Progress Animation
We're diving deeper into this idea, but progress is a little slower than I expected.

Still a lot of work to do, but it actually looks like a game now.

The next step may well be the hardest: coding the enemy AI. I've programmed enemies that can move along pre-determined paths, and act at pre-determined times, but these enemies need to actively seek out the player and fire upon them while avoiding obstacles. I've never done this before. But that's what this jam is for: doing things I've never done before.
Here goes nothing!
Its my factual second Ludum Dare, and i wanted to get into it with some light MetroidVania. Given it is about delving deeper and deeper into a labyrinth
Have a picture

the surrealism of red block with white block gun in tiled world

I cant find the submit butoon and where i choose if i submit to the compo or jam?
Do the rules of participating in compo alone apply to playtest or can I send my game to my friends to receive feedback?

A day working mostly on game design, pixel art, mockups... before delving deeper into programming this stuff and make it move ! Happy LD48 to all
it's a clicker game! drill the earth for gems!

I started late but managed to get this much done in 6 hours. Which is the "core" of the game. The game is called "To the Core" and is based loosely on the Movie The Core with Hillary Swank.
Dig deeper and deeper to the core to place the nuke and make it back out in a time limit. Collect ore for power and avoid hazards (still to be added). If you run out of power its game over!

Next up some actual gameplay.
It's ok for the UI, let's play :)
Choosing pictures is ok. I use some assets from Adobe Stock.

I just have some buttons to add on the screen and fix a repaint bug in the circle background.

Back on Twitch in an hour after a short pause.
Hey guys!
First time participating in Ludum! I'm here to show you a little of our process of creating one of the items in our game: "Magicards and The Elemental Kingdoms".
We will not follow the chosen theme, but one of them is "Summoning", haha
We'll continue to strive! The projects I'm seeing are getting incredible, congratulations to all the warriors!
Pls, give us feedback of what you are thinking about it!

Hi everyone, first Ludum dare for us. We are a team of 3, a programmer, a game designer and an artist. We are quite happy with how the game progress, we currently have the procedural generation for our map, some basic deplacement for the crew of the drilling machine and the asset of the machine.
We are often checking how others teams progress but it seem so far that we might end up with a game!
Looks like we've made some progress boys!

hey! we're making a multiplayer fighting game :)
Tools: Construct 3, Ableton Live, Aseprite

I am making a game for the few that can see autostereogram Can you see the shape in 3D ?

you should see that with the oblique bar on top of the plane with a hole

Gameplay is mostly done, you are falling deeper and deeper through holes, you have to move your paddle to fit. It's a classic ! The twist is in the 3d visualisation with autostereogram and you should go deeper and deeper into trance!
Any comments are welcome!
This theme is a though one hahaha! It is a bit late already but I am going to still give it a try! I decided to start making some drawings using Inkscape and started building my game using the Godot Game Engine! Here is a little update!
Current stage: - idea generating - done - Was too ambitious, started scaling game down done - idea refine + make a plan - done - code + early prototype - WIP - graphics - WIP - stable alpha - - stable beta - - sounds + music - - polish - - Final Game -
- 2 hr progress
- 9 hr progress
Doing some Mock Ups :)
Going an obvious route with the gameplay, but it all comes down to the execution i'd say.
