Where Wolf? Finished!

This Ludum Dare has been a bumpy one. I found myself taking many more breaks than the previous one. I took a long time to think of an idea for the game but I finally found this one. Basically you are an Animal Control officer who has to hunt the werewolves from the crowd of people.

The game took more time than expected due to my infinite loops and other bugs.

It was definitely a learning experience, much like #34. I do not enjoy Where Wolf as much as I enjoyed NnB: Nuts ‘n’ Bolts.

You can play the game here or here.

Enjoy and leave feedback if any. Thanks!

Compo entry Green Knight finished!!

Heya everybody!
Finished my Compo game Green Knight and I am heading bed now.

Just wanted say that I had a blast making it. This was my second LD and last time I barely managed to finish before the Jam ended.
Seems like practice helps and this time I even have time to sleep before going to work tomorrow.

Ludum Dare 35

Next week I’ll be playing your games as much as I can!
Good night!

Some progress!

Now that we have the mood, we’re rushing with the final implementations.

Look how unfortunate our friend is to be already on the first form of his transformation.

Done and submitted

Scrapped my original idea 26 hours in, so had to do a quick game in 22 hours.
Ended up finishing ahead of time, pretty happy with the result.

Entry

…cutscenes

I was originally gonna do a live action/animated cutscene when you finish the game but then I realized how long it would take just for importing and exporting all those frames and such. Plus I’m having some major issues with Unity’s movie textures right now so I’m going to have to resort to a still image as the congratulatory screen instead of a cutscene. :(

UI design right out of 1989

Got my part selection interface and all the sprites finished – for now I’m just using some debug logic to change the max number of parts, but the goal is to have a power-up that increases it.

progress4

Now I guess it’s actually on to making some game-play. 28 hours to do that for the jam deadline, so I’m feeling pretty good.

Finished my first Ludum Dare entry on time!

Didn´t think i would make it on my own when my team wasn’t able to join me this weekend. But i’m still quite happy with the result and haven’t encountered any crashed for a while *knock-on-wood.

You can check it out here

According to my friends its too difficult to destroy a star, can you prove them otherwise? 😉

Please let me know if you encouter any bugs like this one below, major mayham :)

I’ve done it!

The game is “finished” enough for me to call it a day. I had a lot of fun and an equal amount of frustration with various bugs in the Godot engine. If anyone is interested I’ll consider writing a small report about my experiences of using Godot for LD35. Here is the entry page.

As ever, good luck to everyone finishing up.

Shapes Outdoor

I’m sure many of us got perhaps too many hours indoors? In my game, you get shapes to collect within a 600m radius from your current location. So unless you plan to spoof your GPS-position, you got a game to play while getting out for a walk.

As for shapeshifting, the shapes shift shape when you collect one shape.

This game works best on Android, but can be played on iOS too (no sound). Not tested on Windows Phone. Can be played as a web game as well as by downloading an APK for Android.

To the game

Some walks were performed as part of the development of this game. :-)

Level 3 is engaged

Level 3 (THE last one)  of my Point’n click mini-adventure is engaged … I WAN’T TO SLEEP ! but i’can’t… i must finish this LD35 !

Only 4 hours!

Yay! 4 hours to do the following simple things:

  • Make several menus
  • Build 11 levels
    • This also includes any enemies that are needed in those levels
    • and tiles
    • and stuff
  • All the sound FX (except for music)

In any case, the first level is looking good, in my opinion:

May have to switch to the jam… :(

For my first time in almost 2 years, I may have to go for the jam instead.

I didn’t have enough time on my hands due to final exams coming up, so I tried to balance out the time but got way ahead of myself and went for my full-on standard Ludum Dare game, and right now I’m stuck without sound and there’s still a few bugs plus LOADS more features that I want to add.

I only have a few hours after school tomorrow, so my only regret is that people will expect a lot more seeing as it is a jam game. Hopefully people will understand :)

Anyway, good luck for everyone else still going, looks like I’ll be joining the jammers tomorrow.

Was in the combo, got into a JAM

I got sidelined by work again, so no ludlum for me to day, but i can’t make my peace with not daring anything, so i guess it will be the jam this time.

At least that means i can get some decent background music, although i will keep working alone on the rest (gfx, sounds, proggin’).

As always it is amazing what has been going on here in the posts, i feel thoroughly uncreative when i see what some of youze came up with, to me shapeshift did not evoke any ‘creative and eccentric’ ideas.

Goeth forth and codeth…

Done!
