Title screen complete!

So let's talk about the game I want to make. It is a little bit inspired by The Little Prince. Basicaly you are an astronaut and you need to protect the only tree on a small planet from evil robots. This is what I've got so far:

I already have all the animations of the character done as well as the tree and the robots. I wish I could make lots of different enemies but I think I'll have time just for one. Now I have to build everything else! And the clock is ticking. I wonder if I'll be able to finish it! Wish me luck :D
Well, although the submission feature isn't ready yet, our game is. I give you: SpaceBrawls!
It's a game about shooting an enemy ship to take down their shields around a tiny planet. If you want to check it out before the submitting is live, check it out at https://jcsirron.itch.io/spacebrawls.
So , at the beginning i though that i can do the compo ( i'm a beginner ) but now that the game-dev is going slow i'm pointing toward the JAM , for now I've done the 80% of the game mechanics and to do Graphics , sound and npcs.
Anyway
The game is like a god-game in which you manage a bio-sphere where there are different types of species that you must keep they alive . In the game there are season and natural-disaster for a variety of the gameplay .
So , good luck to everyone!!!!!
Gameplay is at a working state. I'm trying to wrap up everything now.
Working on some level design. I hope I can think of a good name before wrapping up. The idea is you are saving villagers that live on a world that is getting smaller and smaller. You have to rescue them and escape before the world shrinks to nothing.

We were hoping to finish today since we're both working tomorrow - we didn't manage that, but we made good progress nevertheless. I spent most of the day on art, menus and such - slightly premature polish I guess. Sas finished all the mechanics that we were aiming for in the domain and also did a lot of work helping to hook that up to Unity!
In theory we just need to implement proper handling of our game end conditions on the front-end now so that it navigates to the level screen instead of coming to a jarring halt - then just add content tomorrow...
In terms of content we mainly just need some levels that gradually up the difficulty which should be easily achievable with just adding more configuration. Other than that it's just sound and music that we didn't get to today and maybe a few small animations here and there on the fairly static level menu screen.
Below are some screenshots of our menus and the main game screen:

My game, "Devoured Intellect", is finished. You can check it out on Newgrounds at http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/692369

Let's see, what did I get done today...
But there's still a lot to do:
And there's wishlist, too:
Today was surprisingly productive despite the 3-4 hour break I had to take. Gotta squeeze the rest of the stuff in tomorrow! Here's the enemy sprite, which I spent the most of time on today:

Just animation tests. But real gameplay footage soon for realz <3

And we have a name for our babe :heartbeat:

I thought I was way behind on making my game but in the last two or so hours everything started coming together. I may actually even get to write some music for this game for once!

Edit: In my excitement I uploaded screenshots from my last entry. Oops!
Tada! Talkies! A game about a small world.
Get it here: Talkies Game Page

YO!

I finished my first solo Ludum Dare and am exhausted. The feeling of satisfaction is currently overshadowed by the angst of doing something wrong during the hosting/submitting etc.
Nonetheless 7 worlds are waiting for you!
For the time being have a dropbox link.

Love y'all!

Seeing what others have been able to create from scratch all alone, is amazing :)
I took the Compo rules 100% serious, and created everything my self, even the crappy font, and music! For the players mental health, I did add a mute button to be able to opt out of the repetitive audio loop.

Enjoy jumping from atom to atom, maybe you will even remember some of the names :)
This is what I ended up with.

There is no end to the game, just an endless line of atoms. Score are only for your own enjoyment, and has no consequences to the player.
Rules of the Game:
The energy of the photons needed to escape is indicated by the color of the outermost orbit color. In the bottom you have the same information, plus a valid range of energies (colors) that you can safely hit. If you collect a photon with to much energy, you will be overexcited for a couple of seconds, if you hit a photon with to little energy you will just be pushed around a bit.
When absorbing a photon, locate yourself so the momentum will carry you out of the atom to escape.
Atoms with very low and very high masses, are very hard to escape from. Photons needed to escape the low Atoms are limited in energy and most have way to much energy. For atoms with high masses only few photons have enough energy to allow you to escape.
"Just relax and wait for the right one to come by and let you journey out into the world." ;)
Hope you will enjoy playing it, when the submission page is up and running.
You'll need * A Game (hopefully you have that by now) and it's source code. * A link to your game that's hosted somewhere online. * A link to your Source code that's hosted somewhere online. * Some screen shots of you game. * A name for your game. * A short section on how to play if your game doesn't have a tutorial. * A short description of your game.
Then soon you'll be :joystick: browsing every ones games.

this one will be released broken and terrible!

The basic concept behind "What's the Matter?" is to create elements higher and higher up on the periodic table. You gain points by gathering electrons, you can do this by either capturing them, or fusing with other atoms.
I think it looks better now :)
