Why does the jam start on Saturday instead of Friday?
Wouldn't it be much better if it started like, 6 hours earlier? Many people have work or school on Monday.
Is this jam not meant for non-Americans?

I was gonna participate in April but I forgot about it... ...whoops...
Anyways, what themes did you all vote for? Which one do you think will win, and which one do you want to win? Anyways, good luck and have fun!
Hello! Me and a Friend are joining Ludum Dare 45! This is our very first Game Jam ever! Hopefully it wont be a complete desaster! :-)
We will use the following things:
Engine: Unity
Coding: Visual Studio 2017
Art: Dungeon Painter Studio, SpritePile, Paint 3D
Music: BandLab
Do we need to register somewhere or just submit it?
Cheers!
I will be participating Solo for the first time in years and try to aim for 48h the first time ever :) Tools will be Unity, GIMP and Magica Voxel and if time allows I might lend some sound and music from bfxr and freepd.com.
I've spent last week crawling through some old projects to handpick some classes, that could come in handy and bundled them up in a public github repository to accelerate my startup a little bit. Feel free to use it, although those are very basic implementations and you might be faster writing this stuff yourself than trying to understand my (of course undocumented and uncommented) code :P

It's been 6 years since I last did this :scream:
I will throw everything I know overboard and just use PICO-8 this time. This will be so much fun!
Edit:
HYYYYYYYPE

Do people like Trump?

I will be programming a 2D Game for this next LD.
Lauguage: C++ API: OpenGL Libraries: GLFW, GLEW, GLAD

It's been awhile since I've done an LD (last one was 40) ... so I thought I might have a crack at LD45 -- mini adventure/puzzle games are what I'm into at the moment, so hopefully the theme is kind to me (and everyone else).

My entry will probably be very interesting
And this time I'll finish the game, I promise! haha
Here is my tip to make more enjoyable the experience of the testers of your game.
Please support both QWERTY and AZERTY keyboard layouts, especially in the case of WebGL game ; it's really simple with four direction motions (or less) ...
Eventually, support also arrow keys.
Others available nearest keys : * E to special action 1 * C to special action 2 * X to special action 3
Most others keys around "this block of nine keys" can be used with both of keyboard layouts.
I am participating in InkTober and Ludum Dare at the same time. All of my drawings for InkTober will be converted into assets for the game I'll be putting together for the Ludum Dare. This is my first enemy.
I wasnt able to participate in LD44 but very excited to do LD45!
Excited to make something this weekend. I'll be working Solo this time around. I'll be using:
Looking forward to participating with a group this weekend. I did GGJ at the start of the year but otherwise haven't spent much time on indie development recently, I'm excited to get back into it. We'll be using Unity and likely developing for PC or Android. I have a few people potentially joining in who don't have any development experience so hopefully we can find plenty of ways to keep them engaged and find ways for them to contribute. Good luck everyone!
Remember kids, even if the theme is good, it's tradition to complain. Remember to honor the tradition of 44 LDs and complain about the theme with all your power
Im in for Ludum Dare 45 and will be uploading my behind the scenes over on my youtube channel! youtube.com/c/indieeclipse Subscribe to get notified when I do!
Seventh time in, with about the same team as previously. Wishing good luck to all of you jammers! The earlier start time is also a nice change for us Europeans :)
The last ludum dare I did was LD40, and I'm back with more experience under my belt. Last time I did well with my art skills, hopefully this one will improve on game design. Was going to try C++ this time, but I need to work more on my engine first.
My setup: Programming Java with libGDX, Eclipse, and Git, drawing with GIMP, sound with sfxr, audacity, and possibly OpenMPT.
Lessons learned from last time:
Here's to hoping we get some good games out of this!

And here we go again. The setup is mostly completed and as you can see it's mostly the same as last time
As usual I'm gonna cooperate with chaosBrick (legacy).
We're gonna use our self written framework along with gimp for graphics, blender for modelling and major brainfuck for that stuff we call sound effects.
