Ludum Dare 49 October 1–4, 2021

Day 2 - A whole lot of nothing

After a day of kid's parties, swimming and playing my little ponies with my daughter I finally tucked her into bed and sat down to work on the game... then realised how much I have left to do.

You know what? It can wait till tomorrow. I need sleep more. (image is not related to my game)

half-jam progress

We thought of unstable as in "unstable reaction".
We had this idea of particles that are moving around, colliding into each other and causing chaos.
Our first day and a half we finished making the basic game mechanics. Next up is creating special behavior that add some chaos and hopefully will make a mess.
This is our first jam, so we are hoping that all will go smoothly  giphy.gif

We finished sketching jam03.jfif

A little break won't be bad))

Taking another direction

Kinda wasted some of my time working towards a stealth game and its AI logic that goes beyond what I can do in the given timeframe of the compo. I'm just gonna stash this for later progress. Here is just one screenshot of it for the record. I have another, more fleshed out and focused idea that may just make it in term of scope... I hope :) Still the same isometric view and style but different characters and actions. See you at the end of the day ! Good luck to all participants

OGK Games

I came out of the subway and came across a good texture. стена.jpg

I can't make a game

I am using again construct 3 because I had some problems with Game Maker Studio 2 But the code that needs to work to make the put the theme in the game is always broken It's correct, and I even watched tutorials and I am doing the correct way, I am getting super desmotivated

Unstable Tables : DevLog #2

Considering that I had only few hours so far for work, it goes rather well.. Just need to add few things and record voiceovers....

Half Done

Game_Main.jpg

Halfway done!

Okay, halfway done with the game (5/10 levels).

This is the farthest I've ever gotten on a project, I usualy can't even finish a simple designed level before losing interest.

Even if I don't finish it on time, it'll still be a proud moment for me that I got this far into a project for the first time.

I did it again...

So I've made something, but it's not a game yet. I seem to always focus on one feature and fail to make any sort of playable experience with an actual game loop.

What I have made: - Random dungeon generator - Skinned and animated model (first time successfully implementing from scratch, so many matrices) - Basic gamepad controls - Pounding noise that shakes the camera - When pounding reaches crescendo, dungeon reorganizes existing rooms (and objects persist in their respective rooms) - Little mushrooms :mushroom:

What I haven't added: - Gameplay of any sort (no enemies, weapons, story, goal etc)

I like the idea and have a basic story-line in mind. If I'm able to fit it around work then maybe I'll swap to a jam submission, but maybe this will just be something I work on every now and then.

Back To Development!

Time to return to the struggle to finish a game in nine hours! (Actually less taking into account things such as eating and other things I have to take care of today.) My laptop was even nice enough to update overnight so I don't have to waste Ludum Dare time updating it.

Anyone else really concerned about finishing in time? I had planned to wake up at 5:00 in the morning to give myself 12 hours to finish up, but I overslept past my alarm and I dreamt that the Compo and Jam deadlines had been moved 12 hours earlier (early morning here) and somehow I had missed both deadlines, despite the Jam ending a day from now.

I need feedback for Among the Monolyths my first finished game.

Like many others amateur gamedev I have the tendency to never finish my games.

But when I decided to work on a game for my girlfriend's birthday I think the deadline game me extra motivation to wrap it up and have something in time.

For Ludum Dare 49 Jam I decided to take the game back and completely change the story. I improved the graphics, added gameplay elements, dialogs and publish it as a game others could play.

All the graphics, dev, sound design and game design are from me. The music is from MrGrob, a friend that was cool enough to make a music for the game (Who end up being the best part of this creation I think)

That's my first published game after many unfinished ones so every feedback is welcome 😃

Here are few screenshots of the game.
