Taking advantage of that sweet sweet Extra category!

Nutty Mutt tells the story of a little dog who must create some mischief in order to disrupt and delay his human's morning routine to avoid his fateful vet visit for as long as possible.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfUf2YjyWDY

Long story short, we grew to love this project and quickly learned that while the possibilities for mischief are endless, the weekend is not. So instead of tossing a bare bones version into the ring just to make the Jam deadline, we're going to take advantage of the awesome new Extra category and give the project a little extra love.

Looking forward to playing everyone else's amazing entries in the meantime! Hope everyone has enjoyed this milestone of a jam as much as we have. =)

What do you think our Günther would most likely listen to for music?

Warm welcome to German “Günther”! 🇩🇪🍺🌲

What do you think would Günther probably hear while going fishing on a beautiful river?🏞

We thought about something like this - Sneak Peek of our soundtrack!🎧

Follow us to let Günther know you support him and keep the latest updates about his (and our) successes! Thanks to @david-shou for the soundtrack!

And also let us know if you like the song in the comments!

Black hole for dummies

This was EXTREMELY exhausting, but very COOL! For the last 5 LDs I have worked in a team. This time, due to the circumstances, I tried solo. What can I say... Difficult but fun!

I managed to finish and submit the game just in time. And I think I did very well!

I also really hope you enjoy my game.

LDJAM 50 Devlog: second day

first day: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/$276430/ldjam-50-devlog-first-day

We have a main menu now: screenshot of a minimalist main menu with four buttons which say IntergalacticBypass, TrialVersion, MoreIron, and Random

And also a proper intro (with randomly generated alien names): screenshot of Colonel Lee in space with a mug in their hand and text that explains they are enjoying coffee screenshot of spaceship bridge with an alien on screen. below there is a dialog box which says "We are the pm'tk yeu wjjhs." screenshot of spaceship bridge with an alien on screen. below there is a dialog box which says "pm'tk yeu wjjhs: As you know, an intergalactic bypass will be build here."

There is an additional spaceship: screenshot of space with planet earth. in the foreground there are several "spaceships": four UFOs and two yellow school buses.

And also an outro: screenshot of destroyed planet. in the foreground, there is an alien along with a dialog box which says: "dkx'sfv uae wmw: Would you like to answer a few questions regarding your happiness with our product?" At the top there is a text mentioning "4196 evacuated".

There are three different scenarios/levels—each with their own story, graphics, and music. We also plan to make them increasingly more difficult.

You can play the current state already on http://regenbogenmarmelade.frama.io/ldjam-50. Here is an impression of how it looks like: https://assets.octodon.social/media_attachments/files/108/073/135/000/196/718/original/160678567fc71eef.mp4

Aptly driving myself mad writing cosmic horror

Congrats to everyone who finished in time for the compo.

As usual, I've bitten off more than I can sensibly chew and my brain's starting to glaze over... Never been good enough at scoping to get a game done in two days, but hopefully I'll finish this one in three.

It'll all be worth it in the end, right...?

People still play text-based games... right...?

Going mad whilst writing cosmic horror isn't a trope... right...!?

Lots of progress, Lots still to do

Things are looking better. The card art is really sweet :)

It turns out that there are a lot of challenges related to building a card game that I hadn't previously considered, like how to animate all of the cards and properties, and all of the different card effects. But it's coming together. Hopefully we have time to finish it all later today, but I need some sleep first.

Playing Dave or how to delay your dismissal thanks to teleworking

This is Dave, he partied last night and (oh, how could it be possible?) he is sick today... He is a game developer that should send his boss the prototype he's been "working on" for two weeks.

Captura de pantalla 2022-04-04 a las 12.04.48.png

Obviously, he has nothing to show, so: how can he DELAY HIS INEVITABLE DISMISSAL? Well, getting his friend to impersonate him.

Will a sound designer be able to work as a game developer and delivery a good game on time?
