Who Are You And What Are You Doing Here?? – Post-Jam Version!

Hey everyone!

It’s Brandon again. Just wanted to go ahead and let everyone know that we have an updated, post-jam version of WAYAWAYDH?? available to download RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW.

This version includes bug fixes, updated controls, text boxes that aren’t horribly disruptive, some new artwork, and more of an actual progression system (you’ll unlock each form one by one, then go to the next part of the house). In general, this version just matches our original concept a lot better.

We’ll be continuing to fix up this version, while we also consider reworking it as a future project, so your feedback is important to us.

Please check it out and let us know what you think!

That was a fun game!!! I love finding game maker games!!! You did a great job combining the adventure feeling with puzzles!!!

Shiftah – My first Ludum Dare experience

Ludum Dare 35 saw not only my first submission, but indeed the first game I’ve ever put out.

Shiftah
I wasn’t too happy with the game, it has a few problems and I’m sure I could do better – but nevertheless I’m proud of getting something out there in the small time frame.

I have to say, I’ve been floored by the level of positive feedback and encouragement I’ve received. The LD community has been very welcoming, friendly and kind.
So thanks everyone. Thanks for welcoming a newcomer and thanks for the encouragement.

I’ve posted an in depth write-up of my first LD experience over on my blog. The gist of it is, this is awesome.
I’m very much looking forward to more game dev, and my next LD!

OMG you can exit now!

New version of A Tale Of Shifted Shapes is out now!

By annoying popular demand, you can now exit the game slightly easier! Along with that some gameplay aspects were tweaked. Enjoy!

Twist. Turn. Repeat. Twist. Turn. Repeat.

Very cool puzzle concept!!! For sure different than all the puzzles so far!! Nice work!

Lots….of….Let’s Plays….

Well, I don’t know how, but putting Hidden in Plain Sight on GameJolt has led to a lot of Let’s Play videos being posted. Take Level Joy’s video, for example, who was taking a break from the Dream Machine, and was really impressed.

Anyway, without making this post too long, I put the rest of the Let’s Plays in a list below:

  • Natergamez believes the game is a metaphor for looking into yourself to find the truth. I feel a Post-Mortem is imminent.
  • Edward Harley struggles to find that one button.
  • BreadHeroDan‘s NSFW commentary is reminded of the secret sense in the Legend of Zelda series.
  • LAWRENCE OMEGA discovers the power of zooming in.
  • Jacelolz NSFW commentary celebrates his graduation with this game.
  • Robboberty is fascinated by the game’s secret (developer note: it’s a bad joke).
  • Moleman1203 can’t stop saying how clever this game is.
  • 1ghugh1 seems to enjoy this month’s indie game.
  • ~Michelangelo~ claims his eyes feels funny after playing.
  • aWalkThroughLife, as its username implies, made a simple walkthrough for the game.

WolfBit: now with AZERTY and DVORAK support

Hello guys!

Is there anything better to do at a Sunday night than coding new features for our game?

Sure there is! And that’s… playing WolfBit :)
Captura de Tela 2016-04-24 às 23.51.27

Due to players’ requests, and the “keyboard-heavy” nature of our game, we added support for both AZERTY and DVORAK layouts.

Those who have ol’ QWERTY can continue twisting your fingers in tension…. muahaha.

PLAY WOLFBIT

WE MUST GO TO THE WOODS.

WE MUST DESTROY THE DEVIL.

WE MUST GET RID OF THE BEAST.

Just uploaded a vid describing a bit about my entry ;b

ill try it now! cheers for the hard work bro!

Post Mortem – Shape Shift

This was my second Ludum Dare, and I really enjoyed it.  My game turned out way better than my last attempt.

I may have taken the theme to literally and actually created a game where you change the properties of the shapes and match them with other shapes.

shapeShift

I learned quite a bit from this experience, such as the importance of messy code, but also the importance of a user friendly interface.  My menu is admittedly a tad messy, and after receiving several complaints about usability I added the option to click on menu items with the mouse.  Hopefully this helps.

