Bug ? Can't see rating buttons after opening a game

I don't seem to be able to see the rating buttons after I open a game. I need to log out and log in for the ratings buttons to appear, and I have to do it for every game.

Edit: Weird, now that I wrote this post, all the rating buttons start appearing :/

Last day

The game has basically taken shape, currently doing the level design, I hope everything comes in time, carton buggy start! QQ图片20221003145417.gif

In the end

Hi jamming folks, I decided to stop it here. I'm really happy with the result, it was one of my best jam and I hope for you too.

Sadly, I don't know how to do music and sfx so I couldn't get into compo, maybe next time !

Here is my game : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/z-o-m-b-i-e-s

It's a typing game inspired by the Textorcist, but you get weapons and kill zombies.

Hope you'll have a good time and tell me how much you score, I went past 600 !

I'm happy I had time to update the game and do some more work, you now have a sniper that deals damages in a line and some better balancing :).

Belated Day 2 Progress Report

We added several more minigames and started working on some of the final art. It's finally coming together. Day 3 will be a lot of art, music and polish.

Unlucky Town

I am going to share a little bit about the development journey of my compo entry. As usual I didn't have much time during the weekend so I went with the Lua framework I build on top of my C engine as it would give me all the speed I need to come up with something 2D without having to fight with other engines.

It took me a long time to finally come up with an idea, though. I had tens of different ideas but none of them really felt like it would embrace the theme and make it a meaningful mechanic. So, after hours of brainstorming, I decided to give it a try at something I never did before: a card/city builder mix.

I started big and scaled down the design in such a way to have to manage a minimal amount of variables and interactions between the different gameplay elements.

The result is that you get 4 cards per turn. Each turn lasts exactly 10 seconds. You have some energy that you spend to play the cards. Playing cards let you build different kind fo buildings. At the end of the turn, your town is hit by a disaster that you cannot avoid. But your energy replenishes and you get some new cards. Rinse and repeat and try to make your town survive as long as possible.

I also narrowed down the amount of buildings you can have to just 8 to make it a little bit harder.

I would have wanted to let you place the buildings on a map, have some people move around, have animations and nice looking graphics but I didn't have the time for it. I managed to squeeze in some basic graphics, some music and sound effects and then had to call it finished, even if it needed a lot of polish, still.

I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless. Here is the link to the game:

About I ticked the casual mode

I didn't realized that I ticked that, as many people play my game, and write review on it, I was so glad and feeling so great. But when I found there is no rate on my game, I confused, and then, I found I ticked the casual mode(Opt-out of ratings)

Glad suddenly turns into sadness.

Well... that was stressful!

I'm DONE... finally.

There is a lot of reflection I need to do about this whole jam experience. It was a real struggle! Moreso than usual. But I got there in the end (even if it runs badly on the web).

For now... I'm going to literally sleep for 12 hours.

Good luck to everyone who is still working hard to hit that deadline. YOU CAN DO IT!
