Notch recorded sound for our game!!!

So… it was a normal Ludum Dare afternoon, and then who would stop by… BUT NOTCH!!

I know some of you will say it’s fake! but we have proof, he recorded this for our game: http://vocaroo.com/i/s0Ex6QpcgeTw

And if you still don’t believe us, then ask Notch himself!

Anyway, that was the motivation we needed, and now, look out fellow competitors! We have Notch on our side!

Wow, you’re so cool then!

I’m in! (Like many other people!)

Number 3!

Once again I am in (I think this is my third Ludum Dare)! I am using an engine my friend and I developed (technocf).

I shall be suing Brackets/PhpStorm as my editor. SourceTree for version control. Coca Cola as fuel and JavaScript as my chosen language. Here is my current setup in case anyone wanted to know 😛

I will also be streaming all of it at my twitch channel.

Have fun! :)

October Challenge Videos!

October Challenge

So it’s the first of October and I had an awesome idea at school! Each day I would work on my game, livestream it and then upload it too YouTube. So that’s what I did! If you wanna see the first episode then here it is:

Second Video! :)

October Challenge

Finally got round to uploading the second video – here it is:

So… I guess… I’m in?

As you may have guessed I am in (judging by the title). I will be using Java or JavaScript, haven’t decided as of yet as I need to get everything installed. (Just reinstalled windows)

Anyway here’s what I am going to be doing:

  • Graphics: Paint.NET
  • Language: Java/JavaScript
  • Sound: Fruity Loops
  • Food: Biscuits
  • Streaming: OBS
  • Homework: German Assessment

Let’s do this thing!!

LD33

We’re in, and we’re stealthy.

We are finally in! We have settled on making a stealth game.  Within the game you play as a criminal attempting to escape prison. In order to do this you have to play stealthy and not alert the guards. The game requires knowledge of previously accessed areas in order to succeed. Throughout the game, the difficulty increases making it near impossible to escape the prison.

You can watch the development process over at: twitch. There isn’t a full game yet, but it is well underway.

We’re starting again!

After about 6 hours of programming in Java, and about 4 hours of bug fixing and engine restructuring we decided it would be a better idea if we re-wrote the game in JavaScript, as it would be much quicker than writing it in Java. So yeah, we are about 8 hours down :)

Watch it here.

Finally!

Finally! We have some progress!

I might be in.

Hopefully I should be able to participate in this Ludum Dare, as long as I can’t get my work out of the way first. This will be my third or fourth Ludum Dare. I can’t really remember now,p. Hopefully, I will be using:

  • Java with eclipse
  • Maybe OpenGL, if not then software rendering
  • Paint.NET

If all fails then I will use HTML5 and JavaScript.

Handy Atom plugin.

If any of you are using JavaScript for Ludum Dare and happen to be using Atom, I made a handy little plugin to help you out. It’s called “class-complete” and makes it really easy to create classes in JavaScript.

Feel free to check it out.

Could have gone better…

So, after a couple of hours making my game in JavaScript, I decided it wasn’t for me this time. I have now decided that it would be a good idea to finally learn OpenGL and make a game in the process. So here goes…

Ludum Dare/First OpenGL game here we go…

Just started…

So with 9 hours left of the Jam I thought it was about time that I got going. So if you want to watch a game be created in ~9 hours, head over to, twitch.tv/nozzergaming (definitely not self promoting)

Playing games!

Hey everyone,

I am about to start playing and rating games over here.

Feel free to tune in and submit your game :)

LD36

I’m in!

I’m in!

This will be my third Ludum Dare, my first I hope to actually finish, and my first in C (but I’ll probably move to Java when I inevitably get tired and frustrated…)

I will be streaming *all* of the weekend over on Twitch.

SHAMELESS PLUG: I am currently streaming some dank preparation.

Tools (for C):

  • Atom/Vim
  • GCC
  • GDB
  • SDL2
  • Paint.NET/Photoshop

Tools (if Java):

Good luck everyone!
