First Ludham Dare…

My first ludham dare, and gee, there’s no way I’m going to be able to finish my idea. I’m using pixi.js and targeting the browser. All this work and all I’ve got to show for it in one lousy parallax starfield!!

Actually, not too lousy. Use cursor keys to move, or click and drag to fling the parallax around.

How do I add an image or link here… lets try. Click on the image to play with stars:

You have to load it twice to get the stars… cause I forgot to add image preloading! DOH! So many complexities!

And Im Going

My second ludham dare. First one I never finished.

So…. An unconventional weapon… I have an idea!

Will be doing HTML5 game. Using:

  • Pixi.js
  • clojurescript
  • krita
  • sxfr

Yeah dawg! Using a LISP for Ludham Dare! Its crazy!

This time I finish!

Pagodas are hard…

Buddhist Pagodas (Pagodi?) are hard.

Looks funny, but it really maxes out my comp’s CPU!

Actual Gameplay!

Finally some gameplay!

Make the villagers happy by chanting at them (space)

If you fart on their head (up arrow or w) then they get angry.

angry villagers throw stones

screenshot-5

HTML5 goodness here.

All done.

So there’s a few graphical glitches but nothing too bad. Good enough!

Completed my first ludum dare game (second time Ive tried.)

Play Marty Funk

screenshot-6

Cursor keys or a/w/d to move.

Land and start chanting with ‘space’. Chanting converts grumpy people into happy people.

Be careful not to fart on the happy people’s heads! It will make them grumpy again.

Beware of grumpy people, they throw stones!

When all the people are liberated and happy, you can progress levels.

Play Marty Funk

now for me to get some sleep… zzzzz.

The game is funny but the intro is annoying. I want to be able to skip the intro.

Aimlessly wander around

screenshot-001

I stayed up way too later last night and had a migraine all morning! Blew away eight hours, so the only way this will be a game is by going for the jam. A good nights sleep tonight and all day tomorrow will at least get it playable. So much to do though. Theres no sound at all atm.

Aimlessly wander around the shitty level here:

Next I need some sheep.

Animated gif and playlink.

So much left to do…

Hey I think there’s a problem with the game. I keep spinning around in circles but I just can’t seem to be able to catch my tail.

Im done!

I didn’t get it done it time for the compo, but I got it done for the jam. Back to work tomorrow, so have to go to bed. Did’t get everything done I wanted to. But it’s small fun, none the less.
