Ludum Dare 50 April 2–5, 2022

Iniam again... finally

Wow, 8 (EIGHT) LD's have seen the light of day since i last participated successfully and finished a game. I tried a couple of times since then, but there was always something that sucked away all my time that weekend (mostly work).

But now, finally, for this special occasion, i will make it work. We just had a baby, so now should be the perfect time, right ;p ? Can't sleep much anyways, lol.

But with the option to go 'extra' i should have enough time to finish something at least, but as always the most important and difficult thing is for my ambition to match my time budget. The setting might be something related to my recent experiences, i have a few ideas already, hehe.

So, have a nice jam everybody, goeth forth and codeth

We're in !

For most of us (including me) in our team of 9, it's gonna be the first Ludum Dare (for some, even the first jam!) but I already picked up the traditionnal "we're in" post. ;)

So yeah, Bottled Up Studio is in ! Tools: - Engine: Godot

We aim at making a 2D game with a nice story and innovative mechanics and polished audio-visuals. But the most important is to have fun and express our creativity ! Good luck to all! (even if the theme is gonna suuuuuuck XD) BottledUpGames.png

Let´s get this party sta.... aw... I´m sorry for that but I am very excited!

ILIKESCIFIemGames/emBigemy/emv2.png After over 1 week in bed with my friend Corona, the fever is finally gone and I have decided to try Ludum Dare #50! I say "try" because i dont know how focused I can work after 5 days of fever. But since I love LD and have been part many times I just need to be part of this! 20 years man! How cool is this! Congratulations team!!!

Have fun everyone and I cant wait to play your games! And of course to show you my game!

All the best / Jot / ILIKESCIFI Games

PS: I will not vote for any of the themes since I want to be 100% surprised what the theme will be! Oldschool!

LD50 Wallpaper

Hey everyone, just thought I join the wallpaper game! Here's my contribution. Happy 50th LD, y'all! ld-50-wallpaper-v01.jpg

Bonus theme - ECHOES

So regardless of the actual theme, I propose a bonus theme of echoes as it was ironically in each round of voting leading up to the final round.

Im in!

Hello all Foolers out there!

My name is Erox and im a solo-developer from Sweden! Im joining LD50 but unfortunately i have a DnD session this Sunday so im either going to do something small for compo or post a jam game. Either way, im excited! 🙌

Because people love these, here are the stuff im using:

🕊️ GameMaker: Studio: Gamemaker is game engine i’ve always used, and love it dearly!

🕊️ Aseprite: When i need to animate something very precise, i use this! A very nice pixel art program, i like it…10/10!

🕊️ BeepBox: I make music right inside there, in that little spot right there!

🕊️ Bfxr & Audacity: With these, i make beeps and boops and crazy sounds!

🕊️ Trello & Google Drive: Here i do my game concept, ideas and to do lists!

🕊️ itch.io: This is my go-to place when uploading my games, very nice!

Have a wondeful Ludum Dare y’all! I’ll be posting updates here on my feed of the progress!

In (!) for an Extra special LD

I am going to try my best to participate in this 20th LD through the new amazing Extra option. If nothing else, I will hopefully get something together for the deadline and if not, want to contribute by playing and rating the rest of your wonderful creations. Good luck, have fun! <3

I'm in for Compo.

It looks like I'm finishing a game every second jam. Let's at least make it consistent.

According to schedule I should be able to create game using: * Pixi.js / LibGDX(libKTX) * Typescript / Kotlin * Krita for Art * GarageBand or Ableton for music

See you all there. Good luck and have fun!

Shameless plug, lesgo

10 hours, 53 minutes, 23 seconds and I am writing this stupid post.

I'm gonna be streaming on Twitch, so if you feel like it, hop on and say funny words: https://www.twitch.tv/infinitivoidex

Good luck ya'all!

Ludum Dare 50 keynote is out!

I figured I'd post about this since Mike hasn't updated the event info, and some people might not see the "Welcome to Ludum Dare 50" post, but the keynote is out now. You can check it out here:

GLHF everyone!

Joining again!

This will be my second Ludum Dare after taking part on 46. Hopefully will get back again on making games. Will be doing it solo for the COMPO and using Construct 3. Really looking forward to playing and sharing games again!

I'm in

This will be my first Ludum Dare. Just started a little over a month ago with game development by jumping straight into Pico-8 and a roguelike game jam. Then before that finished took on an endless jam. First jam was about 2 weeks, second was only about one week, and now trying this one in 48 hours. Seems like a fun way to spend a weekend.

Good luck to all!

In for 50th

Going to try to to make a small game for the jam with whatever spare time I can find! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

The Bois are Back in Town!

Last jam our team missed the deadline for the first time since we started doing Ludum Dare, which was a bummer.

The good news is that since then we've begun the process of forming a game development studio so that we can make games in a professional manner.

Our new studio's name is Windy Bois. We're a team of passionate designers, developers, artists, and musicians who have been living (and working) together for over 5 years! We're like one big creative family and we're super pumped to start tackling our dream. We will be releasing our first game Blob on the Job this coming month on iOS (and hopefully Android).

Here's our team for the jam:

Project Management and Programming - @bamallama

Art - @itzdaneko & @icyysilver

Music - @bgcrausen

Design and More! - Potentially @cbarkinnies

Check out our progress (and please follow us ) over on Twitter click here!

I'm in for the 50th LD !

Will be using those awesome applications :

  • Godot 3.5 Beta
  • LMMS 1.3 Alpha
  • Krita 5

Why would you need anything else :)

Imin. I mean, I'm in.

I was going to join in with a friend but due to personal issues he isn't in the mood so I'm going solo and this is my first Jam. Let's see how it goes.

Im going full open software: Godot, Libresprite and Blender.

Also praying for Folklore to be a official theme! See you on the storm.

A first attempt

Hi, I'm Kenny

This is my first game jam

Why not? I'll attempt to make something cool to submit to the Jam. I'm not an artist, so I won't be submitting in the graphics/audio categories. I've never participated in a game jam before, so I'm excited to attempt this.

Resources I'll use:

  • Phaser
  • LPC assets
  • Freeware audio
