LD30 August 22–25, 2014

In again (probably)

Hi all,

Though I missed LD29 i had an absolute blast in LD28 and will probably participating in LD30 as well :)

My tools are the usual suspects:

– Unity3d
– VisualStudio
– Blender
– GIMP
– Audacity

Good luck to all!

LD30 Startup scripts.

Hi all, :)

As the rules states “Base code and personal code libraries are allowed, but should be declared and shared with the community prior to beginning your entry. To do this, make a blog post.”

So I’ll share the two small scripts that I use in almost project I make in Unity.

  • AudioController.cs for playing sfx’s. I normally use this when I destroy an object that should play a death sfx. I can just play a sound an destroy the object instead of having to keep it in limbo just to play a sound.
  • CameraScript.cs for following player or any other object with damping.

Download Startup scripts

That was it.. Rules obeyed :)

Good luck all. =D

Did I mention I’m in?

Cuz I am you know.

YEP! Requested the weekend off from work, stocked up on goldfish. Tomorrow I plan to grab some 2liters of Diet Pepsi.

Dis gun b guuuuuud.

Programming: Game Maker: Studio

Art: Paint.NET, GM:S Image Editor

Music: Unknown, perhaps I’ll use iNudge again?

Sound Effects: SFXR (Oh come on, how could I use anything else?)

I’ll also be livestreaming everything on twitch.tv/ClockBotGames (or ClockBotGames.com/live) and posting a timelapse after the event on youtube.com/user/ClockBotGames

I AM EXCITED

😀

Resources update

I’m still warming up for tomorrow. I’ve been reading all the posts in this blog and i’ll change some resources. On this post, Knowledge lists a interesting resource, the Fake Music Generator. I think i’ll try to do my best with some random generated track and Audiacity. It’s my best alternative now.

For the rest of the day i’ll practice a little more with Game Maker Studio.

Good luck everybody!

I’m in!

Hi all,

busy weekend be damned! I’m in.

Programming/Engine: Unity (C#, JS/Unityscript)

3D Graphics: 3DS Max and maybe some Sculptris

2D Graphics: Photoshop CS5.5

Music: Synthfont, maybe cgMusic

Sound Effects: Could it be anything but SFXR?

Fuel: Off brand cola. A lot of off brand cola.

Let’s do this!

Annoying Start Time

Ludum Dare starts at 2AM on the 23rd here in UK, so I’m going to have a bit of a late start… either that or get up a two in the morning >YAWNS<

Anyone else got an awkward start time?

Same here, I guess we have ALL sunday to work on it… although having 2 “sleeping” breaks in the middle would probably help coming up with some nice ideas, right?

I’m in the UK too, I usually find out the theme and think of some ideas and write a little code then go to sleep at 4am. Then get up a bit late on saturday, probably not the best way but I’m too excited friday night to just go to sleep without starting a little.

Hello from Germany. We nearly the have same start time. But in summary we will have the same conditions. In Europe, we will start later but for example in the states, it starts and ends in the morning. They can start at the beginning but cannot work until the 48 hours are over (assumed somebody doesn’t work the whole night).

Testrun completed

I made a short testrun and I think I’m ready.

A javascript version is available at my dropbox account. But it’s nothing special, you can just jump and run and the Box2D debug renderer is still enabled :).

The code, which is undocumented because I was in a hurry, is available at github project which I made for it.

Have a nice weekend everyone, lots of while programming and maybe while watching Capaldi :)

Cheers,
Simon.

Timelapse made with TechnoLapse made by technocf. Thanks!

We are in :)

Going to try about the jam this time with a friend. Strength in numbers 😛

We will be using Unity3D

Good luck to everyone may your coffee cups stay full and your eyes stay open!

I’m in

In the past, I rarely found the time to spend a whole uninterrupted weekend on ludum dare, but this weekend looks clear so far. Yay!

Code: I’m going for a HTML/WebGL game, re-using some code from my warm-up game Hover Rally (code at https://github.com/exoticorn/hover-rally). Ex. a shader class, some simple text printing code, etc…

Gfx: Either generated in Code or Piskel

Music: Whatever sounds I can make with my mouth

Let’s have some fun!

