Ludum Dare 46 April 17–20, 2020

Y not chill out and crush some Tyles?

Here's my post-compo update for my timing-based clicker game, Tyle. I've added many new features like an updated mouse cursor that provides useful information, a new bomb tile that destroys others around it, and a new "crit mode" that is briefly enabled when you get 10 successful crits (perfectly timed clicks) in a row. Please give it a go!

Check it out!

Bubbles Saves Grandma - Bugfixes and Quality of Life Galore!

Grandma.png Bubbles Saves Grandma has had some great reception, and through careful consideration of user feedback from both the Ludum Dare community and external players, I've been able to put together a list of the most commonly requested quality of life changes and the most complained about problems.

Today, I finally ofund the time in my schedule to put an hour in and tweaked the game a bit, and now it should be much more fun and a whole lot more playable!

Changes: - "R" key now resets the game immediately - highly requested by speedrunners - Bubbles will no longer hang desperately to edges only to later fall - he will be able to jump up! - The jump's consistency has been improved, and you should now always jump when you expect to - "Super jump" bug fixed - A voice clip has been added to the bathroom letting you know the sink is your destination, as some users found this room quite tricky to work out - Finally, the most requested feature of all: Bubbles has now decided it's ok to look back sometimes - Pressing S will now actually slow Bubbles down! I'm worried this might make the game too easy, but I'm excited to see feedback

Please let me know if there are any glaring issues or new bugs introduced with this version!

Thank you for joining Bubbles on this journey!

There's only 2 days left to rate games, and if you haven't played my compo submission, "Defend the Loot!" why not give it a try? In the game you have to defend the loot chest as waves of enemies attack you. Before each wave you get a minute to build up your base.

You can find the game here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/defend-the-loot

Developing my game after ludum dare - need ideas!

For this ludum dare I finally managed to take the advice to go for a really small scope. And it went pretty great I think. I am happy with the game I made and I had plenty of time for balancing.

Annotation 2020-04-19 212143.png

With this in mind, I didn't plan on building on the game after the compo. After all, it was designed to be a small little game to be played by ludum dare participants only. But after reading some comments, there might be some potential in this little game for further development. I just need some ideas on what to implement.

So, if you want, play my game and come with some suggestion on what to add. How can I make more levels? What kinds of weapons could I add that are interesting? More enemy types? Here is the link
