LD19 December 17–20, 2010

I’m going to make it!

Well, this is turning out to be somewhat of an art game, but I think that it’s going to be a good discovery game nonetheless. All I have left is the last level, a title screen , and then… umm…

I’ve been considering adding enemies. Then, once you beat the game you could re-play with a more powerful character.

I really dig the visuals. Can’t wait to see the finished product =)

Panic is unavoidable!

With the deadline less than 3 hours away, I’m slightly feeling the panic. Although I don’t have much left to do, I got making the world, and that one is big.

.. and without further ado, here comes pictures of food that I have eaten…

… and the screenshot

Back to coding :)

Why does everyone post their dinners?!

Complete, 2 hours, 43 minutes, 17 seconds remaining!

Everything I can think of is as finished as I can make it. Worried the machine was crashing in the last few minutes, but it just about worked.

My main priority after this is sleeping!

Was the objective to blow a hole in your head? It was pretty easy.

Oh, I see. There’s multiple methods.

Spelling Warrior Done!

Yes, it’s here, and it’s terrible! Terribly awesome 😉 Can’t wait to start playing the entries, and it’s been a great time hanging out with you guys in the IRC channel. This is my first year, and I can safely say I will return!

A Tiny Bit of My Jam Game

I’ve been taking a break from work, and thought I might throw a bit of my jam game out.

No demo yet (Nothing worth playing, actually), but I do have a picture of the main character.

I still don't know what her name is...

Trying out a new art style

Done

And I’m done!

The idea was that the player would have to discover attack combos to get a better score, however I didn’t have enough time to animate enough attacks to warrant this.  So the thematic portion relies on the story more now.

Controls are A, S and D for attacks.  See how high of a score you can get!

Hey brah I’m done.

Alright I am done and ready for judgment day.

My Entry Page

Here is a screenie

An early retire, but a good start.

As a first timer in LD, wish I was better prepared. I’ve done mini games in the past that have taken less than a day to complete, but I think my expectations for this competition were to high. Although it was a good experience for me and I think at least I have the beginnings of what can become a good game.  I’ll probably will stick around for other LDs. Good luck to all the entries! #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */ BrundemTitle BrundemBegginings Char1

Finished – YAY

Here you are, gentlemen! I didn’t add music because I wasn’t sure what I intended was OK rule-wise, but SFXR made some neat sounds for it anyway.

Start playing here!

Truth to be told, my game follows the theme very VERY little, but I had fun!

Is that a creeper? I think that’s a minecraft creeper.

OH NO NO it’s not a creeper, it’s a CreepyExploder!

Switching to Jam

I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted to . There is no way have something playable by the end of the compo, so I’m taking the extra day and I’ll put something together for the jam deadline.

All done, I’m finished

Phew! It’s getting quite late and I have to say the game turned out to be more fun than I thought. It doesn’t follow the theme strictly, but it reveals more levels as you progress so I guess it’s discovery :)

The game is about an alien therapist killing traumas in patients heads, synced with some music ofcourse.

It’s only for Windows at the moment, I’ll try to port it to other platforms as well in the future.

You can download it here.

Now some schoolwork, sigh…

Sad Face

I didn’t get to finish my game, due to some unforeseen/foreseen errands I had to do. Oh well, I better start writing a game engine for the next compo, that should make it easier.

Sad face.

Discover the name – video

I have uploaded to youtube a gameplay video, you could take a look at it if you have not tried the game yet :D.

Dunno how much I will able to do before time expires… 2hs left, and I am a little bored/tired. I will take a bath and see if I can do anything more, else I will upload the entry.

Good luck to all

There are many enemies

Our work on our Jam entry continues. There are many enemy airships present, and some clouds.  Game is looking decent and is fun to play, but way too hard.

Playing all the games

So I started going through everyone’s submissions and I’m feeling really lame about mine. You guys are pretty freaking creative and artistic. Well done! Keep them coming!

WARNING: Bug in submit system

Warning, if you for some reason enter this link on your browser:

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-19/?action=save

It will clear your entry information! I’ve lost mine, so beware!
I’m guessing it has to do with not having any data in the GET or POST headers. But it’s a nasty bug that should be taken care of.

I hope it helps.

IT’S “DONE”

Well here it is, guys. It’s my LD19 entry. I basically just gave up and released it as is BUT AT LEAST IT’S RELEASED. No known major bugs.

Not going to finish what I wanted; but I will enter what I have

Ill enter basically one level; I was so close : /

BTW — At what time exactly does the compo actually end? The ticker on my computer is way off for some odd reason.

What does your ticker say? Do you have the NoScript firefox plugin enabled (or equiv)?
