Hi all,
Still a lot to do, so far I created a first version of “the hero” (I can’t tell you who is it, but it’s unnamable), fog and “vegetation”.

Yeahh.. almost three hours just for this.
Good luck!!!

Got things moving on screen. That’s good.. Maybe…
Crappy Sources are at https://github.com/edibletoaster/Kitty-Crusade-LD48–22 Builds apparently are making it up there too cause I’m lazy.

Well… i’m abandoning my participation due to the more important stuff in life

Apparently the way How I’ve written my requirements, appears to be making me have some limited design issues:
The original game idea goes as follows and is laden with typical cliches, except that the ending is a twist
The player is on a long car trip, however they run into bad luck and
run out of gas completely (someone probably syphoned it out during the last stop),
and the phone has no signal.Meanwhile You do not know what exactly is in the distance as it appears there’s something in the darkness.
He/She end up in the middle of nowhere, meaning they are unlikely to have anyone drive past atleast at in night, or if anyone else be in the area:
The small gas station appears to have been long abandoned,
There is a vandalised phone booth, the roof, your car, and the building it selfThe player has to get into the abandoned building, turn on power, find a token, and call someone to not be so “alone” anymore.
the player returns to the car, and then continues ******** ********* which ********* the ***** in the ********** are ****** ****** of *** ********.
Forexample: My current area of an abandoned gas station / diner in the middle of no where simply is put way too dark. And logically speaking such buildings wouldnt have light since they would have been long abandoned (duh).
The only way How I might actually proceed further into a better direction is actually making it so that the the place isnt abandoned, but all of its occupants have simply dissapeared during the night..
Hello ludumrians!
Here a screenshot of my progress!
The goal of the game is controlling the character, so that is escape a cavern. The keyboard key that control your character will always switch. Check out my progress at here.
Added cave tiles and liquids. Toxic water kills you.
Downloadable link: Here!

Okay, I’ve just added moving rocks. They will work like pokemon strength so you push them using space into the hole.
Here’s a puzzle I just made (it’s basic so maybe the first one)

Thanks to Skyim (only got it yesterday) I’m only just making a start on my entry.
I’m thinking of doing a top down shooter where the player is the only one of his kind alive (that’s the alone aspect), not very original, but I’m running out of time.
(first preview, second preview)
Here is my third preview of my game. It’s the same as the second one, but with real background and tileset!
It’s the first time I can draw a PROPER tileset, with all the corners and the inner corners, so I’m very proud of this!
Here’s the original idea, basically it’s about dragging your companion’s dead body back home from a very unlucky expedition.
Play it here: Rolpege LD22 (Alone) – Preview 3
You control the character with arrow keys / WASD / ZQSD / ,AOE
You drag the body with the down arrow key, S, O, Space or C.
After multiples at a new platform engine, I believe I will be studying the “Smooth Platform” by icuurd12b42, and hopefully be able to get this running again :/
…but with a twist. Its going to be real time with key and mouse based movement. Text input will be used for more specific actions.
And one more thing, you character is blind. Your only clues as to what the environment is are the sounds and the descriptions of what you can feel.
So I have improved on my prototype a little bit. You can change the size of the conga line by adding and removing friends. You can change the light level of the cave around you. Food is counted, and the more friends you have around, more food you spend. Friends and Walls block your path. The game loads the map from a text file inside the jar (not sure this was a good idea).
It is far from a ¨game¨, but it is shaping up — this is fun!
Now to add goals, maze events, your powers. I´m not sure I´ll have time to polish up the graphics and make a decent opening screen, but for a first time game project, with a library I never used before, I getting quite happy with the result!
Oh, and this! 😀
More progress as we finish the pause and menu states and implement the first working version of linking machine classes like doors and switches.
The blog post at From The Beginning has more information and a video demonstration.
Good luck once again to all, hope you’re enjoying yourselves as much as us.

The tielset and background look good :).
