Considering last times epic results I feel like I have a duty to enter and nearly kill myself on caffeine and lack of sleep for the weekend!
Hyyypppppppppppppppe.
Can’t wait, hope everyone has an awesome LDjam this weekend ^-^
Hi guys this is my first LD. I will plan to make a 2D game based on the theme using these tools listed below:
Image Editor: Adobe Photoshop
Programming Language: C#
Framework/Library: MonoGame
Sound: Audacity
Good luck to everyone taking part and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Engine: Unity or UE4
Art: Aseprite or Blender
Music: Garage Band
LETS DO THIS!
Hi everyone! My teammate and I will be entering the jam. We’ll be using Unity, Visual Studio and probably Pyxel Edit. Let’s do this. 😀
Happy jamming!!!
Ahoy,
I’m ready to brainstorm and probably produce some 16-bit looking platform style game. I’m working with Gamemaker and Pyxel Edit. Here are a couple links to show my style, in case anyone’s looking to collab:
https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?attachments/td-punkdev08-png.8957/
(top-down cyberpunk tileset in progress- dabbling this past week)
https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/scrolller-platformer-du-jour-test-demo.19458/
(side-scroller engine- I did coding from scratch, though code is not my strength and I haven’t done much with this project..)
I might employ some similar engine and do my own project where I could use any kind of all around help, but if anyone wants graphics help on their own project with similar format I’d be interested- HMU!
Cheers,
-FROGANUS
So, we have another couple of ideas in ‘we-are-in & warm-up’ style.
Worms series by Team17 is not as easy as you can think:

you see? rounding errors
Especially when you want to add some physics to your plain bitmap — it just becomes way too slow:

Ninja rope strategy puzzle?

Voxel based pseudo-3D warship fight? It has shaders and 2D/3D mode, just take a look.

And a small hello from my 3D artist friend:

Do your cardio before the workout and be prepared!
This is my 7th Ludum Dare and this time I want to make something different. For the last two years I have been using Construct 2 as my game engine. I am no programmer and this tool suits me great as it probably has the lowest entry point amongst competitors (after RPG Maker) and requires no programming skills. But it’s time to move on, and while I still regard Construct as a great prototyping/jamming tool, I’m eager to try some new and more complex stuff, namely – 3D game development. And UE4 with its Blueprints system is probably the best tool out there that suits my needs. That said, I’m still at the beginning of its rather steep learning curve and won’t be able to make something more complex than a walking simulator… So, the challenge is to adapt ANY possible LD theme for the walking sim game type. Hope everything goes well
Tools I’m gonna use:
Unreal Engine 4 – engine
Blender for 3D modeling
Paint.net or/and Photoshop or/and Substance Painter for texturing
Zoom H2n recorder and Audacity for sfx
Cubase with VST plugins and/or electric guitar plugged straight into PC for music
Shirakumo is officially in. Full announcement on the toombles.
We’ll be using Common Lisp, Qtools, and Trial to write the game.
After missing the last jam due to scheduling, we’re in again for #38. We’ll be using my Cobblestone game engine again, Dart, and whatever the rest of the team uses.
I’m also proud to announce a wallpaper:
Full Size (4k) https://i2.imgpile.com/i/e0sLP.png
Good luck everyone!
Once again I will be using my base code that I have built up since LD 26. It is written in JavaScript and can be used to create HTML5/canvas games. You can find the base code on github: https://github.com/ZYXer-/base-code-2d
Features:
– a simple game loop
– mouse/keyboard input processing
– image/sound/webfont preloading
Additional classes for:
– playing sounds (using SoundManager2)
– loading and displaying PNG fonts
– particle systems
– pathfinding (using A*)
– image processing class to generate 8-bit style graphics
– utility functions for procedural map generation
Since the last compo I have added some new features:
– you can choose whether the canvas should automatically resize to fit the browser window and whether the content should be scaled
– class for objects with basic physics (position, velocity, acceleration)
– a text object that gives you more functionality than the standard fillText() function.
I also did some major refactoring, putting all demo functionality into a separate class.
I’m distributing the code under the GPL2 license, so feel free to use any part of it for your own project. And please – like always – report any bugs 😉
We’re in! We’re a team of a designer and a programmer, if someone would like to join forces with us feel free to leave a reply. Newcomers, don’t be shy, we’ve all had our firsts! We’re based at gmt+2.
If not, we’ll wing it! Not the first time we had to do so.
So excited! I’m in for #LD38.
