Making Progress…

With about 10hrs to go, I now have something playable, at least…

Overthrow – Day Two

Today didn’t quite go as well as planned. My fiance hit a bad pot hole in the road and flattened both her tires going into work, so I had to go pick her up and take her around . Lost a few hours there. Also ended up struggling getting some code working, but I did end up getting the mechanics of the game in place. It’s actually playable! Unfortunately it looks like crap; my art abilities are lacking and I chose too small a tile size to allow larger puzzles. Probably would have been better off having larger tiles and less space to build (or better yet larger tiles and a camera that resizes appropriately). Oh well.

It’s actually Sunday morning and I have to go into work. Probably won’t be able to work on the game until around 7pm. Plan on having a late night getting it finished and presentable! Will post a #screenshotsaturday (even though it’s Sunday) once I get back from work.

SUNDAY GOALS:

  • Finish UI
  • Get title/splash screen made
  • Get level select Made
  • Improve the particles for dying units (looks like a red firework right now)
  • If there’s time improve the camera and have it zoom to the closest in point where all units are on screen.

Building the house

Building the house is going great.

Unity standart builder is looking on foundation =)

Let’s grow few floors and decorate!

Close to finished!

Oh dude it’s a title screen!

I’m so close to done. Just two more of these levels to complete and I’m there! Levels are tiny, but I only wanted to make a small game for this MiniLD.

Last Word: Finished

Hurray! I finished Last Word

LastWord_Slim

In addition to the standard platforming mechanics you can use the number keys to speak and this is your main way of interacting with the world. I’ve sent it around to a few people already and it seems a lot more polarising than my other gamejam stuffs. I don’t mind that, though.

[MiniLD #48] The End.

And so, it ended…

I couldn’t complete the game in time, and I lost motivation due to not really knowing what theme I was following anymore. It’s a darn sham too since I was enjoying the challenge so far…

Ah well, until the next!

Nearly done

I added some more levels (Total of 15, I think that’s all there’s gonna be.), added a theme tie in (Sort of). Now all I got to do is do a quick main menu, think of a name, ???, and profit!

SO DONE

I’m pretty happy with the way PASTEL turned out. Check it out here! Time to sleeeeeep.

getting close to end

after struggling for hours i’m almost done with the game mechanics. i’ll only need to add a few playable levels and then, it should do the trick.

and yay, i have a simple title screen now. :)

Balancing is hard…

But I think the game is much more playable now (link) that it was when I originally posted it.
Beta tests of the 3 levels available gave rather balanced rates of victory.

Instead of producing many levels, I’ll spend the rest of my time tuning the 3 that I’ve designed.

Cheers,

Steve

miniLD#48 Bad Bricks is submitted.

Try curing the facade from the usurping rogue bricks or just have fun listening in to their rebellious whispers and smashing bricks for effects.
Some sort of “the good and the bad will” have to come later. Now it is time for some well needed sleep, for me. You should play my game:

MiniLD #48 – Fawkes Conspiracy “complete”

So its coming to the end of Sunday and I’ve “completed” my entry for mini #48 Fawkes Conspiracy.

progress-4

Well, not sure how I feel.  Coming in to this I knew I wouldn’t get much time, and I probably only got about 10 to 15 hours of total work when I started a little earlier on Friday afternoon.  I feel like I’ve cobbled together something mildly fun for a minute or two, but felt like I could have done a lot better.

Anyway, we’ll see what people’s comments are over the next few hours and days!

Cups and Ball finished, MiniLD48 Entry

I have finally completed my game for the Mini LD 48.
This was very exiting and challenging at the same time.

The game is a version of the age old table trick street game, Cups and Ball. In this game the player must follow the ball hidden under one of 3 cups. After a few shuffles the player must pick which cup contains the ball.

Don’t let your eyes deceit you under the facade of cups.

Please download here.

NB: This is a Java game so please make sure you have a JRE installed.
Enjoy!

Lucky Lighter – Home Stretch

Finishing up some dialogue then revising some graphics and hopefully adding a few new scenes if there’s time. About five hours left, think this is gonna be a close one.

Yeah, I’m not going to make it.

Well, it looks like I probably won’t finish this in time. That’s not to say I won’t still work on it, I’ve gotten too far to go back now. I barely have all the mechanics implemented and even when I do I still need to design all the levels. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I’m new to MiniB3d or I’m just procrastinating too much (probably the latter), but I think I’ll make this a direct sequel to my 7DFPS game (http://gamejolt.com/games/adventure/the-invasion/16774/).

Anyways, the things I implemented since the last post:

-Guns and the shooting of them

-Doors

-Lamps

-Small tweaks and fixes

-Keys (That don’t do anything yet)

So I guess I’ll just work on it this week.

Here’s the final screeny :
