This will be my first Ludum Dare. I’ve heard about this competition/jam for a while now. I have never managed to be free from previous obligations and whatnot when they occurred or I found out about them after the fact. So now this will be my first Ludum Dare, I hope it goes well, I’ve been practicing a bit the past few days with a few different software that I haven’t used in quite some time so that’ll certainly help.

I will be using C# with either XNA or in Unity, though Unity is more likely what I’ll end up using, we’ll see once this thing starts how I feel. I’ll be using Paint.net for graphics, Audacity and Fruity Loops for audio.

This will be my second Ludum Dare. I’m not 100% sure what type of game I will be making, but I do know I’m a couple hours late. I just got off work, so I’m gonna eat a pizza while I think up some ideas and rework some old code that I’ll be using. The first Ludum Dare I participated in I just had the goal of making something from start to finish in the time period, this time my goal is to learn something as well, which in my case will be to learn/re-learn SDL and work with C++ again which I hadn’t done in 3 years, so now is a good opportunity for me to do so.

I’ll be joining all you guys in LD #33 this weekend. I’ll be working with the following:

• C++
• Aven engine (game engine made in C++ with GLFW, LibVorbis, LibOgg, OpenGL, etc.) based off of TheCherno‘s Sparky Engine with some tweaks of course
• Paint.net, maybe Gimp? We’ll see.
• Audacity, internet for sound

“You are the monster…” Well I came into this LD late, as in I totally forgot about it until yesterday and didn’t really vote on any themes but I’m liking this one for sure.

After working all night trying to get my tile engine up and running (working in C++) I decided to put that on hold for another time and actually attempt to finish a game this weekend. I’ve decided I’m just going to be using Unity 5 instead of messing around with an unfinished game engine that I’ve worked on here and there so I can actually get a finished game, or at least a prototype that I could possibly expand on later if I like it enough.

I’m in this weekend for Ludum Dare #34. Not sure which theme I’ll be doing just yet, might do both “Two Button Controls” and “Growing”.

Trying to get a few others to join me, though they’d be a bit late if they do join. Either way I’ll just be doing the jam rather than the compo.

I’ll be using Unity 5.x.x with C# as the language of choice.

If I’m the artist, rather than a friend I’ll be using Paint.net for arting and stuff.

For audio it’ll probably just be Audacity + mic to create sfx, not sure about music if I get to it. Audio is always the last thing I do anyways, because I don’t have any good software, nor skill to make anything good.

All that aside I plan on streaming over on twitch at Twitch.tv/icedmetal57. Feel free to stop by and share some ideas, words of encouragement, complimenting me on my great choice of music that I’ll be playing in the background, or whatever.

Another successful ~~Compo~~Jam. Didn't have time to finish during the compo, so jam it was.

It's been a year or more since my last Ludum Dare. Decided to make a clicker game, something I've never made before, figured it was small enough in scope, and probably wouldn't get too many submissions that were also clickers, given the theme. Figured a clicker with a survival mechanic would be interesting, since clickers usually don't have a 'game over' state, typically increasing in numbers with no challenge. I've enjoyed making this game and already have ideas on how I could expand upon it: new features, extra content, possibly difficulty settings. Who knows.

Hopefully my next Ludum Dare is sooner than my previous.