I’m *hopefully* in

This will be my first ludum dare, and I hope I will be able to make something playable!

  • Language, framework: C#, XNA
  • Graphics: Paint (it will be good to get something better than colored squares)
  • Audio: sfxr, bfxr
  • Music: found this awesome thing, might be using it to generate music (I really suck at creating music). Also I made simpler version in C# (requires XNA), so I can generate and play music in runtime. You can find code here.

I am in

This is my first time participating in full-scale LD compo.

I will be using:

  • C (maybe some C++)
  • Possibly a ton of GLSL
  • GLFW for OpenGL init
  • My tiny OpenGL wrapper with a bit of math: https://github.com/w23/kapusha (this can draw colored cubes!! can be considered a handicap, actually)
  • Procedural generation for everything

*~* STREAM!!!

I’ll Stream the hole time I programm, so if you are bored or just wanna have some fun, visit my

link:

Stream

Hope to see u!

There is work to be done!

So, this time it’s the 48 hour compo again for me.

And I will probably use the 2D tools in Unity. Coding in Visual Studio, Photoshop for Artwork, Reaper for Music and Audition for manipulating sounds recorded by microphone which always sound horrible but get the job done.

As always, will try to focus on my own project, not getting sidetracked. Doing the occasional break and going outside.

Wish all of you a productive weekend with lots of fun and excitement.

I’m in!

Hello all

Didn’t finish last time(didn’t even get past initial concept) but I will finish something this time around. If I miss the 48 hours I will finish with the remaining game jam time.

– Unreal Engine 4(BLUEPRINT based code)
– Blender & Sculptris
– GIMP & ORMR
– Audacity

Good Luck Everyone!!!!

I’m in (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)

Hi everyone, it’s my first Ludum Dare, so i’m both excited and stressed. I’ve already took part in many game jams, but as a developer, it’s going to be the first time that I’ve got to make all my graphics and sounds by myself, so this is going to be a cool experience.

What I’m going to use :

- Engine : Probably going to use Unity and code in C#

- Graphics : Photoshop and Piskel
- Sounds (if I’ve got time) : sfxr & Fruity Loops
Happy Game Jam.

C-Average Studios is in for the jam.

My team and I, C-Average Studios will be participating in the game jam this time around. Here’s what well be using:

Java with the LibGDX engine.

Blender for rigging and animating our art

Combination of GIMP and Paint.NET to create art.

Haven’t decided on music resources quite yet.

Whatever we make, it will be 2D. We’re experimenting with Blender as a tool for 2D rigging and animation in order to make for better performance than standard SpriteSheets.

I’m in

Hey guys ,gals and anything inbetween it’s ludum again!

With a bank holiday coming up this is the perfect time to jam.

So to make sure I can get a game done over the weekend im going to be using my usual repertoir of tools instead of learning something new… (Tried that before… it went badly.)

Engine: Construct 2 (Fantastic little thing it is!)

2D Graphics: Oh. Y’know anything that I can use to doodle with. MSpaint, GIMP2, Inkscape, Crayons, pens other stationary.

Music: FLstudio11 and a crazy combination of controllers from Guitar hero and rock band. and my twanger. (I can’t play the damn thing but lets make some noise)

Sound Effects: SFXR, and noises I can make from hitting things around the house I suppose.

Im probably going to go a bit mental with this one. Working on the same project for about 2 months is sending me a bit mad so im probably going to make something that will probably be a bit non-sensical.

Either way, Good luck to everyone participating and i should have abit more time to play everyones games by the end of the jam.

Have fun!

Joining in

So, we (team of 3) are joining in.

Here in Astana (Kazakhstan) LD will start tomorrow at 7AM, so tonight we’d better go to sleep early. And saying “we” i mean two developers and one 3D designer. We will be using Unity3D, and we hope to show some better results then before.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

This is my first time participating, and I’m going to be doing the 72-Hour Jam.

I’ll be using Java cause that’s the language I’m best at, designing sprites in Pixen, making music in MilkyTracker, and sound effects in sfxr.

I guess the best thing to do would be to keep it simple, while still interesting, and try not to overwhelm myself too much…

Good luck everyone!
