Happy jamming
Ignoring my students this weekend to jam. I'm sure they will understand.
im so hyped its the first time i enter ludum dare
We are macaroni.dev, a husband-and-wife gamedev studio. This will be our 5th Ludum Dare! We can't wait to make a new game we never could've imagined - and we're excited to play everyone else's.
Here's the stack we've been iterating on for years: - Art and animations made in Clip Studio Paint - Custom Haskell engine built on.. - SDL2 - sdl-gpu - cutec2 - cutesound - apecs - A mountain of other Haskell libraries - Developed on NixOS - Cross-compiled for Windows with mingw and haskell.nix - Music made with klystrack - Sound effects synthesized with sfxr-qt and edited with csound-expression
Good luck everybody!
Will be using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. My goal is to make the game as complete and feature rich as possible in a 48h period.
What's up everybody ?!
Alongside my teammates Adam and Leah, I will be participating in my 3rd Jam later this afternoon.
Good luck to all and have lots of fun! :hearts:
Hoping to make something. Hoping that something is good. Got a job since my last dare and haven't been doing as much art as I have in the past, so hoping I'm not too rusty.
Hi, I think it's pretty obvious question, it all depends on the casino itself, because many use unfair methods to cheat players so of course it all depends on your choice, I can recommend you the best casino I've seen https://playamo.org/login , it's all transparent and you can not worry about the honesty of methods.
Its our first jam! Really excited to be a part of it. Good luck to everybody !!!
Oh man. It's that time again already, isn't it? LD50 snuck up on me while I was busy doing music projects. Unfortunately my usual coding cohort @daanvanyperen cannot make this edition, predominantly preoccupied with professional programming predicaments. This means I will break out the ol' Twine 2 once again, like I did with Confined for LD47, and do something text-based once more.

As tradition dictates, wallpapers must be made. I kept it simple, just one image in 4k and HD, you can get them from this imgur album.
Thus concludes the also traditional I am in declaration. Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone!
Efe Berke and I will join the LD first time as a team! Hope we will improve our skills and have fun.
Hope you'll all enjoy!! :v:
This will be my 17th Ludum Dare participation since 2014.
I'm a solo gamedev focused in creating games with strong mood (social, political, mental healthness, and other themes)
I also make entertainment games with all types of themes. Check my Steam page
I'll be using Unity, Aseprite, SoundDraw and Bfxr
Good Luck for us all, have fun.
LD49 was my first game jam, and my main goal was just to finish. I definitely accomplished that goal, and I ended up fairly happy with my game. On the successful side, I personally found it fun to play, I thought it was reasonably polished given the time constraints, and I scored well on art.
On the downside, the game was a bit too difficult, mainly due to unintuitive and tricky player controls, the idea and mechanics weren't as interesting as I would've liked, and I didn't manage to include music.
My goals this time are going to be a little bit more ambitious (but hopefully not too much so). My main goal, aside from finishing again, is to do something where the idea is a little more interesting and thematic and features human characters. I also want it to be more intuitive and easier to pick up and beat. Bonus points would be actually making some music this time, but we'll see.
Good luck, everyone!
Folklore definition: The traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, passed through the generations by word of mouth.
Do myths and legends count here? Examples could be Greek Mythology or the Legend of King Arthur.
By the above definition, anything that has been written down wouldn't count as folklore. Then again, by 2022 I'm pretty sure everything has been written down at this point, so maybe we can ignore that part of the definition.
As far as the "community" part, maybe that's where the line would be drawn. "Community" perhaps implies a group of people that is smaller and more localized. Legends and myths tend to be fairly widespread and well-known, so would that disqualify them?
For the record, I'm just curious as to people's thoughts and thought this might be fun to discuss. At the end of the day, it probably just comes down to semantics and whatever "Folklore" means to you. 😊
Any thoughts on this?
I'm going in solo again, and with my usual setup:
It's almost as if this LD caught me by surprise, so far I haven't even managed to check out the themes properly.
I guess I will just go on and hope inspiration strikes. Worst case scenario, expect a Minesweeper clone from me
As always, good luck folks!
Hey guys, last year for Ludume Dare 49 we built this https://enverarco.itch.io/finbirds. We’re looking for developers, level designers and artists. The more the merrier. If you’re interested you can join our server here -> https://discord.gg/F4jV4NXU
We’ll be using Unity as a game engine and would like to build a game using web3 and possibly multiplayer as one of our developers has experience with this.
I'm occupied with classes until mid April, but thanks to the new format I'll actually be able to join!
I've been itching to make sort of bullet hell or retro shooter so I'll see how the theme plays into that, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm gonna put extra effort into making some cool tunes for this. Something Touhou-like maybe.
Going to be using: * Unity * Asesprite * Blender (if 3d) * Mixcraft
Good luck to those doing the jam on the actual weekend (´• ω •`)
Last year I wrote a blog post all about how to get players all the way to the end of your jam game! I cover lots of tips I've gathered over 8 years of jamming, from easy changes to fundamental design decisions that can push players away before they've seen the best parts of your game!
