Ludum Dare 55 April 13–16, 2024

A room! With things in it!

Still no gameplay, but hey! Maybe I'll make some of these items do something lol Screenshot 2024-04-14 152143.png

He's surprisingly charismatic

Made a quick mesh to test the player before doing any asset, but this little guy is growing on me. I'm considering just modeling a wizard hat for him and using this as the visual style of the game.

We are doomed

Our creation is cursed and I regret drawing for it. May God forgive us

I procrastinated by playing the game for way too long

I spent a lot of time (5 hours+) on game design, and playing the game over and over again, balancing all the cards. But I think I have something fun and challenging on hand.

There are a lot of rules and mechanics, and there's no way I am making a quality tutorial in time.

Having software development as your main job really takes a bit out of the motivation for me. I just want to take it easy and not stress about details.

Creativity is a strange thing

Why is it that when the jam starts everything goes so slow and you're barely having creative ideas and when the end of the competition is nearing you start having all these ideas and kinda don't want to stop?!

I Wish to summon more time and sleep

Typical LD April jams are the best, got the idea got no time and enjoying the runaway train of creative crazy, good luck to all.

Some concept silhouettes

Having fun combining several scary-cute things together to create our summonned familiar !

Almost done

Almost 9 hours to go. All the game mechanics are done, almost all the arts to. This time i really outdone myself with the project. Musics, sounds , game menu and tweaks are left to do.

Will post screenshots later when the art are done

It's done!

NOT PICTURED HERE: the giant ant, crux of the game, which could trigger arachnophobia maybe?

I must say, this was a weekend full of interesting decisions.
