LD29 April 25–28, 2014

I’m in!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done LD! Figured I should try again. Will probably use either Construct 2 or Unity, depending on what kinda game I end up doing.

I am/am not in?

This will hopefully be me 6th time participating in the Ludum Dare, though I’m still not 100% sure I’m in.  I have a family member in for surgery as we speak, though it’s a routine outpatient procedure.  If all goes well, I’m in; if not, then well… we’ll see what happens.

In any case, provided I can compete, here are my tools:

Programming: Visual Studio, C# using XNA 4.0.  I should be able to port it over to Monogame without an issue, but I’ll stick to what I know for the actual competition.

Graphics: Paint.NET, Corel Photopaint, Sketchbook Pro, and maybe Spine for animation if I don’t decide to do NES stile pixel art.

Sound: SFXR, FamiTracker, Audacity, Baritone Ukulele (YOu’ll probably not hear the uke in the game, but I compose on it as best I can).

Base Code: My custom engine. It’s a good collection of code for rendering animations, handling camera, transforms, audio, input, collision, and a bunch of other useful stuff. Take a look and take whatever you can use.

Font: For any text display, I have been using a free font  from http://www.proggyfonts.com/, specifically Proggy Square.  I have converted it to a spritefont (PNG) for use in XNA (both full size, and something that fits in 8×8 for NES style graphics).  The original font and converted formats can be downloaded Here.

Im in… 2nd time…

For the 2nd time im in for Ludm Dare..
Im not totally sure what i will be using this time but the options are:

  • HTML5/JS/Canvas game  using Notepad++
  • AGK mobile game (im not too sure about this, it  looks nice but im not too confident using it)
  •  Atanua is interesting but it might be really hard to do something interesting using it.

…so..have a nice LD and good luck everyone!

I’m in!

I am going to participate in Ludum Dare once again.

I’m going to be using Construct2 on a Windows laptop.

Wish me luck! Theme seems great!

Hello all!

Taking part again as per usual, hoping I’ll like the theme this time round!

Engine/Editor: Game Maker: Studio with GML and a little D&D

Art: Old copy of CS2 and my lovely Wacom that isn’t dead yet….

Music & Sound: bfxr, myself and anything around the house that is useful!

The food creating is starting now:

chilli

And then I just want to tidy my desk a little before the big sleep.

I’ll be posting on the blog again as usual along with on my Twitter

Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates!

I have maybe half a day to make a game, let’s do this!!

I have a track meet at 8am tomorrow and prom after that, then I might be doing something with the group I’m going to prom with that night. So I will have like, 8pm – maybe 1am tonight and most of the day Sunday. I don’t think I’m going to make top 30% this time.

First LD

I’m in for my first LD.

I’m going to use Lua with LÖVE and Gimp.

Hope I’ll manage to do something !

I believe in you Ao! 😀

I’m in! Such excite!

This will be my 6th Ludum Dare and I am very in. I will be using:

  • Webgl via Dart
  • Paint.net
  • SFXR

I have also made a little webgl library that I will be using, you can see it here. And I also made a little breakout game to test my stuff, you can play it here.

Can’t wait to start, good luck everyone!

I am in for Ludum Dare 29.

This is my first time participating in Ludum Dare 29, so I am obviously excited. I will be using PuzzleScript to produce the game itself, the Game Maker sprite editor to create the graphics (I don’t know why, but I prefer using that over other image editors) and Famitracker to make the music (yes, I produce eight-bit music.) I wish everybody the best of luck.

First time participant

Looking forward to my first attempt at Ludum Dare.

  • Language: Python
  • Framework: PyGame
  • Art: Gimp
  • Audio: Audacity, some kind of composer/producer

Never tried anything like this, normally I’m slow and careful, time to throw caution to the wind!  I’ll be giving regularly progress updates on twitter.

In, I’m

Oh no it’s all going wrong already.

Going to bed now! See you tomorrow!

Getting Ready

This will be my seccond ludum dare. Last time I made a game in unity but due to a lack of graphics and coding knowledge I decided not to put my game in. This time I am doing a 2d game in unity and I have some better software for making sprites. Ill see you all tomorrow!

Obligatory “IN” post

New account for reasons, but this will be my fifth attempt at Ludum Dare.  Failed two times due to programming being hard(lol), and twice due to work.  I have high hopes this time will go much better.

Unity3D

Gimp/Paint.net

Blender

cgMusic

bfxr

Might do a time lapse of the weekend, haven’t decided yet.

Declaration of Intent to Participate

I hereby declare that I will be using the following tools, libraries, and services for Ludum Dare 29:

  • LÖVE (Lua)
  • bfxr
  • Inkscape
  • Notepad++
  • github

Good luck and may fortune favor the foolish.

I’m in…

Once again, I’m in. Going to use unity3d (99% probability, but I might use something else if I’ll have some interesting idea based on the theme…)
