LD28

I’m in! (Hopefully)

Hey there everyone! I’m a semi-experienced game designer and I’m gonna give this competition a shot. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish my game in time for the competition!

Here are my tools, game engine being the only mystery:

  • Engine/Language – 2D Unity (C#) or Java JAR using some Java engine
  • IDE – Xamarin for Unity C# or IntelliJ IDEA for Java
  • Art – Pixen for Mac and GIMP for other stuff
  • Audio – Sfxr for sound effects, don’t know about the music since I have zero musical talent
  • Since the rules say I need to state which fonts I am using before the compo, Fonts 04b03
  • Power – Iced tea, chips, misc other snacks 😉

Sounds like this is going to be fun. :)

Game Progress

Decided to ditch the whole Unity/Java deal and go with pure Coffeescript and canvas. Here’s what I’ve whipped up in about 100 lines of Coffeescript:

Demo

It’s pretty lame for now, but I’ve got about seven and a half hours for work on it until I must go to sleep. 😀

Out of the compo/jam

Due to issues with my tools I will have to drop out of this Ludum Dare compo/jam. In April I will hopefully be more prepared. :)

LD29

I’m in for my second Ludum Dare

I tried to get something worth submitting last LD, but failed pretty horribly. This year I’ll try as hard as possible to get it into the compo rather than the jam. Thankfully I have all my tools planned out this year:

  • Engine: Using Indielib if I want a 2.5d-style game. I’ll use LOVE2D otherwise.
  • Graphics: GIMP
  • Sound: Bfxr
  • Music: No knowledge of making music whatsoever. Might try to learn Milkytracker for next LD! :)

Hope everyone has an awesome time working on their LD game!

I’m in

Maybe I can whip something up in time. I’ll be using C++ for programming and GIMP for some simple art. Doubt I can make sound, but maybe I will with sfxr.

Time for jamming

I’ll actually be trying to develop a Ludum Dare game live in front of my local user group. I’m planning on using the following tools:

  • Programming: Unity (2D) or Java
  • Art: GIMP
  • Sound: Sfxr or something, might not get that far
  • Music: Doubt I’ll get that far
