Presenting the worst time-lapse ever !

And the least productive one :p

I made Swotch and pOp during this time-lapse… but also played video games. I’d not be a good worker !

Swotch and pOp : Overview

LD31 has been my first LD / Game Jam ever. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had just discovered Löve2D a few days ago when LD31 started. Some things went better than expected, while some others not.


First of all, I had time to create two games instead of only one. I first had the idea of pOp, a local multiplayer game, but a lot of people told me not to develop such a game, because it would be harder to try than 1-player games.

So, I decided to develop Swotch, an intense arcade game, before digging into pOp. I didn’t know I would have time to make both, though.

 

So, what went right ?

-Two playable and finished products

-Lots of polishing compared to all of my other games

-Good feedback from people, this really motivates me !

And… What went wrong ?

-I didn’t manage to add online scores. It worked at first, but I decided to remove it because it would make the final version lag a lot.

-No AI in pOp. You can only play with other people for the moment.

 

I would like to get even more feedback from you, players, to help improving my games !

And… Last thing… I’m actually porting Swotch and pOp to iOS and Android.

GROWL confusion – Various fixes

So, a lot of people have been complaining about my entry, GROWL.

GROWLSCREEN

 

The main drawback of my game is that people can’t seem to understand the gameplay mechanics. To me, it just summarises as “inverted Hexagon”.

There’s been a very annoying bug in GROWL for the past few days : the green path to the next note was not displayed properly. I think this has confused many players, so I just fixed it.

I also added a fullscreen mode -which you can enable/disable by pressing the “F” key-, and lowered the difficulty as a (very) few amount of people survived longer than 15 seconds.

 

I hope this little yet efficient update will let you, players, enjoy GROWL more.
