Ludum Dare 50 April 2–5, 2022

Managed to Finish.... Barely

I Had a lot of trouble in the beginning and was forced to switch engines, but I managed to bring something to the table:

Congratulations to everyone who managed to make their game on time!

Third Compo in a row complete!

Oof, this one was tough for me. Struggling with the theme was followed by struggling with the programming. Bit of a bit more than I could chew programming-wise. Managed to get over the finish line though!

Wish I had more time for level design, but I hope you get a kick out of Fuse Lit!, a tiny puzzler about fuses and explosions: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/$285504

Aaaaalright, time to go to bed and wake up for work the new week in 4 hours :) Can't wait to check out everyone's work in the coming weeks!

Fitted the game in three game jams at the same time!

Play my game!

I am really proud of myself. I made the game to comply to the rules of the three game jams and besides the game being less polished than i wanted, it worked out!!!

To comply to Ludum Dare 50, the station explosion can't be avoided, but can be delayed when you destroy the asteroids.

To comply with Mini Jam 103 (being your own enemy) the player can destroy the scape-pods and the send asteroids in to the station direction, causing damage.

To comply with Black and White Jam 8, the game uses cel shading and is entirely B&W and to comply with the "loop" theme, the ship keeps flying around the station.

Now let's see the note i'll receive... I'm not expecting much after all those shenanigans...

Didn't make it in time for the compo - Jamming it is

I had hoped to finish my game for the compo, so I can get this madness behind and get some rest and get back to normal life.. and mainly because I would just love to finally submit something to a compo after all these years. Even though I have something that is 'playable' I'm not done yet and I rather spend a bit more time on finishing and polishing the game and adding a proper ending than submitting something half-assed. So I hope I'll be able to spend the extra day wisely and make something I'll be satisfied with.

Behold the current state of the game, it has 'art' now! Day2Progress.png

I'm looking forward to seeing and playing all your creations. It takes a lot of discipline to not start playing the submitted compo games already, but I've got a game to finish!

Finally finished one!

Finally finished a Ludum Dare, and it's in time for compo too! There were a lot of things to reflect upon but it's finished!

Working on a Web build once I get a good sleep.

Play my game here if you're interested!

Finally finished a compo!

Hey all!

It wasn't easy at all but I managed to publish an entry for Compo for the first time! I've joined some past LDs (mostly quietly), but never got to "ship" anything until today!

Here's a screenshot of my entry, Doomsday Cult:

It's about stalling a game of cards in order to earn resources and bargain with a cosmic horror for a less tragic end of the world. It's quite a simple game.

I hope you all had fun during this event, and I look forward to play every entry in the next few days! Cheers!

Time to rescue the Polar Bears!

Check out our Ludum Dare Jam!! Save the polar bears from definite doom by transiting them across icy planets! Eventually they will all die, but how long can you prolong their existence?

Looks like it's a JAM game

I hit a snag right at the end; a game breaking input bug. It's fixed now but I've got no time left to do the final few tasks.

Here is a screenshot of the end game, when the creep has extended across most of the screen and the player is running out of factories.

Missing the Compo deadline does mean I now have a 99% complete game and a day to go for the Jam. I think I will spend the time polishing and maybe adding a few features I had to cut.

Congrats to everyone who has finished and submitted.

Ravenous!

All done! Except for half of my to-do list.

The end result is a semi-functional first person RPG with a dark twist in which you try to delay the inevitable death of your 200 year old grandfather that is stuck in the hospital while obtaining absolute power.

I guess I made a game  ! I'm quite happy with the end result, even though I had to cut a few corners.

Good job everyone who submitted a compo entry, and best of luck to those of you still working on the Jam (or Extra)

Done!

End result of a day working on a game where you control a bird (I didn't know this was happening until last night). I'm happy with it but I could totally do more!Screenshot 2022-04-03 215303.png
