Ludum Dare 50 April 2–5, 2022

Tech Test S.A. your expiration is inevitable :D

Welcome to TEST TECH S.A. Our results are our most important thing. Your unwilling participation, and expiration is deeply apreciated.

Tech test is a prototype game, made solo by Mauricio Albanese, for the ludumdare 50. based on the theme "delkay the inevitable".

In TECH TEST a company has bringed a "Voluntary subject" to its company test grounds to try out the new mech's, weapon's and arsenal that they are developing in a flurry storm of metal, laser's and misile's. As TECH TEST logo say's your expiration is expected, and greatly apreciated. Drones and mechs wont stop spawning until you meet your inevitable fate, in fact they will increase in number's. all for the sake of TECH TEST.

CONTROL'S: move: w,a,s,d

shoot: left mouse button (LMB).

In TECH TEST your inevitable fate is met not by a timer. but by your own skill. You will die, but at your own pase. Your HP is linked to your controller's, each control is worth 2 hp. meaning that you have 10 hp. for each 2 hp you loose you will loose briefly the use of one of the control's. But if you survive long enoughyou can regain them again. This means that every time you loose a control and enemy's are greater in number will bring your expiration even sooner... all for the sake of TECH TEST result's.

Have fun and good luck.

"Tick Tick", a very fast, fun, action-puzzle game!

I made "Tick Tick" for this Ludum Dare. Tick Tick is a game about trying to delay a bomb from blowing up. There are 2 items, Water which gives you another second to live and Fire which sabotages your chances. You manage an inventory-like UI system and these items are placed into the inventory at random places. Quickly but carefully choose the water in your inventory in order to delay the inevitable explosion! tt ss 1.png Link to the game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/tick-tick

Ratings

Are we able to give ratings on Compo's now? I cant see a button?

Music and Sound Effects trick...

I used Audacity to reinterpret binary executable file data from programs like Photoshop and the Windows native file explorer. The results sound exciting and fit the aesthetic of my lo-fi game for Ludum Dare 50 quite nicely.

It was hard

I hardly finished my project. Unity toake so much time this is awful. Every time I did small change in my scripts I was forced to wait minute or more to compile it and even more 'couse when I needed to launch preview I also needed to wait Unity. And there was also build errors. I wanted to build my game for html5 but Unity had said "no" and threw a build error. In GameMaker Studio 2 there never was problems like that but it less flexible than Unity and there is no c# feature and so on.

Fight against Death

Hey, checkout my game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/anonymous-vs-death

There you can kill Death itself. By my feelings, this attempt was better than at LD48 (previous) but I didn't have time to finish some details. Level design also sucks but I like how I made explosion physics.

Things are getting scary

I'll have to deal with a minor animation bug that will stick out like a REAL sore thumb if I leave it in. It's been frustrating me for a bit, and that's where I think I should stop for now.

My absolute BIGGEST fear right now is this becoming another Ludum Dare 49 for me; as in, having ANOTHER mental breakdown. At worst, this game can't even be called a game. Why did an idea take so damn long to arrive?

Entropy

First compo submission. title.PNG

You are a nuclear scientist working on the ENTROPY ENGINE - a revolutionary new reactor that can generate limitless energy for humanity. The only catch is, it’s unstable. Given enough time, the radioactive particles emitted by this engine will eat through the walls of the reactor.

Try it out!

Welcome to the WorLD!

Last Minute Game

For life reasons I was planning on sitting this LD out. I was very miffed seeing as how I missed the last jam. But today (last day of the compo) I had an idea in the shower and thought, what the hell, I'm going to just bust something super simple out. I needed to get it out of my system.

So I managed to finish a really simple and crappy game in just a few hours. It felt great. If you want, check out my dumb game about delaying your fate of nuclear annihilation.

Jam entry - Stay Afloat

My Jam entry (first real game jam ever!) is called Stay Afloat. I just published it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/stay-afloat

You are a robot of last years model. Your manufacturer wants to sell new robots, so they send out updates that drain your battery. Your only chance is to get to the last point on Earth with no Internet connection - the tropical island of Nowifi. Unfortunately your plane crashed just before getting there. Jump between floating (but sinking) debris, and manage your power usage so you don’t run out of battery.

The game can be played on Unity Play: https://play.unity.com/mg/other/stayaloatfinal

Bunnies, Slugs and a Carrot are in the future

Congrats to all !

It was the first time I made LD in compo :) what a nice experience! I've tried the Construct3 3D feature and I think I will explore it more on commercial games.

You can try my entry in your browser https://blumgi-lab.itch.io/carrot

Everything will be just fine

I'm sure this will work out in the end. Hang in there buddy.
