Back to work.
The final day is upon us. It's time to make, because we love the Boys!

This dump really is a mess... 🦝
Hey ! Please when you make you game cover put this on it if your game is playable on web, thank you.

I had no time until now but I want to keep my LD streak since LD44 alive.
Wish me luck!
If you use Godot and have this error don't forget to read the embedding guide
(or upload to itch.io)

Whether the game works or not, there will be corn

Final push before sweeeeet sleep.

I know some of you are compo people, come hang https://twitch.tv/alexrosegames
As fun as it was having hundreds of critters milling about on screen, probably better now that we have them spawning from little pools of slime in an orderly and pseudo-random fashion...
And we can squash them, too!

I didn't think I would get to participate in this LD but I managed to find a few hours this afternoon and made this little game.
It's super simple but a little challenging and kind of charming (in my opinion).

Good luck to everyone who's still working away! Have fun!
Seems I still haven't learned to build a minimal prototype.
I could have tested my concept on paper or with a simple no / low-fidelity GUI prototype. Instead - with me coming back to Godot after eight years - I spent way too much time on physics and input handling. I had a navigation system in mind that would feel just right. After 48 hours with two of my main mechanics coming together I realized: My idea doesn't work. Or at least, that I my idea depends on additional mechanics, with not enough time left to add them.
This is the first learning: Do a quick prototype. To be honest, this is not the first time I'm learning this lesson, but every Ludum Dare I get the feeling that there is not enough time for prototyping.
So I decided to end this Ludum Dare early and not submit anything. A part of me wants to see how much can be done until the deadline, but I know I wouldn't be content with the result. I will try to make better use of my time and do something, that makes me happy.
I had a lot of fun brainstorming and coming back to game development, I learned some things and refreshed my memory on others. So I end this on good terms. I'll try to come back next time, and maybe even join a team!
Best of luck to the remaining participants!
We hope your games are coming along great—compo entries are looking awesome 💛! Here's a peek at the atmosphere we're creating

Someday our teacher's gonna kill us for referencing him.

Hello, here is a little preview of where I am on my proto of a beginning of clone of Joust with a small AI for the enemies but I am far from having a game and it remains too little time I think that I could not finish in time.
I'm going to try to make as much progress as I can - who knows?

Our narrative gamedesigner is a genius

By the nines I'm buggin.
Try being an ant with our game
Still have to figure out why my avoidance agents aren't working, add game over screens and an enemy state machine... I am likely not going to make it, but I'll try to add as much as I can.
