LD32 April 17–20, 2015

I’m in!

Hello community! It was pretty intense week, but I am going to participate this time again. This is my second Ludum Dare and I am really excited :) I will be using same tools again for this Ludum Dare.

Language and engine: Haxe and HaxeFlixel,

Gimp for graphics and

SFXR for all my sounds.

Good luck everybody, lets make some awesome games :)

Glitchy Pixel enters LD32. We are in!

Diana and Italo: Pixelated versions

We are ready for LDJAM!

Hello everyone!

We are Glitchy Pixel, a small development group. Our names are:

  • Diana Esperanza Pacheco: Artist and designer (@okuroy)
  • Italo F. Capasso: Programmer and sometimes designer (@glitchypixel)

We make games from time to time :D.
We found out awhile ago that jams are a good way to experiment with new ideas (^-^).

But it also allows us to refresh our minds for our current work by doing other stuff not related to our current projects.

We’ve decided to enter the LDJAM 32, and see what can we do here. We’ve voted on all the rounds! Lets see which theme ends up being the one.
Here are our tools:

  • Engine: Either Unity 5 or Gamemaker, still deciding which one.
  • Art: Photoshop CC
  • Audio: Not sure yet probably we will use bfxr and a nice audio tracker like Pxtone.
  • 3D?:If we happen to use 3D (not likely), we may use Wings3D

If you might be interested, I (Italo Capasso) will livestream our process from my desktop. You may find updates on our process on twitter as well.

Well, that is all for now, we are getting ready.

Good luck to everyone who is entering to the Compo or the Jam! \(^-^)/

We’re in for the Jam! 😀

I’m in!

Hello!

It’s my first LD and it’s should be cooler event in my “gamedev” story.

I’m Java coder, but I want create a game with next tools:

  1. Consulo IDE
  2. Unity 5

Trello dashboard and GitHub repo will be added later (after event will be started).

From Russia with love!

I’m in!

Hello, this will be my first jam, really excited!

Tools:

Engine: Unity 5

Art: Gimp  + Blender or just Unity primitives, not sure yet.

Audio: record some of my own sounds if i get far enough to worry about sound.

In!

Hey, folks! I’m in for what will be my fifth time participating in Ludum Dare. I’m glad to say that I’ve come a long way as a developer since my first entry. Now that I’m an adult and jaded on holidays, LD is my new Christmas that comes thrice a year! In between events I’ve been working on building a small YouTube channel, and due to fortunate timing, I’ve just started up an LP of an LD28 game: Titan Souls. Take a look and see what could be if you create something awesome this time around and stick with it, and congrats the Acid Nerve team for taking a great entry to the next level!

I want to know more about You ;)

Hi everyone,

Usually I create games based on my tastes or just my inspiration with the theme. But this time I would like to take a different direction and make a game to a certain audience / demographic, and I would challenge others to do the same 😉 I believe it’s a different way of thinking about game development, starting by thinking about your players and building with that knowledge upon the theme of the competition.

So, I would like to give everyone a sense to whom we are creating games to. And for that, I would like to ask you if you kindly could answer this small survey.

[ Survey ]

I’ll post the results at the start of the competition 😉 (or you can also take a peek before that here).

Best Regards,

Pedro Sá

I’m in, 3rd LD

This will be my 3rd Ludum Dare and like last time, I am going to enter the comp by myself.

Looking forward to it 😀 Good luck everyone!

Software I’ll be using:

Programming – Adobe Flash CC (AS3)

Visuals – Adobe Photoshop CC

Obligatory “I’m in” post

Well, it’s this time again. Time to declare.

Goals:
* A game that is easy to learn.
* A game that feels fair to play.
* A game that is hard to master.
* I will deliberately not focus on graphics and music/sound in order to maximize the above.

Tools:
* Unity3D, because I like it.
* My little library for observer-pattern code entry points in Unity https://github.com/zigszigsdk/Quigs
* Unitys Standard asset – most likely just a skybox, a few textures and character controller.
* Sound: BFXR
* Music: fakemusicgenerator.com => SynthFont with the file “SGM-V2.01.sf2” (google the file name)

Alright, with that out of the way, lets make some killer games!!

I’m in!

Hi,

I plan to enter the compo for the second time so let’s hope for the best :)

My plan is to make a ZX Spectrum or C64 game. Well, this is what I want but I’m not sure if it is feasible for LD because I haven’t mastered the toolchain yet. Unity is again my backup plan though.

Cheers from Prague and good luck with your games guys!

I’m in for my 1st

Time to try my hand at game development. This’ll be my first Ludum Dare and I couldn’t be more excited to try it out. A little nervous but I can’t wait to get started!

Engine: Gamemaker:Studio

Art: GIMP

Sound: SFXR/BFXR

I’m in!

Finally back at it!

I’ll be participating with HaXe, and using my own base-code I’ve been growing since a few days ago (https://github.com/svenzin/lde).

Can’t wait to discover the theme this time. Make it a good one guys!

In for the first time!

First one, and thoroughly looking forward to it!

Unity 5 / C#, Blender, Affinity Designer, and doubtless a veritable smorgasbord of other tools as the need arises.

Jamming with MasterOfNaN

Core java game engine (Repost)

The core game engine is a game engine made in java using LWJGL 2. I will be using it this ld, if you want to use it there is a video tutorial here and the binaries(& source) are here.

I’m in!

I’m in, for my first ever Ludum Dare 😀

I’ve been really tempted to participate in the past but I’ve always had something else on, and this time I have my whole weekend free to work on my game! I’m attempting the comp but if everything goes sideways I’ll switch to the jam.

I think I’m going to use Twine, but I’m not completely decided yet. Partly because I think it will make it more… achievable for me to submit for the comp, and also I’m a game design student and my dissertation proposal skirts near the topic of narrative in games and story games. So hopefully this will be an interesting experiment for me.

Anyway, good luck everyone participating this weekend, have fun!

I am in

So it will be my who knows which try :)
Few last times participated in teams(1 and 2).
This time go back to the roots and will try to do it solo :)

Won’t focus on graphics and audio much. Hope to do some turn based top down dungeon crawler if theme allows :) Played a lot of Pixel Dungeon recently on my way to work :)

Goals:

  • Make prototype of a game that will be fun to developer after Ludum Dare
  • Make it usable both PC and mobile phone

Tools:

  • Phaser.js + WebStorm
  • Paint.net for minimal editing
  • http://www.leshylabs.com/apps/sstool/ for sprite sheets
  • Phone camera + paper + pen ooor  I do have a whiteboard :)

We are compiling a list of #GameJamTips!

Leading up to #LDJAM this weekend, I have been asking indies from everywhere to tweet me with thier best #GameJamTips, I have over 40 entries at the moment, and created this page that displays them in random order on each refresh:

If you would like to help, tweet your best tips to @TwoScoopGames with the hashtag #GameJamTips!
