Love you all, Ludum Dare is the best!

LD44 Finale Stream: 3 hours leading up to the results!

Hey all, after playing 60 games on stream this year - I'll be doing one final LD44 stream on Tuesday the 21st of May - 20:00 GMT / 21:00 BST / 16:00 EST. I'll playing a handful of selected Ludum Dare games in the hours leading up to the results and then checking out a few of the winning games!

It won't be an open queue system like normal; it's more of a chance to explore specific games I enjoyed and discover a few new games. It will be about enjoying what makes Ludum Dare great! I want to have a stream where we can get hyped for the results and see which games managed to top the different categories this year.

I'll be staying live during the results, so feel free to hang out and chat about your results and how you feel! Remember, LD has never been set up to be a competition with a "balanced rating system" - we all know it has its strengths and weaknesses - so don't let the results take away from what is a great event. It's about having ideas, turning them into a reality, and letting other people experience it for their selves!

Post-results I'll be playing a couple of the top ranking games live on stream to see what some of the winning games have to offer this year!

Santho's Arena's Post Mortem and update #1

OK First off, I apologize for anyone who has downloaded the game only to be unable to play it. One of 2 things happened, I did not properly package the game or I've completely forgotten how.

Now for the explanation and What I can take from this: - Note to self and ALL developers Do NOT make an RPG game with complex mechanics during a Ludum dare event. It will take you A LOT longer to implement than you originally think. Because of this I somehow ended up spending almost an additional 2-3 weeks on the game After trying to submit the game back in early may.

  • This is my first Ludum dare. Originally I didn't want to take part because I was under the impression that this event is for experienced Game developers, peer pressure talked me into doing it anyway. I'm not expecting any good ratings, nor am I going to be having any crowning achievements. The fact is that I've tried, and I hate leaving a project unfinished. This ain't my best but wont be the last project I'm doing. I've got more projects on the way that I wanted to create.

So After about 2-3 weeks of arduous work I think I finally have the game truly ready. Check it out.

Thank you for organizing the event.

What if you were currency?

*One coin, two faces and a crowd of evil rich dudes *

Face for Death is a 2D runner platformer videogame developed for the April 2019 Lumdum Jam, in where you play a two-faced coin with personality disorders who has to scape from a city plenty of evil and greedy rich dudes.

What's new?

We keep working on a modular level generation protoype and some of the mood we want to give it. Most of core mechanics are working on now, some music and sounds were implemented and it would be scaled soon. In next step we will be bussy in level modules design and probably we will introduce at least a pickeable item and auto-ranking, in order to give it some playability.

Now you can taste it in HTML5

Havent played yet? Come and show us how long can you reach!.

Don't let them catch you and rate, feed is allways wellcome

Thanks!

Ahhhh, the irony...

So I've been working hard for the last few days on a 'techlog' for the pattern recognition algorithm in my game Sigillis, but I just realised... I've spent more time working on the techlog than I have on the actual game... Yeah, that's kinda weird. But the techlog is still not finished, and I'm gonna struggle to have it done before the results are released. I'll keep working at peak capacity to get it to you guys before the inevitable rise and fall of LD activity around the results period.

But regardless of my interesting time investments, Sigillis is still an awesome game! It uses a pattern recognition algorithm that I made during the Compo, and the resulting game is certainly something unseen in other LD entries! You draw things on the screen, then the game uses the symbol that you drew to cast a spell to defeat enemies.

If you'd like, you can play the game here, then if you can muster the time, rate and leave feedback here.

Thank you to everyone who has played my game, and left feedback. Much obliged! Of course, there's still time to play it before results, and even after results I think it would be a worthwhile play! Cheers, JUSTCAMH. :v:
