Ludum Dare 49 October 1–4, 2021

6 first hours, the 3D artist is working non-stop

We're progressing at a somewhat constant pace!

Here is the first look at our level structure, a fun little track. (I don't know what it is, I just make the sounds, help)

Can you guess what kind of unstable it is ? IMGem20211002/em173102.jpg

Day One Update

I have a vague idea on what to make and already have the most basic gameplay done!Screenshot (1865).png

First Time LDJammer, Day 1 working prototype

Jam started at 8am Sydney time, I slept in to midday. After a 10 minute conversation with my wife I had an idea for a game.

Spent 3 hours working out how to stream with OBS, setting up a template for OBS and then a grocery shop... then dinner, then watched the end of Wonder Woman 1984, then finally started coding at 8pm!

It's almost 2am now (daylight savings is about to start, so I'm about to lose an hour), but my prototype is working! It doesn't look like much, but the basic game play is there!

Tomorrow will be cleaning up and refining the gameplay, and graphics!

Our team's working!

What's it gonna be what's it gonna be

Just a piece of music sample for now but it's not the point

Day one

Been working on the main gameplay loop today. Suprisingly fun to mess around with.

Pogostickwip1.gif

You play a Pogostick user in an unstable environment. Its pretty bare bones right now, but hopefully by the end of the jam it will look amazing with all the graphics and models it rightfully deserves

Stuff

I thought the day when I made bloody teddy bear stuffing wouldn't come but here I am ruining childhood

Something is taking shapes

GIF4mb.gif This took me way too long but I think it has a lot of potential. No art yet

Late but started

I was thinking to create a narration driven game. I got my protagonist at least: noir1 (1).gif

Transporting unstable colour balls

Not sure about a title yet but finally, after 8 or so gamejams, hit my target of having the core game mechanic and game loop (incl win/lose scenario) done on the first day! Always wanted to get there so I can polish on the second day, so this time I picked something very simple. Woohoo!

Welcome to Un's charming table!

Hi there. Meet Un. He is an orc. Don't think he is a barbarian or something like this, no, he is some sort of enchanter. And his goods are really good! (May be a little bit unstable...)

So i'm started making a game, and can't decide about visual style of the game. Which one is better? Без-имени-1.png

Something is up at this party...

I don't really know what I'm doing. I had no good ideas, so now I'm just making stuff.

I think there's gonna be a sniper trying to take you out (aim is unstable) and you have to not get shot.

Or you could play as the sniper.. dunno..

Our progress

We made a prototype and finished with some artsaIwr9VbgXAw.jpg ezgif-6-a8d13b907fa6.gif

This theme is very hard for me

demo00.gif

for hours I poked at ideas and now I am trying to make that a game.

I actually would retry to make another entry I never finished, but with every minute its harder to switch tracks :S

Some good progress for day one!

I think this is the first time I've got all the key mechanics working on the first day...
