It's time for the Post-Jam Game Spotlight, where I recommend a game or two that could have won! Just because the jam is over doesn't mean we shouldn't come on over to ldjam.com and play some games!
(Second try for this actually, there's no dialog asking if you want to exit the page when typing a post. That's something that could be added to the site. I typed this whole thing and then my touchpad glitched. This'll probably be shorter than the first attempt.)
This Jam's Spotlights Are...
...two games that really hit hard in the "emotional story" category I just made up. The special guests are Anything For You and WHAT I SAW!
Let's go into detail!
Anything For You is a point-and-click narrative that'll leave you like "that was a game?" when you finish! An emotional story, realistic dialogue, and some funny art during the bedtime story scene! Plus the rare added touch of voice acting to really get you into the story!
WHAT I SAW is an epic mashup of platformers and narratives with little elements of horror! Journey deep into who you are, and don't give into trying to change yourself to satisfy others! Responsive and smart controls, an emotional story, and some great enemy AI go nicely with the unexpected twist near the end and the fantastic soundtrack.
If you haven't played these, you are REALLY missing out!
Well, that's all I've got for now! Stay tuned for my artwork awards for the winners and whoever requested an artwork!
(Note: well, I thought this would be shorter than the original attempt at this, but turns out it's longer. Probably because I had fun with the formatting.)
I hope to see everyone next jam! Happy gamedev-ing everyone!
