From Ludum Dare to Steam Greenlight!!

Hello fellow gamedevs,

we started working on our game “Of Carrots And Blood” almost a year ago at LD31. Back then it was a nice little prototype and a couple of you liked the gameplay and art style. So we thought, why not put more time in it and work on a post jam version with more features. We did that and finished a little game, which has been played by a couple of youtubers, including these two cool Brazilians (video here) and PewDiePie (video here) and we got even more positive feedback from people…That made us realize that maybe there is more to this little idea. We just couldn’t stop working on it 😉

So now we are at a point, where the old free version of the game became the “Classic Edition” and our new version for “Of Carrots And Blood” is now on Steam Greenlight!! 😀

After one week we are currently at 44% to the Top 100 and we need your support!

SUPPORT US ON STEAM GREENLIGHT!!

Of Carrots And Blood is a twin-stick arena shooter combining bullet hell with cute bunnies, mutants and a lot of blood.

You can play alone and compete for the HIGHSCORE.

You can play together in the local CO-OP and beat the short but intense “story mode”.

You can grab a couple of friend and kill each other in 4 player DEATHMATCH (or in the two other 2 player pvp modes)

AND you can play the multiplayer modes ONLINE!!

So if you like some good old arcade action, where you need to be on your toes all the time or die a lot, you should check out our game:

Skellepump!

I just added the game Skellepump to the Ludum Dare October challenge! It’s a shooter in which you play a pumpkin in the Skellopocolypse.

I’m a 12 year old game maker and I went to this page and saw the October challenge and thought it would be fun to make a game.

You can see it’s page here.

I started learning at 12 yrs. old too. I wish you luck in your adventures with game development.

October Challenge Progress

Improvising stuff as I go along with my game in spirit of Ludum Dare 😉

A typography styled bullet-hell game! Yayyyy!

(Music from Pitfall, but I modified some of it in places before the actual level starts for auditory reasons)

October Challenge Work

I’m remaking my LD32 entry Quest for the Golden Spork for October Challenge. On the surface, the only thing that’s been changed is the UI design and the addition of a save feature. The new version will have significantly more levels, so I thought saving would be necessary. The new UI is more clean and minimalist.

Most of the work so far has been on the code architecture. Coding at midnight will not leave you with a maintainable codebase. :) Besides the previously mentioned level additions, most art will be re-designed, and gameplay will be improved.

October Challenge Release

Infinity Dash has been on the Google play store for a few months now, however in light of the October challenge, I decided to attempt to monetise my App. To do this was a challenge, I didn’t want people to have to pay for the app, since it was already released as free, so I decided adverts were the best way to go. I have already met my goal of $1, however I wish to earn the price of the Google play developer account license back(which is about $25).

I would be really grateful if you could play my game, however I would be even more so, if you shared it with friends and family, since I would really like to hear feedback on other people enjoying the stuff I make(it is great motivation to do better next time);

Have fun, and feel free to leave a review and some feedback. I made this for everyone to play and am open to suggestions on where to improve and what I have done well. If you have read this far, many thanks and I hope that with your help I can create a much better gaming experience for everyone, with the games I create.

Cheers!!!

By the way, I forgot to mention that this app is also available on the amazon appstore.

I am currently rolling out an update which improves the highscore feature and fixes a few bugs. These updates should definitely be live by 2:30pm GMT+1. Once again many thanks.

Ludum Dare October Challenge – Update 3

Added a fast forward function to the game, and this is a preview for Level 3! (The first real level!) Once I have this level done, and I have a basic main menu working, I’ll be posting the game for people to play… somewhere. Probably on Itch.io with both an HTML5 iframe and Desktop Download!

Piet, my October Challenge Game

Didn’t you always wonder what would happen if you’d cross Mondrian with Simon Says?

Bigicon

I made Piet for another jam (the theme was “minimalism”), and decided to put it in the play store with some ads for the October Challenge. Since I didn’t have a dev account before, I guess I need to earn $26 to win the challenge. :(

nice, what engine you used?

Hi everyone!

In the spirit of the October challenge, I wanted to share the Steam Greenlight page for a game of mine that started right here as a LD48 entry for Ludum Dare 29: Beneath the Surface!

Introducing: Super Divernaut!

Check out Super Divernaut’s IndieDB page here

AntiVerse – A post-jam Android game

I have posted about this before but still have earned very little downloads and want to try to reach out to as many people as possible. My game is still hard to find by searching it’s name, but I have gotten fairly high with other searches using some SEO. If you would like to, I would be very happy for you to try my game! I just really need some downloads to get higher in the search rankings. Recently, I made an update where you can create custom levels and share them with friends. I soon will make a server to upload levels to and will make a graphics revamp. Right now they are not the best. But, I am not the best artist either. Anyway, please check it out and let me know what you think. Here are some pics.

Thanks!

Well the October Challenge is aimed at selling a game, but I’d say selling an app is also a great achievement nonetheless. Go for it :)

October Challenge

Hello guys! After my first Ludum Dare that I finished(which was the last one, the #33) I decided I was going to release a game by December, but then, the challenge came.

So I thought, well, why not use this opportunity to combine the #1GAM theme with this challenge and also release my first game? And that’s what I did. I came up with a simple top-down 2D game where you’re a cop and you have to prevent rioters to get into the city hall of your city. You have a baton to hit them and a gas bomb, a pepper spray and a rubber bullet weapon.

So after a few weeks, I finally finished. The art is bad because, well, I’m not an artist but I’m trying to get better at it aaaaand that’s pretty much it, I guess.

If any of you wanna take a look, here’s the link:
