New engine, new teammate, new game

Start with a slight delay, but still took place! We are making an arena-like game on Pico8. Not perfect theme for me, I hope we will get finish in time.

Also My teammate.

Progress pic (First time making a 3D game)

After a long time developing 2D games, this is my first time trying my hand at 3D. I'd appreciate any feedback and any help on getting a good looking background / skybox in godot.

oh boy oh jeez scoob we're playin the feud we're makin the jam

Woke up, nervous as hell, gonna write down my lil jam to-do list to help me think straight and get stuffs done:

  1. Convert my thumbnail sketch into a proper mock screenshot
    • Use mock screenshot to find canvas size and resolution for my game
    • Dissect the elements of the mock screenshot to use as placeholder art
  2. Use placeholder art to code the game
    • Create additional placeholder art as necessary
    • LOOK UP: Rotating things in Godot
  3. Create sound effects
  4. First draft music
  5. Refine art assets
    • Maybe add opening "cutscene" comic
  6. Refine music
  7. Refine game feel :tm:

Playing with different art styles

We are currently playing with different art styles, including a neon effect. Obviously the colors aren't all correct right know and we don't have any real textures yet, but I like the color palette.

I have a wall!

This is definitely the most uncertain I've ever felt towards an LD project. Since my game is about exploring someone else's unfinished game dev projects, this has kind of come in handy. xd I just let my insecurities loose and now I have an idea sorta of the game's story.

Using a mobile game as a game engine

Yep, you heard the title, i'm gonna make my game with Martin Magni's Fancade (https://fancade.com/). The good thing out of this is that it has a browser version, so if i manage to finish the game you'll be able to play it without installing the app! I'm using this game since i wanna see if i can make Fancade a "real game engine", since it's pretty cool, all the games on it have a voxel art style, which makes lots of blocks you make look good! It also has a cool visual scripting language called Fanscript, you should check the game out (unless you don't like visual scripting, in that case, you can play games from other people)

Day 1

There is still a lot of work to do, but at least I have this cool pic.
