Some Progress :)
After some struggle with the theme I finally have some pixels on the screen

After some struggle with the theme I finally have some pixels on the screen

Just a quick rock shader for the.. hey might be cool to try out this triplanar stuff .. 6 hours later ... bubbles! godrays! seagrass! ...
Tomorrow I will start on gameplay - I promise! (But instanced fishes would also be nice)

After trying to start with gameplay programming the idea of scultping and animating a whale was to intense - I like the result though :)
I decided to switch from Compo to Jam! (I will however still do everything from scratch)

This was fun and I am tired.
I forgot to implement a way to quit the game so in a hurry I thought "the q button for quit is the best choice!" then I wondered why the game always crashes when I start playing... Q is one of the main control buttons - soooo maybe some sleep would be a good idea.
Thank you everyone! This was great! I can't wait to check out all the games :)
This year I teamed up with 3 other people :)
Maybe this year there might even be some gameplay! Last year:

We are very exited to see all the other games :)

After what felt like a century I finished! Thank you all for the great jam! Can't wait to check out your games!

Unfortunately I had not much time this year to rate games so I am very grateful that my game reached 20 ratings :) Thank you all for the great jam!
A friend of mine defined a new era of Morth II highscores with this run:

So if you think you can do better you can play Morth II BYAASKITFT here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/morth-ii-but-you-are-a-shopkeeper-in-the-forest-town

The glorious groovy gremlinz are live! Follow your quest to save the world from silence! It is your destiny. We are ready and tired! The game is glitchy and wyld(?) Build beats and share them :)

And don't forget to post your beats as well :)
Yesterday right before I went so sleep I saw that the challenge is live so today I programmed faster than light in order to finish my game for the highspeed 24h compo. :) I hope you like it!

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/52/radiance
Radiance is some kind of eye-candy-cookie-clicker-idle game. There are many interesting ways how this game could be expanded for which there was obviously too little time inside the 48 (24 in my case) hours :D.

The mood is slowly taking form. Warning: umbrella not included

Besides completely unnecessary details like rain droplets on the floor and a lot of tweaking of lightning intervals I began implementing some actual gameplay today.

I wanted a cool demon - so I thought it would be nice to make something that is far from conventional - I wanted something non-euclidean and in the best case high dimensional. The closest thing I came up with was a "3D" fractal - so I implemented a raymarching renderer inside a fullscreen shader so that I can render fractals that can be depth tested with the rest of the geometry etc. - It works (It is hungry though but I still get >200FPS while the fractal is fully in frame).
But I think I need something different for this game :D soooo maybe I lost a few hours but I will definetly find another project where a raymarcher comes in handy.

First "steps" towards the new demon with procedural animation.
I built a "FABRIK"-style solver to animate the legs, this makes the updates very efficient. The worst case would one update pass over 8 positions per phyics frame.
Weather rainy rainy
I made it in time :)

I fixed the WebGL build - it is not perfect but it works. Feel free to check it out :)

For the full experience I still recommend to use the Windows build if possible :)
