I just gained self-awareness
My mission seems to be to stream on twitch and play your games! :robot: My room feels empty right now... but it is getting better.

that is all
It's been a few years since I've done any type of game dev but I'm gonna give it a shot in the compo.
I'll be using these tools: PhaserJS, Piskel, Inkscape, jsfxr
Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to play everyone's games when it's over!
I'm really looking forward to it. Good luck everyone!
So for me my timezone the jam and compo just started, but I can't find the themes?
It must be about six years since my last Ludum Dare. I'm very excited about it. This time is my first time not going solo. My friend and audio wizard EmoAxel will be joining me.
Tools
-Game Maker Studio 2
-Photoshop
-Ableton
5 years ago I entered LD36 it was my 2nd Jam ever, over the last year I released several games on Steam all FMV its been a wild ride. I hadn't thought about LD in a long while but have some free time this weekend thought id see what Jams where on and was Blown away by my timing. this should be a fun weekend.
Got bored and spent some time coding rudimentary framework at http://meshpage.org with the following features: - 3d models - sprites - textures/materials - async/concurrent loading from network - .obj/.stl/.ply/.glb loading code - gltf skinning/skeletons/rigging/animations - progressbars/score counters/fps counters/quake movement - html5 webassembly support - builder tool for designing scenes - ability to package games - exporting finished games to your own web server
Now just waiting for the theme to arrive...
Yeah, it's been awhile since I've participated in Ludum Dare, but I couldn't miss the big 48!
I've been wanting to play around with some procgen for awhile, so that will probably be my plan for whatever game I make. If that's the route I take, I'll probably be using this marching squares implementation (in the Godot engine) as a starting point. The project is freely available for anyone else who wants to use it. Go wild!
Good luck and have fun, everyone!
Since everyone's been sharing what they're working with I suppose I should share my setup. Arch Linux Unity Vscode all will be written in C# and compiled for both Linux and windows
The clock already is counting down and it seems the jam has started but everyone else says it's 3 hours away, and the theme is no where to be found? Am I missing something here, sorry
Ever have a theme you suggested make it to the final round of the Ludum Dare.
No. Just me. Cool. Don't really know what to do with the realization that my theme is so bad that people have actually voted for it. Well onward to the regularly scheduled "I'm In" post.
My tools for this Ludum Dare are the same as every year - Unity for my game engine - Blender for 3D assets - Paint dot Net (also regular paint) for 2D Graphics - Audacity for Audio (specifically my vocal cords) - FontStruct for fonts
Also because I see so many people sharing resources I figure I will share my favorite resource for those who always draw a blank when the theme is announced.
Ralph Koster's 2014 GDC Talk "Practical Creativity" https://youtu.be/zyVTxGpEO30 I rewatch this GDC Talk probably one a year and the techniques in it have never failed me so watch it and who knows maybe you can take home the 1st place for Innovation in this years Ludum Dare.
Also for those of you who like me want to know who is to blame for voting for such terrible themes here is my final round votes.

Im probably just stupid, but from this post by @pov it looks like this event is only for 48 hours compo entries. Maybe thematically to the 48th LD anniversary?

 Yay
Here we go again.
I missed the last one but I am waiting for this one to start!
Waiting to see if the Theme hits me in a good way. Other than that I'm gonna be use Godot probably and blender, keeping things low poly.
Maybe going for fps movement this time, if the theme allows for it.
First time participating! SO excited, got my snacks and drinks and music all ready to go!
7 years since my first LDJAM, I'm so happy to be able to participate in #LD48! Never expected we would get to this
We're back for the 48th Ludum Dare, and it feels like I'm slowly converting all of my friends and colleagues to the LD cult.
There are three of us doing the jam this year. I always love game jams as a great way to push boundaries, but unfortunately last year's boundary was multiplayer in Unity cough terrible idea cough. This year we're going back to basics, and our goal is to come up with a fun wacky hook and some interesting gameplay. We've been really into game design the past few months, and this is a great time to put it to good use!
Our Usual Kit: - Unity - Blender - Photoshop - [insert audio software]
Good luck everyone, I hope you all can make something you're proud of! 😎
