LD33 August 21–24, 2015

I’m in #1637

Tools:

  • Language: Javascript
  • Editor: Sublime Text 3
  • Task runner: Gulp
  • Graphics: pyxelEdit + Paint.NET
  • Soundeffects: Bfxr
  • Music: BoscaCeoil
  • Map Editor: Tiled
  • Hosting: Google Drive

I don’t know if I still have to share my base code, but here it is. Note: Unfortunately you can’t build the demo, because I had to remove some images. Also I will remove of course all assets etc. during Ludum Dare, but maybe I will use some as wip-assets I will use some small code snippets.

My goal: Make a game with music (even if the music will probably be terrible)

Good luck and have fun everyone! :)

I’m in?

I don’t know, I didn’t realise Ludum Dare 33 had crept up so quickly.

I guess that I might take part. It’s a possibility.

If I do, I’ll be using the same stuff as always: Aseprite, GarageBand, Unity (2D, I’m not skilled enough to use blender) and some other stuff.

The previous 3 times, I’ve taken part in the compo, but this time I might take part in the Jam. No stream this time, I’ll be taking this LD a little less seriously (if I take part).

Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Request

Due to the trouble I had last time exporting my game to Linux and OSX, I made a test to see if it works now. I do not have a Linux or OSX, so I would like to ask you to test it for me if you do. Here it is

You might want to test it in a virtual machine, this is a must have handy software anyway

Thanks for the tip. On it

Doesn’t work on OS X 10.11 with Java 1.8.0.60, throwing this error when I start it through the command line (double clicking the Jar from the GUI does nothing):

I think I made a workaround that should work for now. I’ll fix it properly after the LD. If it doesn’t work, then, well, only the Windows build will be playable.

I got the following error while trying to run on MacOs 10.10.4, java 1.8.0_31:

Thanks for the help. I still don’t know what’s the issue on OSX

I see you’re using LWJGL… that library needs some natives. Since I haven’t downloaded your files or tested them yet, I’m going to make a wild guess, that you set your natives path to windows DLLs in eclipse or whatever IDE you’re using… But if you want to make it truly cross-platform, you need to set it dynamicly. In your main, before you would create a Display or an OpenGL context, set a System property, called “org.lwjgl.librarypath” to the folder containing the natives for the given OS. You can check the OS by calling System.getProperty (“user.os”). If it starts with “Win” -> windows, set “org.lwjgl.librarypath” to the folder of windows’ natives. if it ends with “nix”, or “nux” set it to the linux natives (.so-s). Otherwise, take a guess and set them to the OSX natives. If something fails, look up the OS names for OS X, and hardcode that too. If I covered anything you did before, and not this was your problem, I’m sincerely sorry!

Get In

Let’s do this!

Compo it is.

Going with Libgdx and some common tools for assets.

In again!

I’m in again, and this will be my 3rd Ludum Dare! I haven’t been able to be consistent in my Ludum Dare attendance, but I’m sure I’m not alone. Like my last entry (LD31 – Ludum Traders), Artuir will be doing music for whatever project we’ve started on. Additionally, I’ll be using some Object/Component code I wrote (will be making it available, even though I don’t have to for the Jam). I threw some incredibly simplistic tile-based physics into that library, and I don’t think it’ll be great, but we’ll see if it gets used or not. :)

I’ve been really coding anywhere time allows lately, and that’s sort-of been my practice. I’ve done most all of my coding in C#, and I’ll be sticking with that again this time around, too. That said, here’s my tools list:

Visual Studio 2015CE
Paint.NET
Monogame Framework
C#/.Net
Custom Component/Entity
Rockstar Silver-Ice
Strawberries
Spotify for sanity.

Good luck everyone!

Wait, me too =)

Being preparing tools for LD#33 compo.
Here’s a quick list:

1. Unity 5
2. Krita, and a bit GIMP
3. Bosca Ceoil, and a bit Audacity
4. Pen and notebook

Good luck everyone!

It’s my third LD, having participated in LD29 and LD32.

Me and my friends are going to join the Jam, using Unreal Engine 4, Blender, FL Studio, Photoshop, and various others :)

Good luck everyone! Have fun!

Let’s JUST DO IT!!!

Gonna be giving LD another go this time, I tried and failed last year and I managed to just barely meet the deadline the year before, but this time I’m determined to come out of this challenge with an awesome game!

Probably going to use Unreal (cause UE4 is Bae)
Max for Modelling
Photoshop for 2d Art and Textures
FL Studio for Audio Things

Good luck to everyone else and I hope we can all make some incredible games!

Im Ready!

it’s my first time on doing this :) i hope all can finish their games on time!

Engine: Unity
Assets: Photoshop, Illustrator,UV Layout , Zbrush, Maya, XNormal, CrazyBump.

I’m In!

Fresh off the back of #gbjam so I’m all warmed up :)

I’m in!

I’m in and I will be live on https://www.livecoding.tv/rancoud
I’ll use Unreal Engine 4 again for this participation.

But there is more for Unreal Engine 4 users!
I finished my side project http://blueprintue.com
It’s a tool for sharing blueprints in a webpage.
The new version is live and I add a lot a feature for registered users like add content, rating blueprints, comments section, versionning.

I’m in!

I’ll be using javascript. I’ll try with just plain javascript but if my idea is very complex i’ll use Phaser (but it’s a jam, I need to stick to “SIMPLE”).

For the music (if I add some) i’ll use Music Creator 7. And Gimp/Inkscape for the art.

Good luck everyone!!!

I’m In

I am in! Haven’t participated for a while, but going to be trying my hand at Unity and possibly Oculus VR this time around.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in for the first time

It will be my first entry and i will using:
