Rocket of Souls

Rocket of Souls - the game about how the sacrifice can change the civilization in the future.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW_qdAsd89c

The theme of Ludum Dare raises many interesting questions about the cost of innocent lives, about lost opportunities and resources. I decided to make a game about the destruction of The Earth and the last hope of finding a new home and create a new human civilization.

Imagine the last rocket on Earth, whose engine works on the energy of the souls of living beings. The best minds of humanity are in a containers, in a cryochambers. And the AI controls the rocket.

At the start, there is enough of energy to reach the goal... But in the path of the rocket, many asteroids arise. Each asteroid collision with a rocket increases the soul-fuel consumption. AI can shot to asteroids by the special cannon. But every shot requires the soul-fuel consumption.

And when the fuel becomes low, the AI is forced to get rid of a great people, to fill the reactor with the soul-fuel.

For whom are you willing to sacrifice? People of Art? Talented engineers? Great managers?

When the rocket reaches the destination, the people of the dominant profession will build a society that best suits their way of thinking.

Let's try to play my game to feel something important: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/rocket-of-souls

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

We tried to do something special but...

I have bad feelings. It was a first time when I didn't have a fun when I making this game. First of all we wasted time when we tried to make a great concept of the complex game about the garden in the space. And complexity of this concept exeeded all borders when I tried to realize it in code. So, 24 hours later after start the Jam I decided to simplify the game... And I am not happy with the game now. My team not agree with me, but it doesn't matter. It was an important lesson for me - do simple and find max time to polish a gameplay. But dispite this, I would be happy to take a feedback about our game, espessially about game design.

And I want to thank the team for working on the project. You are great people!

Noir dreams in deep hell

I have long wanted to do this. A noir visual novel where the story take place in hell. Previously, I only made games with dynamic game mechanics. So I thought that it was easy to make a game about character's phrases and choices of the answers. As it turned out, making a visual interactive story is not easy as it seems.

I know that games of this kind are not popular on Ludum Dare, but the main thing here is not to win but to take part. And if you love games with strog brutal story in noir style I will be glad if you play it.

Thank my amazing team(!): UVST (@uvst), Zhanna (@zhanna), Daria Semenova (@daria-semenova), Ulybka (@ulybka).

Thank Ludum for helping to make my dream come true!

Hey! Try to play Cat Connect

This Game Jam was difficult for me. I was realy tired after hard work week but I couldn't miss LD49. When we started LD I didn't have any idea what we will do. And first good idea what came into our heads was about the game where we trying to avoid lost connection. In the beginning we decided make a character The Cat and her friend The Ping (dont ask!=) ). So the gameplay should have been about the cat that connect by wire to Mr.Ping. And player would need to control characters separately. I completed the prototype and I saw that idea is not work. After that I made a new prototype where was a simple core idea - connect wires to right sockets so as not to lost many Internet-Packages (green slimes). If the Internet-Packages spawn too much the cat runs the risk to turn into glitch-form and lost connection. So such is the story.

Thank you for your attention!

I hope you enjoy the game.

Iron Harvest - Hardest game ever

We really wanted to make a simple game, but it turned out to be too complex and complicated. However, this happens to every LD.

The game came out to be difficult for the players and I'm afraid that many of them do not understand how to play it.

I would be grateful if you leave comments criticizing the game. Thank you!

Finally got around to creating a post-jam version. If you never played Ruchki yet, you have a chance to try this.

At the request of the players, I made the levels easier. But the game still requires a serious effort to deliver the item to the addressee. Thank for all who posted feedback in the game page, It realy helped me to imrove the game!

Slonokot Escape

ludum_splash.png

The idea of the game came to us in response to the discussion about the topic “Limited Space”. The first thing that came to my mind - "a bull in a china shop". Without hesitation, we began developing the game. Thus was born The Slonokot (mix of an Elephant and a Cat), who is trying to escape from the cramped laboratory of mad rat scientists from Pluto. The main idea is to create an expirience for the player of a limited space, where it is inconvenient to jump and move, and you have to literally push everything away.

The Slonokot

We will be grateful for rate of our game and will rate yours in return.

Mushroomaissance

For the first time, we are making a game jam project using Unreal Engine. It was a real challenge for both me and my team. Additionally, the concept required complex technical solutions. I think we did a decent job. Although there wasn’t enough time to create multiple levels, we will definitely develop a post-jam version with several levels.

The game, of course, turned out to be weighty  . This is Unreal! However we will be grateful if you play and leave feedback. Thanks!

Post Jam version available!

Due to popular demand, I improved the game and added a new level. I thank everyone who supported me and the team with feedback, helped with testing and suggested interesting game mechanics and improvements.

The most difficult task was recoding the fungal root growth algorithm. I had to divide the space into voxels between colliders, then use a custom pathfinding algorithm A* in 3D space, and then convert the resulting path points array into a spline onto which the root mesh is already attached. It was a very interesting challenge!

I hope the team has enough strength and resources to turn this prototype into a full-fledged game.
