I'm in!!!
let's do it!
let's do it!
My first LDJam, so excited woohoo~
I've been caught in a bad transport situation - my train is running 1 hour late and so I had no desk to start working at.
Trains have walls. I have post-its. It's not ideal, but it works for me.
this is gonna be awesome you guys

Hey everyone! Cheers to all the participants and good luck :D I like this theme and am already hard at work getting the basis down! Can't wait to see the entries :D good luck everyone, may the bugs not make you cry and may the gods of coding smile upon you!
I'm in !
I'll be using :
LIVE STREAM : https://www.twitch.tv/streams/25872875840/channel/83812628
I was going to work on some other stuff this weekend, but I can't resist a good Ludum Dare!
Let's see if I've learned anything since my last jams... Not making a full 3d animated character. Check. Not making a procedurally generated world. Check.
Okay, I might be able to keep my scope reasonable this time... NAH.
Always too much excited before a LD
Ironically enough, the power's been out all day at my house during some rewiring for a solar panel installation, so I really am running out of power IRL! Nevertheless, I'll be participating in the event and hanging out on various Discord servers.
Tools: Eclipse, libGDX, Java, Pyxel Edit, box2D, and maybe sfxr/bfxr... but maybe not.
As for the theme, I was honestly rooting for "running out of power", so I'm glad to see it win. Some questions to ask yourself if you're struggling for ideas:
Source code: https://github.com/GnarlyNarwhal/Ludum-Dare-39
Latest build: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B30vfj3rcantQ052Uk94SnBBSW8
I'm not sure how often I'll update the build but feel free to try it anyways.
Hey folks my 10th Ludum dare, exited to be part of it yet again!
Although this wasn't my favorite theme I've some up with 2 ideas I like a lot, but I'd love to hear input from others too to hear what people thinks.
My first idea is to take a simple clicker game, and turn it into a multiplayer game where all connected players helps each other to generate power. I was thinking of making this very simple in a ASP.NET MVC solution using AJAX, a Webservice and a database. To make the game a little more challenging players needs to realise that their inputs matters, as certain combinations of resources may generate my power. The goal is to NOT run out of power, as the players will need to defend them self against an evil enemy - THE POWER SURGES!!! - if the surges drains the power completely the game is over and will start a new round after some times.
Second idea is an escape room, you are trapped in a room, there is limited power for you to use and solve the riddles within this room without also going insane! the game will be a smaller and simple puzzle adventure where the goal is for you to escape with your mind still sane, and before the power runs out, trapping you forever in what will become your tomb! This idea build a lot on either a game show, or the player being kidnapped, maybe saw? and now tested if he/she can escape in time without wasting resources. Game will be a 3D FPS made within unity.
Any comments or remarks? I think I'll jump to bed soon so I'll be well rested for the next few days, as I've been up for 24 hours soon (4 am here in EU) but I'd love to hear which idea people think is the most nice/viable? :)
Also feel free to check by my stream; https://www.twitch.tv/jacksendary and throw me a follow, I may or may not stream most of my development when I'm awake :grinning:
Idk what the heck i m thinking This is my 2nd jam ever but i dont have any thoughts n motivation Well lets hope it ends well Good Luck everyone ;]
Joining Ludum Dare 39 as my first jam(~~technically second but we do not speak of the Mirror Jam~~) so that I can get off my butt and actually finish something. The project I have planned is simple and probably lackluster but that might change in the next 24 hours since after that there's no going back.
Using Godot Engine (May change to Defold) since It's the only free engine I know how to use and BFXR for sound effects. If I do music I'll probably use Bosca Ceoil but that's a big if since I haven't been able to create anything decent with it.
Well, not the best theme but I'll try to work with it. Already thought of some ideas and all of them heavily require good art, but the goal is kept the same. With that in mind, I am now ready to start making the game! It's probably something you wouldn't expect from a theme named "Running out of power", but it only changes the story, not the art work, so here I am with some sweet art! (pun intended)

(The white circle with the "M" on top is an M&M. It is white so I can change it's color on code, and not have to make 10 images of the same sprite)
Hoping to actually finish this one. This might end up being something presidential. Celebrity guest involvement may occur. most of the work will take place at Wow Cool in Cupertino during store hours this weekend noon-6pm. Doing lots of prep tonight. Feel free to stop by. WowCool.com
This will be my second LD. I'm excited! I really like the idea I have this time around -- it's about hamsters and robots.
Best of luck to everybody!
Here's to hoping the power doesn't literally run out IRL ;)
I've been sitting on this idea for my next game for awhile while I'm finishing the current one. This is a perfect opportunity to explore it further over the weekend.
I'm in!
And we've got a rad idea. We're using: - Unity - Paint Tool SAI - BFXr - Ableton Live 9
Can't wait to show you what we make!
I missed out last time, so better make a game for this one. Using Game Maker Studio, Paint.net and whatever else is necessary.
