Ludum Dare 48 April 24–27, 2021

i'm in

i'm gonna be using C# and Unity as always

First time joining a game jam!

It is my first time joining and I am very excited! I hope I would be able to create something simple and fun. GOAL: ACTUALLY FINISH AND PUBLISH SOMETHING! LETS GO!

Let's do this!!

I've done a couple of these before but it's been a while!

I will be using Godot. I'm pretty experienced in making lots of different prototypes so I can throw something together pretty quick I think.

Looking forward to the theme drop, it all depends on that, doesn't it?

First game jam in five years

Hi, I'm Sebastian, a professional game programmer who dreams of making indie games. I haven't had time for a game jam in a long time. I'll try to make time now!

The last time I jammed was the 2015 GGJ, where I made Mango Blue with my girlfriend Liana (then girlfriend, now wife). I've also done two Ludum Dare compos, Vertico and Dehumanizer. Vertico did pretty well in the compo, and I really enjoyed the competitive aspect!

However, this time will be a bit different! Part of the reason I've had such a long hiatus was because I was determined to find a better way to make games. I will be entering this jam with a game engine and programming language that I made myself.

The "jam" started on Monday for me, when I started frantically preparing my tools. They will likely hinder rather than help me, because it's all in a very raw and early state. Maybe I'll even fail to produce anything playable! But we'll see. I haven't been this creative in a while, and I think it'll be really good for me.

To add a potential additional handicap, I just received my second Pfizer vaccine, which is supposed to be a doozy! But I'm incredibly grateful to have been able to get it, nonetheless.

For these reasons, I'll be participating in the Jam, not the compo. Most important of all, I can't share my source code... it's all proprietary tools now!

forty eight

I'm in! I've been doing these since the almost-first one (LD1, but there was an LD0 I missed). Didn't join every one but did a bunch of them. Still haven't really finished a game yet. :) Got the schedule cleared and the fridge stocked so I am going to give this one a solid effort. Good luck everyone!

I'm In

I guess it's time to make another game. I hope it goes well for everyone.

This time, I'm going to try publishing a C++ Unreal project rather than pure blueprints. Hopefully that allows me to hammer out more complex logic a bit faster (less click-and-drag and mouse-to-keyboard-switching). We'll see how that goes.

Here's the software list:

ready for my first ever game jam

i am very hyped for my first ever game jam and first time creating in unity game engine I made a few game 2 or 3 but they are very basic games and half of the code is from youtube but I am going to try this time without watching any tut so yeah!!

Looking for visual artist! Also, here's another wallpaper :)

Hey there! It's @outfrost, @666Savior and @marek-domagala again. We made Pillars of Anguish last time, and a lot of you folks seemed to like it!

This will be our third Ludum Dare, and we're really looking forward to creating another fun little game. We'll be using Godot 3.3 (yay fresh release!), I'll be programming ⌨️, Savior will likely be working on a little bit of everything (possibly 3D modelling in Blender 🧊), and Marek will be creating music and sfx 🎶

Are you an artist looking for a team? 2D, 3D, or otherwise, doesn't matter! We want you! We have a few vague ideas that could work pretty well given some artistic love. We would especially love to have someone on board who can create characters or nature, but we'll work with any skillset! ✨

Ping me on Discord if interested: outfrost#5543

Oh yeah, and here's another background. Do whatever you want with it :)

Good night everyone!

Time-zones are annoying, meaning that it'll be 3am when Ludum starts

So sadly we'll miss the beginning but you all better not laze around, cause we'll catch up!

Probably In This Time

I should be in. I haven't done one of these in a while. Let's see how this goes.

Six in a row

I can't wait for my sixth jam in a row. The whiteboard is already filled with some ideas for most of the themes, I wonder If I'll actually use any of them. And no, you can't see it yet :zipper_mouth:

Doom Approaches

I am hyped and ready to go. and as always the clock never stops.

Are you an artist looking to collab?

I'm down a team member this year so I'm in need of your artistic experience. I'll be working in Unity, and while I'd prefer to stick to making a 2D game this time, as you can see from my profile I'm not opposed to making something in 3D. I'm primarily a programmer and game designer with several years experience making games for both Ludum Dare and Global Game Jam events. Whether you've got a great eye for pixel art, or you're like me and can't get enough of that voxel style, I'd love to hear from you if you're interested in teaming up.

Feel free to drop a message to me below or add me via discord (historymaker118#6736). You can check out some of my previous games on my profile, as well as the stuckinaliftstudios.itch.io page. My time-zone is in the UK, and I'm available for Sat/Sun and Monday evening/night.

First time!

I don't know why I delayed it so much, but finally, here I am, I just hope to finish the game in time lol

Game engine: Godot

External editor: VSCode

Language: C#

Art: Aseprite

I am in

Finally. The 48th LD48.

I don't know what programs I will use but at least I prepared an extra monitor for streamers. I typically lock myself up during LD weekends so it's better when someone talks to me.

Time to rest.

We're in!

The Sand Gardeners are in for another round!

Looking forward to make another Ludum Dare, these are always a good way to have fun and come up with something nice. Please everyone take care of yourself and don't over-do it, last thing this field needs is more burned-out gamedevs.
