Ludum Dare 47 October 2–5, 2020

Also in...

Uncertain if I'll be doing this alone the entire time, so I'll be doing the jam for sure.

Tools

Engine: Unity

Graphics: Adobe Creative Cloud (mostly Photoshop)

Audio: Audacity, BFXr, probably resort to some public CC0 songs for music (if any)

Frameworks: - Primitive Engine (https://github.com/primitiveconcept/primitive-engine): A highly modified version of the Artemis ECS C# port I've been working on for years, with bindings to make it work with Unity. - Photon: For multiplayer, if needed.

*Trumpets intensify*

My secret strategy if i wouldn't have found someone to help with music.

Finding music you can use freely is not quiet easy.

Composing is a skill not many have.

I found this website MuseTree which talks to MuseNet hosted by OpenAI which tries to come up with 4 ways of continuing a song. I am not sure their servers are up for many people hitting it at once. So if it worked you for you thank @OpenAI mention #LDJAM and maybe share the end result.

Here is a short overview of what kind of music it can generate.

Tips

  • You can switch genre
  • Right click's on nodes to generate new continuations are sometimes buggy.
  • Be aware of the temperature option, a low temperature makes the AI less prone to jump between musical ideas.
  • You will have to record your browser sound to get it in an usable format AFAIK

I'm in.

Will be doing my best

Im ininin!

Hallo you weenies!

Last time Ludum Dare was running i had a very very busy week, so much so i couldn’t be near a computer for the whole weekend. Now im back, ready for a weekend full with no sleep! :)

Because people love these, here are the stuff im using:

💀 GameMaker: Studio 2: The game engine i have been using since 2013!

💀 Aseprite: A very nice pixel art program, i like it…10/10!

💀 BeepBox: I make music right inside there!

💀 Bfxr & Audacity: With these, i make crazy sounds!

💀 Trello: Here i do my concepts, ideas and checklists!

💀 itch.io: This is my go-to place when uploading my games, very nice!

I'm in even with so little time!

I have to be offline during the weekend so I'll have to make a game during monday only.

At least I have 2 days to think of a game I'll make!

Can't wait for theme!!!

I'm in.

super exited

Let's Jam

Schedule: Cleared.

Programs: Updated.

Snacks: Stocked.

Drinks: Chilled.

Body: Ready.

I'm In (maybe)

Have some things to do during the weekend. But I'll try do something small for this jam.

The theme is lame!!!!

It's not out yet but figured I'd get a head start :D

We're in! (10th time's the charm)

This'll be our 10th LD for myself and @linear as developers/artists, The 7th one we'll have done with @thomas-kresge as musician, and 5rd one with @angiekatneko.

We'll be working with:

  • @aurel - Programming, UI Design, 3D Modeling
  • @linear - Programming, 3D Modeling, 3D Texturing
  • @angiekatneko - 2D Art and 3D Texturing
  • @thomaskresge - Music and Sound Effects + Foley

We're working with a lot of tech:

  • Unity 2020.1.6f1
  • Modo for our 3D Modeling
  • Maya for Animation
  • FMOD Studio for Audio and Integration
  • Sibelius & Cubase for Sound and Music
  • Photoshop for 2D art and Texturing
  • Screen2Gif for recording gifs
  • Chronolapse for Timelapses
  • OBS for any videos we might make
  • Discord for communication
  • Asana for tracking bugs
  • Visual Studio for programming

Within Unity we're starting with a base "data" scriptable objects package we've created as well as a geometry intersection tool we wrote called Poseidon that will hopefully help us make levels.
