LD 44 April 26–29, 2019

Rate some puzzle games before the deadline!

There is still time to give creators valuable feedback. Looking for specific genres and platforms to rate? How about self-described puzzle games: http://ludumdata.openfu.com/event/75?q=puzzle*

Doing some last-minute ratings here

Ah, I'm a little late on the rating train! I don't want to just ask for ratings, so I'm setting a goal to rate a total of 30 games (I know it's not a lot compared to others but..).

If you need ratings as well, do consider trying out my game :). https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/martian-scrapper

I hope everyone had a good LD!

P.S. I just noticed my title image still has the transparent guide lines visible. Oops.

Just a wish for future Ludum Dares

Rating some games right now, and having some difficulties finding games that I can run on my mac!

If you're using an engine that supports making a web build, please use it! That opens up your game for play on mac and linux (and probably chromebooks too). Much easier to play and rate the games when the web builds are there :)

Cheers!

Oh, and if you like, try my game out too :D https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/dont-wake-a-sleeping-vampire (it's a platformer)

comment and I rate your game!

And if you want you can play my game :D

*One coin, two faces and a crowd of evil rich dudes *

Face for Death is a 2D runner platformer videogame developed for the April 2019 Lumdum Jam, in where you play a two-faced coin with personality disorders who has to escape from a city full of evil and greedy rich dudes.

What's new in 1.3?

Well, this week we were bussy again. This time we can say we are closer to a playable prototype, even though we have to improve a few more things. We have already finished the modular level generation prototype, its now auto-generating and scaling dificulty and speed by scoring distance ('Look at him, its flying!'). Also we have implemented some new mechanics, obstacles and pickeables, you can join our jam site and see more details about 1.3 updates. As said, its a prototype version and it would being scaled and polished gradually, so dont hesitate to alert us of any possible bug!

Taste it now in HTML5

Havent played yet? Come and show us how long can you reach!.

This is over

Congratulations all for your jam games

We hope you enjoyed the party and could discover new and interesting gamedev stuffs like we did. LD is full of amazing non-profit works, with such simple goals as having a good time with mates, learning from others and sharing experiences. That is more than enough, and it is also great.

Your life is not currency.

Thanks for playing!

Hey :) Please, tell me what to upgrade in the future!

I made that game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/lifestream without any idea of continuing it in the future, however I really enjoyed that project and got such a variety of feedback, that I thought it might be interesting to work on it in a free time.

So at the moment these are main issues I will have to struggle with: - More intuitive mechanism (probably dragging) - More levels with better tutorials - There is sometimes a bug that doesn't let you open game - Make explosion of particles better in showing black holes - Add a better storytelling and reason to the game.

Thank you all for the support and have a nice day :) scr1.png

Sick Business Post Jam Version

For the past three weeks we worked on a post jam version of our game Sick Business (feel very free to test it if you haven't yet!), and decided to finally release it to the world.

sickbusiness1.png

Just some of the changes we introduced:

  • complete second level with different goals and challenges
  • improved patient design, it is now easier to understand their situation and react accordingly
  • shinier UI and easier to read text
  • mouse support for better menu navigation
  • new patient treatment: surgery
  • improved balancing and minigame physics
  • new janitor design
  • highscore system
  • new title screen
  • several bugfixes
  • should finally be playable in Edge browser (@cozmic - in case you're still interested to give it a go!)

Here's a video of the post jam version, including the new level:

We're highly grateful for all the great and in-depth feedback we received for the game, and hope we were able to give something back. We played a lot of amazing games this time, it's really impressive what many of you accomplished!

Shout out to @monkeydvrus @pseudobytes @garys @megan-kozun @karreg @barbiche @entropy @shaner421 @lazertrax @jin9310 @jamesolivermusic @coleslaughter who left super nice comments indicating they might possibly be interested in seeing a post jam version - if so, here it is! Thanks so much for your support. :)

We had a great time once again and are already looking forward to the next Ludum Dare in October.

Please give my game a shot. I need 11 more ratings. I'd appreciate actual feedback more than ratings though.

The Final Hours

Here's my short horror story if someone still wants to try it out now that we're approaching the finish-line.

I already have enough ratings though, so you should also consider rescuing the games that are in danger.

Thanks to each and everyone who participated in LD44!

I will give your games a shot, just post them in the comments!

Seeing how the time is almost up... Why not bump your rating count, even if only by one? Give me all your games, I'm down to play and rate them all! ...unless I already played them, in which case, well, tough luck!

While we're at it, here's my game, HEART MINER
