I think I ran out of space

After three hours of sleeping, I continue the project ! Add enemies and work on the behavior !
Good luck everyone !
Boom!
Doing the compo this time since I have work on Monday. Probably making a Submarine game with evil red algae growing everywhere, mocked up some simple sprites that I'm pretty happy with:

My first thought was a fishing game where you could only fit so much fish in your boat, but I couldn't really think up a nice gameplay loop and this submarine thing seems more straightforward and fun.
I was kind of against it at first but I like the new time schedule used - I'm in BST so got the theme at 11 PM, could think on it for an hour or so, go to bed and then get started first thing in the morning.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Going with a shrinking space shooter. Except I don't feel like going to space.

Been spending most of the time since last update writing up the code that controls the snake. Apparently it's really hard to code up an enemy that's fun to play against - being both difficult enough to be a challenge, but not feel unfair. Still don't feel too good about the gameplay, and I had very little progress today, but it's a good thing I'm doing the jam and not the compo :)
Here's current gameplay animation:

Time to sleep, game mechanics and first stage/level are done, and here's a screencap of the main menu.
Ld jam 42 starts at 5.am in our place. We decided to wake up at 9.am. But! an outage until now(1.30 pm).
On bright sight, we have much more time to discuss ideas. We got 1 now and pretty like it. We need to speed up to catch with the deadline.
Screenshot 2018-08-11 10.44.00.pngI am taking a narrative approach to the theme. I wanted to create something a little wistful, something that might even be a bit dark. I kinda wanted to go to a place with the theme that where we look at a character and his development.

That's the character's name: "Zero Grace Megadrive". Basically my take on "Rex Power Colt", and an spin on Grace Hopper's name to emphasize that she'll shove you.
I will probably regret this when I wake up.
I'm in for my 3rd Ludum Dare. Day 1 complete!
This is my progress so far:

I've settled on a game idea I'm tentatively calling "Beaver Pitch". You control Barnaby the beaver who has to defend his dam from naughty neighbour beavers who keep stealing logs for their own dams. You have to run up to them and bop them with your tail, while rebuilding parts they have destroyed. I'm thinking that you move faster when you're on your dam, and slower when you're swimming, so the more wood they steal, the harder it is to keep the dam maintained.
Here's a mockup:
I had to restart because my initial idea was out of scope and out of my area of expertise so that was around 3 hours of work down the trashcan (yey). So I restarted.

The idea is that the level is constantly being deleted by the pointer and you have to reach the end while all the shenanigens are happening. I'll build my levels around that mechanic. Hoping everything goes well.
We decided to go with something space themed for the "Running out of space" theme! Lighting needs some work but I think it's lookin good so far!
And I just woke up. OMG it's late! And my fellows are engaged in ordinary life. So I will go for a compo... Hope it will go well... so let's go!
I just finished a long break, I'm excited to do some music now. Still going good here.
This jam entry is very exotic for me. I am in my parents countryside house - have to work from a laptop placed on my knees (no tables heh...). So my jam is with a holiday spirit - barbecue, drinks and... my game! Have already come up with the idea, hope they don't turn off the internet here XDD
Me and @simogecko are in!
Our idea is to push a trolley through a delivery warehouse picking up boxes of the right size and carry them to the appropriate shelf. The thing is that you need to watch out for space on the trolley and avoid boxes from falling out of the conveyor belt!
Here is our prototype:
What do you guys think?
Would you look at that

What software do you use to create the gifs to show?
