CyberNoir in progress...
Salvo come here!
Salvo come here!
Considering I only have an hour or so to work on my game today, I think major changed and the compo are out of the question. Regardless, I have a few plans and tweaks in mind.
Firstly, I'll be limiting your water holding ability to just 3 litres. This essentially makes the damage to your world more concerning and long-lasting.
I'll also be adding some sort of points system. Right now, there is no way to measure your performance, so a scoring system and few trials runs should do the trick.
Next, since there is no audio, I'd like to add some music and sound effects. I'm thinking of having a piece of music for the game, and one for the menus, and to save time for one of these I've settled on a track I've already written for my Music GCSE.
The only other problems are the two bugs im experiencing. One is that sometimes, dirt tiles regenerate waaayyy to quickly, AND they fail to reset their worldData value, so they are forever broken. The other one, is that the worldData doesn't seem to setup correctly when you restart for a second or third time etc., but that should be easily fixed by clearing the worldData array prior to generating the world each time, to ensure that the fresh data is used.
OK, so the plans are qunited minimalistic, but I've got a lot of work to be doing outside of Ludum Dare, so I think the plans are reasonable.
Good luck Everyone!

Not as much as progress as I would have liked but hey particles and destruction is important:

Game is basically about surviving in a planet with different seasons and obstacles.
I’ll be sleeping when Ludum Dare Compo submissions end so hopefully they’ll get live soon 😀
Game is almost finished, like 95-99%.
May change the music theme tho, not happy with the loop that much.
I don't have much left in the tank to put together anything cohesive. So I'm just going to post some screen caps and maybe do a little write up in the morning.

So due to other work commitments and illness and just the fact that nothing seems to be working, at this point I'm gonna retire from the comp. I might be able to get something together to complete the jam but nothings concrete.
Gutted to not finish but oh well...good luck everyone else!
Edit: Added Images [Hopefully it worked]!

That's an example of how the idea may change completely during working process, and one should not hesitate to start again, if time allows.

Also cracked how to draw meteors, so they don't look like poo.

32 hours in (joined late though)! Yellow: Slow, Green: Normal, Red: Fast. You heal faster in the red, but then the next round will come sooner. Or, you can let the next round come a little later while waiting in the yellow, but then you’ll heal at a slower pace. (The Next Round Countdown will be a little longer, I just made it fast here to get a nice .gif) c:

Well I was yesterday but here is the post.
My first time both making an original game and entering a game jam. Managed to create a functional, albeit slightly crude, game. Pretty happy with it.

Now to work on finishing the last few features and polishing this badboy!
It's been many hours already and i yet haven't posted anything about my project!

First of all a quick description of what this not-yet-named game is all about: - You start on a planet with a few resources and a spaceship - Slowly people start to populate the planet - If too many people have no where to live, you will loose (i think i may change the "goal" of this game) - As your population grows, the demand for more resources gets higher and higher - You can build a few buildings to produce local resources, such as wood, water, food and stones - Houses will provide shelter for your people but have a limited amount of room - On top of that, you can't build too many buildings on your planet, there is no room! - BUT WAIT! You can expand your planet, physically! - If you take the spaceship into space (duh), you can go mine rare materials necessary for better upgrades and research, OR you could blow up the other planets, take their debris, bring it back to your planet and expand it! - Expanding the planet allows you to place more buildings

The really cool thing is that originally i was working on this alone, but a viewer on my stream (who also showed up 4 years ago during another LD project) offered to help out with art! So now it's a coop thing and i can 100% focus on the code (thanks tankertype!)
Feature wise the game is pretty close to what i had planned. Besides polish, the big ones that are missing is the research system and balancing of gaining and consuming resources. Considering we still have 1 1/2 days, i feel pretty cool about it!
More updates tomorrow or so, thanks for reading <3

Are you afraid of the dark?

I've had a hard time waking up, but I'm here, I finished Leucos music and most sfx (though I can probably get away without making any more). I think that the music falls in the category of "programmer art" but at least it's not silent :P Now I'll work on some more pickups, maybe add another type of enemy and then work on "content". I could probably make it spawn enemies infinitely instead of having ready waves. We'll see, less than 15 hours to go!
I only just thought of my idea - an ant simulator!
