ends

Bunker

Hi folks! The october challenge 2015 ends in twelve hours and I didn’t earn THE dollar which could be enough so as to validate my participation. More than hundred views on Itch.io, more than forty downloads and nothing has been earned. So you have the opportunity to make my day. My games are available for free on Itch.io and you can name your own price for it – give me one buck and I pray for your soul :)

Escape from the Bunker is a little FPS. You are in the middle of nowhere, trying to escape from this place, fighting against many cute enemies. Find into these randomized bunkers the exit – the blue light. Time plays against you. Your main weapon is able to attract skulls and throw it so as to do some damage on your enemies. The golden skull is the best way so as to kill them. Try it if you dare. I wish you the best. See you later ++

Escape from the Bunker

PS : Finally I did a release for Linux which is available on Itch.io

Just Finished My October Challenge Entry

OK , So the name of my game is ‘Alien Planet’. It is top down shooter game. It’s a game about a man who accidentally teleports into another universe where the planets are themselves organisms and we fall into the prey of one of the organisms. It’s a kind of a rage game too.

As much as I want this to work. I don’t really see where you have your niche or target audience. Because anybody who is willing to pay for games, will go to steam (or similar) and get their finished ‘quality’ games there, and anybody wanting to play games for free goes to a flash game site (or similar).

And for the indie marketplace, sites like itch.io (which is probably your strongest contestor) are making a strong appearance.

Bionic Update – October Challenge Completed

My game, Bionic, has completed the October Challenge on itch.io recently, thanks to the generous customer!

Bionic is my FPS game that you can play for free. In other news, Bionic has been updated to Alpha 1.0.1, you can look at patch notes here.

October Challenge: Rocket Racer

Rocket Racer just earned it’s first dollar which means that I’ve completed my first October Challenge!  Woo!!!

Rocket Racer is not your conventional racing game, instead of trying to reach an arbitrary finish line, your mission is to nuke all the infected planets as quickly as possible!  Disarm other rockets by striking them at great speed and even using your nuke on other players!

The Mammoth: A Cave Painting now an open-source Android Experiment

Our Ludum Dare 33 entry The Mammoth has been chosen by Google to be featured on their showcase for interesting Android content, androidexperiments.com! This is a site not just for finding interesting apps for your phone, but also learning from them: everything there is open-source. So we decided to go for it!

Download the source for The Mammoth on Github!

Check out The Mammoth on Android Experiments!

The game was made in the 3 days of the game jam, but we did create some basic frameworks for 2D sprite animation and AI flocking systems beforehand, which we used as a basis for the game (along with Unreal Engine 4, of course). That said, the code isn’t of the highest quality, but hopefully it is interesting to people who aren’t familiar with UE4 and how you can go about making a 2D game in 3 days with the engine. Feel free to hack it up and do whatever you like with it! Alternatively, you can watch the timelapse of the code being written:

We had so much fun making The Mammoth that we decided to keep working together as inbetweengames, and launched as a 3-person studio about a month ago. We’re hard at work on our first non-jam game, but we’ll be back for Ludum Dare 34 in December! In the meantime, check out The Mammoth on PC, OSX, Android, iOS or in your browser, and of course, follow us on twitter.