I hope to continue this game and have posted it to itch.io here: https://paradxil.itch.io/shape-shift

If you care to rate my game please check it out on itch.io or on the Ludum Dare page here: http://ludumdare.com

Script Pages

As a way to better understant The Matter Realm I give you the 3 pages’s script of the game. It took about an hour to write (I was in a train) and it contains the plan of the game.

It’s written in a combination of french and (bad) english terms with my awful handwriting…

If you haven’t play it, the entry is right here.

Shapegrammer post jam version

Shapegrammer
Thanks everybody for your feedback on Shapegrammer. I’m happy to report that it has been mostly very positive, but there’s also a recurring complaint: the difficulty level is very high, and that can be frustrating. We want our game to be a challenge but also an enjoyable experience for everybody, so we’ve just added a “post jam” version with a difficulty selector.

Press LB on the controller or Tab on the keyboard to switch between RELAX (new, easier mode) and CHALLENGE (basically the same as the original version). They have separate high scores and leaderboards. We also increased the top scores list to 20 names.

Hopefully now everybody can enjoy the game without being too frustrated, regardless of their skill level. The Relax mode is the default, but if and when you feel ready switch to Challenge and try to get the top leaderboard spot! 😉

You can find the new version on the Ludum Dare 35 entry page. Have fun and thanks for playing!

SHAPE.SHIFT() Post-Mortem

I’ve just written up the post-mortem for my LD35 game SHAPE.SHIFT() which you can view by heading straight to my blog.

Also, I’m looking for more games to play/rate so click here to submit your entry and I’ll get to it as soon as possible.

Aether Crypt – postmortem coming soon

Howdy fellow jammers,

While I’m at work on cooking up a postmortem post for you to feast upon, you can check out and rate Aether Crypt if you haven’t already. If you’re fond of ambient stuff, a big fan of metroivania style games, a platformer addict or a chemistry nerd, you might enjoy giving it a try. Here’s a couple of screenshots to give you a taste of what you’re in for.

Happy Tweene

Hello devs!

After a week reading comments in my game I feel better with it. As I wrote in the description, I was really frustrated for lose 1 day and half in this event, and I couldn’t make all I was planned. But I can see you like my game and that makes me happy :)

1bbjpjK

I had planned to implement 2-3 levels more and maybe another transformation + some “enemies”. Some of you told me that u would like to play more levels, do you think that I should develop it for a future release?
Thank u all!

If u haven’t played it yet, you can do it and rate it here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=56826

Potion Shift is now on Android!

PLAY AND RATE IT HERE

First and foremost let me thank all of you who voted and commented. We have not received that much feedback for any of our previous entries and this makes it really feel like we progressed since our first Ludum Dare a year ago. And now for something completely different: I added an Android port to our entry page. I did not expect it to be that easy but we did not have to change anything big (only fix a small UI scaling issue and check for touch input as well). Obviously the screen design is not perfect for mobile games and personally I’d like it to also support portrait mode but at least all of you who prefer to play on their mobile device can now give it a try. Have fun and keep the feedback coming :)

Check out my game!

In the game you are a shapeshifting shape, there are enemies that come from the sides of the screen and you have to defend yourself. You can become any one of the three different enemies at the same time. When you are a certain shape then enemies of that shape won’t try to attack you, and you won’t be able to attack them. You must use this skill to try and survive as long as you can (score based on how many enemies you kill).

Challenge: Beat our game!

Hi there!

One week in, and judging by the reviews, it seems like nobody has managed to beat our game yet.

We thought people would think elsewise. Still, we think the difficulty level is fair.

We are curious to see someone finish it, would love to see a video or a screenshot of it being beaten.

Anyway, this is our game:

MainMenu

And all you need to do is get to the top and defeat the annoying wizard:

Path

May the wooden path lead you to victory!! 😀
