No game yet but we have a name and logo. CULLBOT 56!

when ur logic is fine but the engine says nooooooo im gonna change the scale of your player to an obscure number if you set that variable to true before awaiting an animation to finish uwu there's nothing you can do about it either uwu

Aaaaand here it is. Finally.
Took way longer than expected. And there's stuff that I definitely want to change once the rating period has ended.
I wanted to add some ending illustrations, and I wanted the choices made in this game to affect how many critters are blocking the next choices. Since I have to place everything by hand and can't just save the critter animations simply as animations (nooo, I have to save and place every single frame D:), this would have taken me way longer than it already has.
Also, I need to rework one or two illustrations (I'm looking at you, wonky room).
What else is there to say?
I'm exhausted. And happy. Definitely happy. Especially since I have barely any experience using Ren'Py. (Who thought learning how to use a new engine just shortly before the beginning of a game jam would be a good idea??? lol)
I spent the entire first day trying to get the movement of these lil ants smooth and finally figured out that it wasn't working properly because of multi-threading.

Then once I tried actually implementing gameplay, I sorta got hit hard with demotivation, so imma sit this one out :) I wish everyone competeing good luck on their last day!
Don't crunch too hard :3
After a hectic sprint to wrap up our game (as usual), I managed to give it my all, and I'm really proud of the result. Can't wait for everyone to experience it!

I finally finished the prototype. Spent most of the time on the random system and the hero AI. And there's still a couple hours to do some simple graphics.

We got 3/4 voice actors lined up, need a VA for the green gal in this gif. Hit me up @squuuidly on Discord if you're interested in getting some VA credits going

This is the first time I've forfeit the jam to work on a game I think could be a lot more fun than the cut-down version the jam would get. I wanna make something really fun and cute to show off all I learned over the years! I'll try to get it done for Ludum Dare Extra in order not to waste your time too x3
Basically I'm making a fully animated + voice-acted + scored point-and-click adventure game with tons of tiny creatures to discover. If that sounds interesting to you, give me a follow so you know when it comes out!! I'd love for you to see it. <3

Hi everyone, we only managed to start almost a day later and because of that we are now realizing our original scope might just be a bit too much for us. But we are working like crazy so let's see what happens and if we are able to finish it or not. We are very hopeful and almost all base mechanics are now implemented. Rat Dead Redemption (working title) or whatever its name will eventually be is coming along nicely despite the lack of time :))
We're on the final polishing stage of a racing game, where you take control over four tiny cars, configure them, setup driver tactics and lead your team to the victory 🏆

I spent last night modeling and animating these creatures
The base mechanics and graphical + audio stuff are ready but I don't know if I can crunch a proper prototype in eight hours but we will see! I'll try my best :3
Best of luck to all of you for the last hours of LD 56 <3
Like last time, I wrote my game in ANSI C with the SDL and OpenGL, and provided a Linux build.
I just finished a web port of my game Antwars (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/antwars).
Play it on itch.io: https://mibi88.itch.io/antwars

I have the critters, the environments, and.... almost all of the mechanics. Can I put in the final bits in the last 8 hours?

try this on line : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/tiny-villages
I can't believe you have spent so much time on this game. The resources you've gathered have already reached the current design limits of the game. Thank you so much for your love and support! If needed, I will update the game with more interesting content after the competition ends

Ive been struggling with game breaking bugs since yesterday And due to personal plans i'll have to throw in the towel for ludum dare 56 It wasnt meant to be.
I'll try again in ludum dare 57.
It's sad, but I haven't been able to finish the proyect in time. I couldn't fix certain errors, and I was busy all weekend. Congrats to everyone that was able to make their games, and thanks for everything, maybe next time
