I am in~~~
I am pretty sure this will be my 12th LD! Pretty cool!
I am pretty sure this will be my 12th LD! Pretty cool!
So keen
First LD. Since it's the 48th I think it's really time to do it and stop saying "one day I'll do it". Know LD since years, never did it, it's time.
Going to use Game Maker. Really hope the theme will be inspiring. Might sleep some one hour and half before it...

I am so excited to be here again. I participated in LD45 and 46, but missed LD47 because of work. LD46 was my first introduction to the Unity game engine, since then I have grown and accumulated much more experience with larger projects using Unity. This jam, I will be flexing my brain muscles and trying out everything I have learned over the last year. Though I am down a teammate, back to a lone wolf indie game designer, I anticipate that this will be my best game jam yet!
Been sitting at my computer for the past 2 hours waiting, can it just start already
I have tried this several times before. I never finished. I am going to finish this time. This is my mantra. I'm not working with a team. It will all be created by me, with the exeption of using some public domain samples off of freeesound.org. My game will be published before 8pm Sunday Night CDT. Good or bad, you get full access to it. This will be a competition entry.
I am primarily using Godot, VSCode, and Blender. I will probably use other tools as needed. I will also be live-streaming this on YouTube (Sorry, Twitch). Everything that I do will be live. My channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC26WPrpFClF0ufdolno5wxQ
unity + blender
just got vaccinated earlier so i might drop out if i feel bad ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Third time in the game jam
I'm hoping the stars have aligned on this, the 48th LD48.
Please god, let it be a decent theme for once.
If its something like "You are the power source"... I will fucking cut you.
Here we go! I took 2 days off from work to prepare and fully commit to this one. LD47 wasn't very successful for me, but I am far more prepared this time. I'll be using my own game framework made in C#, jsfxr for sounds, and paint.net! Good luck everyone and have fun!
Sup, gamers? Are you ready for another round of Ludum Dare bliss yet? Twitching for some jamming? ‘Cause we sure are! Hyped up and full of energy, our team at Whales And Games is ready to participate again! :raised_hands:

This time around, our team will feature the usual all-star @JorgeGameDev doing his programming magic using Unity with his brand-new favourite IDE, Rider! Then there’s @moski at the art department using Clip Studio Paint - or Aseprite if we go pixel-art! And last but not least, @zachary-blystone will be cranking up the tunes and sounds with FL Studio! For team collaboration, we will be using GitLab, good-fashioned Google Docs, and trusty and reliable Itch.io!
Some of you might recognize us from some of our past entries. Some of our most notable previous participations include Petty Puny Planet from Ludum Dare 38, Jazzy Beats from Ludum Dare 40, Super Sellout from Ludum Dare 43 and, most recently, Woofice Chair from the last edition! We keep coming back since we continue having a great time here, experimenting with new game genres and having a wonderful time trying out everyone else’s games in this incredible voyage!

This week has been extra special for us because we just recently released Townseek on monday, an expansion to our Global Game Jam 2021 game from earlier this year. The reception was fantastic, and here we are again, mere days later readying up another game for next monday! That’s one hectic week!
If you’re a veteran, it’ll be a pleasure to display our game along yours once again! And if you’re new, well, welcome! Do your best and have a blast! There’s no wrong way to do a jam game, so experiment and go wild!
With all said and done, have fun on this challenging weekend! We’re looking forward to playing all those innovative experiences, first time experiments and wacky creations! You can also hit us up in our team's Discord if you’d like! Let’s go make games! :whale:
Having another ago, I am in using Unity.
A simple unity project set up for quick and easy game-jamming. github link
Fed up with spending hours during game jam implementing things you know you’ve already done in every project before?
Getting close to the deadline and worrying about whether you should spend time polishing your mechanics, or implementing menu screens and audio options?
Want a better alternative?
I did, so I’ve put together a simple unity project to work as a base template for pretty much any game jam game you can think of (that isn’t networked multiplayer - but seriously don’t even think about it when you’ve got less than 72 hours!).
Everything has been designed to be as modular as possible, with prefabs you can drag and drop into your scenes, with minimal dependency between objects. Don't need something? Just delete it.
Make a game!
But seriously, don't just download this, do nothing to change or improve the project, and then pass it off as yours. See this as a foundation you can use to build off, or just as a handy reference for those basic features that the vast majority of games have in some form or another. Don't upload this to the asset store and try to make money off it.
If you have any suggestions, bug reports, or just want to say 'hey thanks for this, it helped me make my game' drop me a message and I'll make sure I read it and try to address your points. And if you did make a game with this, it would be so awesome to play it - that's what this project exists for after all. Let me know you made a game with this and I'll prioritise it for review.
Everything is provided 'as is' and I won't be updating this during Ludum Dare/Global Game Jam (because I do those myself). Using this template requires you to understand the fundamentals of building games in unity engine, and basic c# programming knowledge. This project was designed and built in unity 2017 (long-term support) and I have not tested it with older or newer versions of the engine. Update at your own risk!
Hey all!
Excited to take part in this redundantly named LudumDare48, and I'm super stoked to try and finish something, plus seeing what you all end up with!

Going to most likely use Godot for this time. I'm very new to it so if I end up going with it, it'll probably be a chill low-key simple game. If that doesn't pan out... Hey, who doesn't love a good ol' text-based JavaScript game?
For art I have a secret weapon, and his name is @rollinkunz! He's a super cool guy with one of the sickest art styles on the block, and he's going to try and lend a helping hand this weekend (he's also recently his own boss, and obviously he's gonna kill it so go check him out and give him a follow!).
Good luck buddies, sleep, eat, drink, make!

I've participated a few times before. However, I've only submitted once. My goal is to submit another game this time around.
I hope everyone has a fantastic time making something fun!
Hi there, just some regular random web dev here, wanting to try give Ludum Dare a serious try!
I will be using C++ & Raylib as my main libraries for the 72h Jam. Most of the Art will be done using MagickaVoxel and PyxelEdit.
Not sure if some shameless self promotion but I will be streaming most of the time at twitch.tv/mindrage
I am a bit nervous because nobody has never played a game that I made, and I never released a game because I don't have too much money to spent on Construct 3 year license, but, in Ludum Dare, Construct 3 premium version gets free, so I am using it for my first game jam. Like I said, nobody has never played my games, so I am nervous for being judged. And Construct 3 premium is alredy free :) I am using Construct 3 and Fl Studio for my game (sorry for the bad english, I am from Brazil)
Once more I am attempting the jam, with Unity and some fun assets.
Hey everyone, after a year of gamedev, this will be my first gamejam ever :) Hopefully I won't mess up... and hopefully everyone enjoys the game I will create!
I've participated in last LD and this was the game I made: https://dadiaogames.github.io/stuck-in-a-deck/.
I love making strategic card games and this time I gonna make a better one!
