Filtering LD Games by platform e.g. show Web Only

I have some scripts for making mosaics from LD entry thumbnails, and I have some scripts for scraping the LD website that I made for my LD30 “connecting worlds” entry.

It seemed natural enough to combine them :)  So I whipped up a quick prototype this lunchtime:

I deliberately haven’t made it any easier to find your own entry etc, although … there is always your javascript console 😉

So when the competition is over, I’m just one short command line away from posting an LD33 mosaic with filtering :)

Here again + Kickstarter announcement

Hi

In for the 5th time (already!).

As usual I Will be using:
– Openfl (Haxe) and basically the same libraries that I used last time (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=24933). With some stuff taken from other haxe ludum dare projects (thank you deepnight mouhahaha).
– Photoshop
– Sfrx
– Bosca Ceoil if I have the time to add music

And on the related topic of indie game development : me and a friend decided to make a program allowing us to create quickly and cheaply a lot of simple animated units for our own projects. It works, but it is very basic. So we just launched a kickstarter about it in order to improve the ergonomy, add options and a lot of graphics, and make it available.
You can find the kickstarter page here.

And an already outdated but usable online alpha version here.

Good luck to everyone !

After much deliberation, I’m in!

I’ve been missing out on Ludum Dare (My last LD was 28)

Been meaning to participate in the last couple of LD Jams with my own library, but sadly that’s not the case, life caught on and well I don’t have my library ready (I have one prototyped, just the basics is out, I wonder if this’ll work out)

So after much thought, I’ve decided, screw it I’m in with whatever I have! Though I’ve been pretty busy as of late, it’s not going to stop me from doing so!

Engine: OpenFL, I’m using my own lib, it’s pretty basic but it’ll get the job done! Link

Language: Haxe

Graphics: Paint.net

Sound: Well I’ve not worked with sound.. so I’m not sure

Goodluck all! And most importantly, have fun!

I’m in and I’m going to stream!

So this is going to be my second LD and I’m going to stream for the first time. As the first time, I’ll participate in the compo. I’m planning to use plain java and I’ll try to explain what I can.

A bit about me: I’m 17 and I’ve been programming for 7 years now. I’m not a game developer, I’m more interested in other tasks (for example I’ve created a multitasking kernel and my own programming language interpreter) but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy making games. Games made me start programming so they will stay my passion. During the stream I hope I can show some good design practices but due to time shortage I’m sure I’ll write some horribly hacked code.

You will be able to watch me here: http://www.twitch.tv/lpeter1997

The stream will start possibly half an hour before LD starts. My english will be far from perfect :) .

I’m In: First Time

This is the time I got my confidence to join the jam. I hope it will go well.

Engine: Unity 5

Yup, just using unity.

I’m in!!

Hey!

This is my first LD and i’m going to try out stuff with some friends!
Probably we will go with GameMaker but who knows, depends on what crazy idea we will throw out!

Good luck everyone!

I’m in. Its been a long time.

So I for some reason I took a break and I came back about two months ago or so. A break from programming in general. Now im back so thats good. Unfortunately I missed the LD right about after it was over. Its been a while since my last one but im in with SomeLad.

Tools:

Language: Java

IDE: Eclipse

Library: LibGDX (Which ive used for about about half a week..SomeLad and Google can talk me through it though.)

Pretty Pictures: Paint.NET

Sound: I guess SFXR?

Ill probably stream a lot of what im doing so if you want to check it out its: http://www.twitch.tv/gasquakeee

Good luck.

!THE ZIMBOS ARE IN!

This is our first Ludum Dare, coming straight from Zimbabwe. Challenge Accepted!.

There’s the three of us here entering the jam to make a game as quickly as possible, IF WE DON”T LOSE POWER. Any pro tips would be greatly appreciated.

Engine: GameMaker Studio(Maybe)

Code: Eclipse IDE, Sublime Text 2, Java

Artwork: GIMP, Paint.NET, Paint

Sound: BFXR, SFXR, Audacity

Video and TimeLapse: Chronolapse, Bandicam, Movie Maker

GO MAKE SOME GAMES!! PLAY SOME GAMES!! GET COOLNESS!!

I’m… We’re in.

I’m in guys, or should I say we’re in.  I’d usually work on my own for Ludum Dare but this time things are going to be a little different.  This time around me, Noah (nozzergaming), and my Dad (vilvic) will be doing the Jam all working together.

I hope this means we have a potential of producing a game that is better than one I’d produce by myself.

Good luck to everyone else taking part in LD33.

I’m in!

Hello everyone! This will be my first Ludum Dare! I’m still not sure, if I will be participating alone as part of the compo or if one or two friends will join me for a jam.

I will be doing something in 2D using Unity 5 with Visual Studio 2015 as well as some custom scripts:

  • A JSON parser (by Wyrmtale) that will be used to load an external config file during the initialization of the game. This way I can just make a build, send the game to a friend and he can help balancing it without the need to install any stuff like Unity. Very useful!
  • An EventBus that came into existence during the last Global Game Jam. My team figured out that an event-based approach fits very well, if you develop your game with self-aware GameObjects.

You can use my template project (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12595295/LD33.zip)! Check GameApp.cs to see how the config parsing and the EventBus works! I’ve provided event classes for void, integer, float and string!

If my controls get too complex, I will be using a 360 GamePad with the neat InControl Library:
https://github.com/pbhogan/InControl

Have a great Ludum Dare everyone!

I’m in!

I had to skip the last two Ludum Dares because of work. Now this Ludum Dare incidentally falls into my vacation, so I thought: “Why the hell not?”.

I’ll use the following tools:

Programming:
Engine: Unity3D
IDE: MonoDevelop
Language: C#

Graphics:
3D Models: Blender (if I even do a 3D Game and need more than cubes or spheres)
Sprites/Textures: Photoshop / Spriter (In case I’ve to animate stuff)

Sound:
Music:  isTime ? LMMS|Bosca Ceoil+Audacity : cgMusic;
SFX: SFXR/BFXR

Now let’s do this!

Have Fun and Good Luck to everyone!

I’m in… probably

Last time I planned to enter a Ludum Dare, I felt that the theme was not workable enough to continue. Hopefully this time I’ll be able to work with the theme which is selected.

I may try using a new language for this jam… I’ve been working with Javascript, but not for game development. If not it will be trusty ol’ Game Maker!

Ready to roll.

Looking forward to a weekend of Dev!

Unity3D / Maya / Photoshop

Du Dum, DU Dum, DU DUM …. Ludum Dare is coming, I’m in!

Just got my ACL fixed (anterior cruciate ligament), orthosis on my leg but I’m ready to do some coding!

This time I decided to use libgdx + Android Studio. I plan to release Web, Desktop and Android version of my game. Not sure what about graphics, probably Aseprite.

Good luck everyone!

We’re in!

LinkPact Games will participate as a group this time! (Or, at least two of us).

I will do the programming and the music, and I am planning to use the following tools:

ECMAScript6 + IntelliJ + transpilation using Babel

pixi.js + howler.js combined with a half-baked draft of a game engine, which I plan to frantically further develop during this Ludum Dare!

FL Studio 12

Looking forward to see where this end up. Compared to last time, we have optimized for learning rather than performance…

I’m in, first time!

First Ludum Dare.  Should be fun!   Going to use Unity 3D which will be a bit of a learning experience for me.

I’m IN !

This will be my first LD, and I’m really excited ! I can’t wait to know the theme ! 😀

For my game I’ll be using GM Studio for programming, PyxelEdit for art, FL Studio for music and bfxr soud effects !

I hope it will be good and finished in time !

Cheers from France 😉
