The city is in dire need of saving!

The city is in dire need of saving! Our entry’s first screenshot sports this city’s brandest new handsome and brightest hero ready to save those in dire need! I wonder if there’s anyway we can come to monetize this man… :moneybag: :whale:

This is only some very early animation and system progress for our Ludum Dare entry. Just like it was the case with Jazzy Beats, there’s still a lot we need to get down before you can fully grasp how “Sacrifices must be made” makes into the theme of this game, but we promise we won’t keep it a secret much longer!

Want a place to chill-out while working on your entry? We’d love to see some of the progress of your own games over at our team’s Discord server!

Spake

Huh. Got the physics working. Learned a lot about joints :)

Now the sacrifice part begins :v:

Coding Standards out of the window...

It's that part of LudumDare I so fondly relish. Where pressure builds and good standards just go to hell in a handbasket.

Every GIT commit simply says: "MORE UPDATES" :nerd:

... and DARNIT... make ALL THE VARIABLES PUBLIC!!! :biohazard: :oncomingpolicecar:

First Day: ✔ Hopes still alive!

Our zombie is now able to use his arm as a tool to get over obstacles x3 He will be able to throw and use many more parts of his body soon but first we will call it a day. It was super fun and exciting to see the progress of all contestants <3 Good Night ^-^

Final update for today

So, I refactored the code a bit and I can now define levels with different start parameters. Each level can be split into a number of rounds with differing but predefined enemy behavior.

Now I just need to find a way to make it actually fun to play.

Off to bed, let's get some rest.

Let's Jam!

Hello guys, we have some free time so... let's jam!

Another update

Slow start today, we are working on finishing movement so we can start making levels. We have a few mechanics decided, but our main character is still not decided. What do you all think, slime king or novice adventurer?

Here's an image of some of our art so far: (no background yet) v2.png

Day1 over and out..Good night!

So tonight has been really slow but I am getting there. My minions/village people can at least roam around in the kingdom and that was really hard to do. The population limit to my game is only 100 minions which means soon we will have to start making sacrifices. ...THAT IS GONNA BE FUN...

Good night!

It's 22:00 and I'd rather get up early tomorrow than stay up late tonight. Usually works out best that way.

Finally got my dialogue trees and a quick bodgejob of a custom conversation editor in place! 💃 Still a mess but better anything is better than the default inspector for this kind of spaghetti since I'll be spending a lot of time crafting conversations!

Day one

Hey jammers!

I'm really happy with my progress so I'd like to share it! I'm making a platformer where you have to sacrifice own body to progress in game. I didn't make music in time in my almost every jam game, so I started with music this time. Basic functionality is done, music is done, graphics mostly done.. now audio, more levels, enemies, puzzles, menus, testing, polishing... oh, I need go back to the work, enjoy the video, good luck and have at least as much fun as I have.
