Damn Unity 6000.2.6f2

We just saw that there was a HUGE memory leak due to Unity 6000.2.6f2 that we did not see with or 64Go RAM PCs !
We fixed it by downgrading to Unity 6000.0.x (LTS version).
It now works !

Here the link to the closest ressource I found to confirm that it was a Unity side bug : Link
Hope it will help some of you too !

I made it!

This is my first Solo LD Jam! There is so much more I wanted to add, but we probably all feel this way, right?

So, here's my game:

Game: Ludum Dare

Lemme Stash! :hamster:

(bonus points if you get the reference)

You play as a hamster, who needs to collect food for the upcoming winter. Since the days are short, the hamster only has a limited amount of time to collect as much food as possible (the hamster carries it in it's cheek pouch). Before going to bed, they empty it's cheek pouch into the stash in the burrow.

The hamster can spend food (nom nom) to gain energy and dig up a whole new chamber. When all the storage chambers are filled with food, you've made it!

Things I wanted to add, but didn't made it:

  • add deco to emphasize the amount of food inside a storage chamber
  • animations
  • music
  • make cheek pouches bigger as the hamster collects food
  • add challenges while collecting food (other animals?)
  • add items that can boost the hamster

I also sneaked our lovely (real!) hamster in the game :hamster:

Our characters are not onions!

For our game entry, Gold Finder, we made characters looking like a radish. But, someone tells us it was an onion by sending this picture  Well... I can't blame him...

Are you "Team Onion", "Team Radish" or "Team Turnip"? Play our game below

Come play Witchlist as the beloved witch in a cozy forest!

You play as a witch in a cozy forest. Animals here live in loving harmony. With your magical cauldron, you wield great creative powers and bring spark to these woods. Collect common things found in the forest and combine them into something completely new.

Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.02.08 PM.png

Animals here give you many thanks for fulfilling their wishes. Without you, they would never have access to all these wonders outside of the peaceful woods. Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.13.02 PM.png

You always complete your day after granting everyone their wishes. That sense of completion carries you into your sweet dreams, and on and on to the next days. Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.16.26 PM.png

From time to time, you might feel a bit off from someone's desire. But you find it hard to say no. Even when you try to postpone a request, you circle back to the same asking. You have the powers anyways, so you go on with your daily routine and grant everyone their wishes. Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.29.58 PM.png

Things happen quickly. Changes are abrupt. The animals did not suddenly become evil. They too, are in great fear. Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.35.27 PM.png

You go on with your daily routines, wielding your creative powers... Screenshot 2025-10-07 at 6.41.46 PM.png

First experience with pixels

Hello, everyone! We decided to participate in this event. This was my first experience with pixel art locations, and I would appreciate any feedback on this. What to improve and what to add.

(Example from game)

We would also welcome ideas about future bosses and mechanics. We like how it's turning out and want to make a full-fledged game.

Our first game jam experience!

This was our very first time creating a game and participating in a game jam — and it was such a nice and fun experience! We made a small cozy platformer called “Violet’s Home”, inspired by a Sylvanian village. 🐰🌸 We had a great time learning, creating, and bringing this little world to life!

So, for this Ludum Dare, I wanted to explore the possibility of creating something like an atmospheric walking simulator. Man did I underestimate the amount of effort needed for atmosphere. I spent far too long on setting the mood, which means there is very little in terms of game play. But what is there, turned out to be pretty good.

It was also my first project after switching to Godot, which meant I had to relearn a whole bunch of new ways of doing things. So come take a walk in the park with me while you're having your morning coffee or afternoon tea. And don't forget to post a link to your game in the comments! :)

We've created a surreal text-based adventure game

The residents of a small town have been influenced by alien radio waves. They've lost their human forms and begun speaking nonsense. Your mission is to collect their absurd dialogues before they completely transform into aliens, purify the town, and ultimately uncover the truth behind the incident.

Welcome to try it out and rate it! (recommend playing via the itch.io webpage for faster loading.) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/gibberwave 26fabaeaa4df756a2ad5fbc40b7b79ce.png

Introducing ball effect - AI claw

Grab the ball! It has a random effect that lasts for a limited time and may appear as an AI claw https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/claw-collect 2025-10-0714-45-07-ezgif.com-optimize.gif

Strange solutions

During the jam, we often resort to creative shortcuts to write code faster and cut down development time — which sometimes leads to some very strange solutions of problems

Do you have any things that you would never do in production or pet project? :D
