We be Jammin’

Team Mugshot
Hello everybody I’ve teamed up with a bunch of suspected psychopaths.

This will be our first time participating.

We’ll be using Unity c# for our code,
and a mixture of art applications.

Render of planetChunks
Delicious art renders, hmmm… The planet chunks wont actually end up this nice and spherical in game, we’re using 2d physics so all the chunks exist within one plane and orbit around a central point.
All Hail the Whiteboard!
and here’s us worshipping the almighty whiteboard.

In our game your hungry survivor group is stranded upon a planet shard and they will require ever increasing amounts of land to satisfy their needs.

the player needs to connect different planet shards via Grappling hook and make sure that those shards stay connected to feed the ever increasing population.

at-least that is the plan when we get around to working on actual gameplay ;)

and finally here’s a webplayer to our current build, There’s not really any gameplay to speak of. But it does set the stage for us to build on tomorrow.

Day two, Jam chaos.

I so hope we´ll find a better title before we hand this off to the glorious internet ghosts.

Here´s a screenshot for those of you unwilling or unable to run the unity web player.

We´ve moved away from the plane as a playing field, and instead went with the totally crazy plan to have the gameplay constrained to a sphere.
Its possible to connect the different planet chunks via harpoon, even though there are no gameplay reasons to do so… This… is a problem that we had hoped to have remedied by now. but life is life and at least we still got a day to go!

Day 3 make or break to turn this ´broken planet simulation´ into a ´broken planet game´.

ShitMyPlanet! is done!

And we’re done!

Its been a lot of fun and all of us are amazed at what we’ve managed to accomplish over this relatively short timespan.

While the gameplay is a bit untested, we’re very proud of the visuals.

the only thing we just couldn’t get in due to time constraints is the Audio effects,

Our game "When they leave, their drinks explode!" is finished

We started with a small team of four, but sadly the cards weren't in our favour this time around as we quickly lost our full complement. Staying motivated was one of the biggest hurdles this GameJam. but I did powerthrough to deliver to you a mostly complete game experience.

When they leave, Their drinks explode! is a partygame that is best played with a few local friends using gamepads. though it can be played alone with a keyboard aswell to get the gist of the game experience.
